39. Lost

'What?' seeing Cail's reaction, Lily asked, 'What did you assume?'

'Aren't you trying to avenge Ruan Erza?' Cail asked with an astonished expression.

They were utterly surprised, 'What made you think that?'

'The bird from yesterday...belonged to him.' Cail clearly answered why he thinks that.

But Rose, Lily has no idea why Levka had come. Rose and Lily looked at each other. Benjamin called them loudly, 'We are ready to leave.'

They bade bye to Cail and went to the carriage.

There were two carriages.

One from Tao and the other one from Ruan's. Talitha, Rose, and Lily traveled in the carriage from Ruan, with Erliyen and Ryba. After teleporting half of the way Rose started to feel nauseated. Where they teleported was an empty route, a bit away from the town's market.

'Eat this. You will feel better.' Lily gave her a piece of green apple which Rose likes to eat because of the sour taste. She has always liked it even when they were human. She kept looking at the fruit in her palm.

'Is it bearable?' Erliyen asks when she observed Rose was not eating the apple.

Rose assures Erliyen with a smile that seemed so fake, 'I'm alright. It won't be a problem.'

'Are you sure?' Erliyen asked again.

Rose replied with the same. Rose stares at the apple but couldn't bring herself to eat it.

Ryba knocked on the carriage to talk with the driver as he was one managing the horses to teleport so Ryba instructed, 'Hill, continue the journey manually. We will teleport again after crossing the market.'

'Ok, Master.' Hill did as Ryba told him.

Rose was still looking at the apple that was in her palms. Rose sighs and leans back. She didn't have the appetite, instead, she was looking at it while being lost in thoughts. Suddenly the carriage horses screeched. The girls looked out from the window to see what happened.

Ryba too looks out, 'What happened?'

'A kid..bumped with the carriage.' Hill answers with a panicked voice.

Rose could hear that the kid was in pain. Rose and Lily got out instantly. Erliyen tried to stop them but Lily requested to let them check as they know the human is badly hurt.

They got down and went in front of the carriage. The driver was kind. He was feeling sorry for the kid, 'Will you be able to walk?'

'I don't know.' the girl cried.

Seeing the girls come here Hill stepped aside.

Erliyen was having a headache. A sound continuously was ringing inside her head, 'These girls really worry me.' Seeing Erliyen's health not well Ryba stepped in.

'I'm bringing them back. Don't worry...' Ryba was stupefied.

She couldn't believe her eyes. Lily was healing the human just by patting her back. Lily was talking with the child with care. The kid was dirty and her hair was messed up which Lily didn't care about at all.

Rose looked at the girl and the surrounding. At the end corner of the market, there are slums where the poor stay. 'Where do you live, Fira?' Rose gave her the apple she had in her hand. The girl took it while bowing to her. Rose

'In the town's slum.' the girl answered.

Lily saw the shopkeeper was getting out to write the menu outside. 'You! Mr. Shopkeeper!'

The shopkeeper was irritated to hear her call him like that.

'How could you throw a weak child like her on the street?' Lily was furious.

The shopkeeper mocked the girl who tried to steal the food. He accused her of being a Thief. Fira was crying hearing that and grabbed Lily's hand saying Fira didn't steal.

'I only picked up the piece that fell on the ground.' Fira lowered her head.

The shopkeeper yells at Fira, ''Don't lie! you thief! The piece was fresh. It didn't have any dust…'

'Then...Why don't you eat that!' Rose grabbed his nape and pushed him inside the bakery shop.

'What are you doing! What kind of behavior…'The shopkeeper tried to get out of her grip.

Rose saw the piece in the bin, 'You would throw that but won't allow them to eat.'

She picked up the bread and shoved it into his mouth. The customers were very much surprised and got scared at Rose's attitude.

'Aunt Sayo!' Ryba immediately went in and tried to remove Rose's grip from that man's nape. But failed, 'Let him go, aunt Sayo! You are scaring others.'

Rose looked at the surroundings. She lets go of the man, 'Because of these shitty people, those who are poor suffer like that. The rich do it for fun! Just to satisfy their dominating ego! Eat till the last bite!'

The shopkeeper was jinxed and took the bread and put it inside his mouth.

'You mustn't chew.' Rose uses her command power. With the faint glow in Rose's eyes, the shopkeeper started to feel an urge to eat everything but he was not able to chew. Ryba was shocked at Rose's attitude. Ryba had doubts that Rose has anger issues but thought them merely childish but this Rose was different. Rose was getting out of control. Anger was rushing through her veins as she looked at the shopkeeper. He couldn't chew. He was gulping down the whole bread. Ryba pulled her out from there.

While going, Rose looked at the man, 'You have no idea how hunger feels right?! Now you will know them.'

They could hear the man vomit out everything while getting out of the shop.

Ryba was really angry. She lashed out on Rose on the street, next to their carriage, 'Was that really necessary! You know we can't mess with humans! What if he is not guilty!'

Rose said without a care, 'He was wrong.'

'Just because you can read anyone, doesn't mean you can make them do whatever you want! You put a spell on him, didn't you!? Revoke the spell you cast upon that man. If he can't eat he will die!' Rose looked at Ryba but didn't answer.
