Chapter 2: Summer Blunder

Eight long years went by with no show of Issac. It didn't bother me that I didn't see him. Running home from my last day of boring, energy draining school, I was excited. I didn't have to go back. I graduated with honors. I was going to Grandpa Jim's house for the summer like I have for the past eight years.

I had my stuff already packed and in front of the door to go. Mom and Dad were still getting along perfectly. I busted through the door, dropped my book bag by my stuff, and turned only to bump into someone else. I went to step back but slipped on my backpack strap as a pair of arms came around my waist to pull me against the hard rock chest I had just bumped into. I gripped the T shirt for a moment, then opened my eyes. I arranged the purple glasses to be looking up at the green eyes.

"Ah!" I yelled, pushing him.

He held me for a moment, turned me in the other direction, before letting me go. I wiped my body as if he had a disease or something. He just stood there, his arms crossed, green eyes watching me in my school uniform. I did not like the mini skirt we had to wear, or the ancle socks and girly sandals. It showed too much of my legs and when I sat down too much of my thighs. But as I was enrolled in a private school just as Issac had been, it was mandatory. The white button up shirt under a dark green and black vest with a black tie was not my color. I hated green.

"Did you find a bug on you?" He teased me.

I had French braided my just-over-mid-back auburn hair.

"No!" I yelled at him, turning just to look at him. A playful grin was on his face as he watched my actions. "I'm not afraid of bugs! I don't want your germs all over me."

"Ooo are you sharp tongued," he said clearly enjoying my sarcasm.

"You two are making a ruckus." I heard dad's voice. I looked over as he came down the steps. He wore his normal business suit. He was just as tall as Issac at six foot plus but had dark blue eyes instead. I pointed at Issac as his grin turned into a gaping mouth expression and his arms came loose.

"Daddy! Tell him to stop teasing me!"

"I did no such thing!" Issac denied as I flashed him an angry look. The amusement was in his eyes, as his stance clearly showed argumentative. It only made father laugh as his hand patted my head.

"This is quite amusing. Honey!" He called for my mom as she came into the entrance hall from the kitchen with a towel wiping her hands. Her head tilted as she wore her normal blue housewife dress.

"What's wrong, dear?" she asked as she came over and stood next to father.

"It appears we have an argument." She gasped, playfully, placing her hand at her mouth as her amber eyes looked from me to Issac.

"Oh dear. What should we do?"

"Stop teasing!" I yelled. My once excited mood turned quickly into a foul one.

"Oh, don't get upset," my mother said in her soothing voice as she came over to me. She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me. "It's ok to be teased. You don't have to be so serious all the time."

I wrapped my arms around her, setting my cheek on her shoulder.

"I know, I'm sorry," I said low.

"Now, go get dressed. Issac wanted to leave soon." I pulled away from her, looked at her as the color drained from my face.

"What do you mean...?" I asked her.

"Well, Issac is on summer leave from college. He was going to go to your grandfather's place to spend the summer there helping around the house. So, he offered to stop by and pick you up to save your dad time from taking you."

Now, I feel sick to my stomach. Four hours in the car... with HIM!

"But... we always stop for the soft served flavored ice cream," I said, trying to bring up a good point. I really had none.

"I am sure Issac will stop. We used to when he was young also."

I made an irritating noise as I knew nothing was going to change their mind. Sighing, I nodded my head and went up the steps to my room. I closed the door, leaned against it, sliding down it. I lightly continued to bang my head on the door.

"Why? Why? Why?" I repeated to myself. I stood taking my shirt off. My bust size was a C and I hated them. I really hated them. They grabbed the boys' attention too much. I tossed the shirt, bra, and vest into the basket, took my shoes off with my toes keeping the socks on. I twisted my average arms back to the zipper of the skirt when my door was opened.

"Hey!" Not moving anything but my head, I turned to the voice and froze. Issac stood there, the door wide open, his hand gripping the door handle hard, his face looked red just as I felt my face paling. His green eyes taking an up and down look at my half naked form.

Then I screamed.

"What the hell!!" I yelled, throwing my shoe at him, hitting him right in the stomach as he backed out, closing the door.

I stood there, frozen, not able to move. He just came in here! Without knocking! What kind of a man. Not only that, now I must sit, for four hours, in the car, knowing he saw me.... naked! No one has seen me naked! Feeling my blood return to my face full force, plus some I slipped my sports bra on, only wanting to wear regular bras to school or when I went out. I put my anime lover's shirt on, my pants, tennis shoes, and grabbed the book I was reading. I placed my hand on the doorknob, the blush continuing.

How am I going to face him? We were brother and sister by marriage only. Not really related. Eight years apart. That was a significant difference. I sighed, rolled my eyes as the blush I felt was still on my cheeks as I opened the door. I closed it, hugging my book to my chest as I went down the steps. The front door was open and my stuff was missing. I went outside as Father was talking to Issac.

"Rozy, you be good," my mom said as she linked her arm with mine, taking me to Issac's sports car.

"I am always good, mom."

"Be nice to your brother."

I rolled my eyes.

"As long as he leaves me alone, we won't have a problem." She chuckled.

"I knew you were going to say that."

We reached the men as they turned to us. I looked away, hugging the book tighter. Mom suddenly hugged me tightly. Putting the book in one hand, I hugged her back as I was now looking at those green eyes. They darkened slightly, before he closed his eyes and leaned against his car. She let me go as father then hugged me. I hugged him back as he patted my head.

"Be safe," he spoke.

His arm went around my mother's waist as I went to the passenger door. I opened it, smiled, and waved at them and slipped into the bucket seat of the car. I put my belt on as Isaac got in. He slipped the keys into the ignition, started the car, and drove off.
