Before a giant black steel hate, the twins stood hand in hand waiting to be let in to the mansion.

On the humongous gate, a fox's head was meticulously carved into the steel material. The lights from the bright sky fell on the gate, lighting the crystal jewel eyes of the fox imprinted on the gate.

Staring at the gate, they had a feeling that the future would be bright, not just because of the lights falling from the sky above them.

Being born in an environment where they had never seen the sun or any light of sort in the sky made them shocked and amazed when they came to district which had lights.

The contents of the paper she had found in the box directed them to this house.

It had cost them a whole lot of Xyrones to transport themselves here but lucky for them, apart from the pieces of paper in the box, she had also found a hundred Xyrones hidden in the box. There was a secret compartment in the box, as if the palm lock wasn't secure enough.

When she discovered the piece of paper and the money, she knew what their mother wanted them to do. She wanted them to leave Ferrous.

Now standing at the gates of this new mansion where their mother used to work when she was healthy, they awaited what fate had to offer them in this district.

A district whose streets sparkled when the lights feel on the spotless pavements of their lead floors.

A district where they could see the light of day.

"Who are you? " Said a large man who had a stubble that made him look scary. He had a round face and hairs that fell lax on his forehead as if they were sweaty.

" We are here to apply for the job of servants" Stated Diana. The man sized them with his eyes.

Looking at them, they looked like they're were brought out of some dirt holes, filthy.

"I don't think we are short of servants. Are we Zing? " He asked his companion who was a bit skinny and shorter in height compared to the huge man.

He had a clean chin unlike the large man and hairs that looked errant.

He had tood quietly observing the dialogue but now that his friend had pulled him into the conversation, the quiet man had no choice but to speak.

" Do you have to drag me into every discussion? "

The skinny man grumbled dissatisfied.

The huge man furrowed his eyebrows as he stared at his colleague. " We work in the same station together. If I don't talk to you then who would I talk to? " He whined like a child at his friend.

From their interaction, they looked like they were really close.

"Stop acting like a child and just handle the situation.

" Or maybe you're just clueless and trying to hide your ignorance in your aloofmess" The big man snorted.

" I work at the entrance, I don't work as a butler or in the kitchen. Why should i keep account of all the servants? " He raised his scanty eyebrows at his buff colleague. He shook his head while holding unto a black rod which looked like it was made of a strange material they had never seen all their life.

It was black, shiny but definitely not plastic or metal.

Diana and her brother watched the two grown men banter like children in an amusing way.

Finally the buff one gave in.

" Madam is not home now. I will go ask the head maid if we need any more servants" The huge one said before he turned to leave.

They waited in the daylight for the big man to come back.

After a while he came back. " The head maid is busy but I was able to ask the butler.

You're in luck because he says we could use a few more servants. "

They smiled in their hearts as they big man told them the news.

The guards unlocked the hexagonal gates and the partition that ran in zig zag manner down the gate, slid open.

Walking into the mansion grounds, they're were astounded by the sheer showcase of wealth in this infrastructure. More wealth than they had ever seen in their lives.

The building like most other building they had seen in this district were of a special design than they were used to.

It was designed in an circular shape ascending high up.

I was the highest building they had ever seen in their life.

They lived in ferrous were the sky was rumoured to be closer than it should be, hence the government had placed laws for the height limit of buildings in the area because the crust was thinner in that region.

However it was highly unlike that the government paid attention to matters of such a district as they considered all their problems and struggles to be trivial.

They practically didn't exist on the STEM map.

Above all the luxury that caught their attention, one thing drew their eyes the most, Plants.

They were green pieces of living wood, sprouting from the ground. Those were the biological systems that could produce air, for free. Or so they're were taught by their mother.

They had taken multiple lessons from their mother as she had been their teacher all their life because formal education was not popular in Ferrous and even if it was, they couldn't afford it.

The plants had woody straight parts that branched into tiny green flat razor like parts called leaves.

There was a whole land area having such plants in combination with others.

Diana found this fascinating although the same could not be said about her brother.

Right from when they're were young little kids, Diana was the inquisitive one.

Diana loved to learning even before she recognized the alphabets. Her enthusiasm had caused her mother pay more attention to her and she picked up really fast.

Axel however had tagged along because it seemed like a fun thing to do while in that shack.

After Axel started working to earn for their family, when she wasn't busy doing house chores or if her mother was asleep, she would read.

On the building, some grey, shiny smooth edged objects with numbers on a plate attached to their back were lying on the ground.

They had tinted glass windows that curved smoothly with the machine's design. They were cars. Diana had read about that in the books her mother had brought home.

She had studied the evolution of cars from crude ancient horseless carriages to wheeled cars and finally the magnotech cars which moved without wheels but levitated on the floor using magnetism.

" Go around the back. Servants shouldn't follow the front entrance to the house. "

The skinny man who had followed them thus far spoke.

" Yes sir. " They replied in unison while clutching onto the little bags containing their raggy clothing.
