Thirst for Power

Tier? Upgrade? The question thrown at him sent his mind buzzing with multiple thoughts.

" My Lord? " He had no idea what the boy was talking about.

He had heard some servants discussing in the house about their tier levels and how they would not have ended up here if they weren't so low in the hierarchy.

He didn't pay attention to the discussion as the only thing that mattered to him was doing his job and doing his best at it. After all that was what kept him alive.

Now his master was asking him about something he had never heard of until he came to this mansion.

" Oh don't act so oblivious " He scoffed, placing his two large palms on his waist as he scrutinized Axel.

" Look at me" He ordered but Axel feared if this was a trap placed by the power obsessed boy so didn't raise his head.

" I said look at me! " His voice thundered in the white painted room.

Axel looked up and his blue orbs met the ruthless hazel ones of his Master.

" What tier level are you at? " He raised his thick black brows at the squirming thing beneath him.

" I don't understand my Lord" Axel's eyes looked anywhere else in the room but not Iseul's eyes and then dropped back to the floor. The boy was intimidating.

" I said look at me. And look at me means you keep looking until I tell you otherwise " He growled.

"I do not have the audacity to do so my Lord. That would be disrespectful and I could never dream of doing so" He bowed his head lower and sounded as convincing as he could to get the boy's pride elevated.

"Your persistence in avoiding eye contact to high tier holder like me dictates your low tier value" He scorned the servant and smiled satisfied.

Again with the tier levels. He still didnt grasp the entire concept of the hierarchy he had been hearing.

He had also heard some of the guards discussing about the tier upgrade of the mansions master.

The head of the mansion, Young Iseul's father, was said to be at a high tier level which was one of the reasons why he worked for a prestigious organisation. as Pluripotent.

His wife was a very introverted woman who hardly showed her face to most of her servants. Most of those who beheld her where those who worked in stations where they had to see her to function.

Like those who prepared her bath, those who cleaned her room and those who served her food whenever she was not feeling like coming outside her room.

He had caught a glimpse of her on a day when she walked by him as he cleaned the floors with his head bent low.

He had seen her elegant feet that walked gracefully, barely touching the floor. After she was far off, he lifted his head to see her back and that was all he knew of her.

"Since you do not want to say your tier level I shall test it myself " He smirked and stepped back to give Axel some space.

Then without warning, threw a punch at Axel's face, Which barely touched his face as he had dodged the unexpected attack on his face.

Shocked, he stepped back to avoid the crazy boy before him. He felt his cheek burn from the pain of being bruised by a fist so tough.

"Let me see your best" He called and motioned for Axel to come forward as he took a stance.

Axel had no idea how to go about this.

He had not been professionally trained to be a top ranked fighter like the boy before him, yet the crazy spoilt brat was willing to prey on him.

Back in ferrous, he knew basic self defence moves that had helped him survive while roaming around town even though he avoided the deadly places as much as he could.

However he had encountered some outlaws and thieves one a few times who thought they could pick on him as he seemed like a young boy who was an easy target.

When the group of three young boys who were just a little over his age had attacked him that day. he had defended himself quite impressively and gotten away with only a few scratches and wounds.

Of course his sister was beyond worried that he had gotten hurt but he didnt take it to heart. It was just how it worked around there. Everyone was doing all they could survive.

Now staring at the tough built boy who was ready to test his theory or something he didn't understand by fighting a weak person like him, he felt unfortunate. What bad luck had he gotten himself into?

' I should have just done my work and left as soon as I could. Why did I even come back here in the middle of the day' He reprimanded himself in his head.

He had come back to clean the dojo with the excuse that it was better to start early even though all he wanted to do was watch Young Iseul train. He was fascinated and greatly admired the skills the boy possessed.

Young Iseul was beyond talented. He had skills that were superhuman. Metal bending.

The first time he saw him using his ability it sent him in a daze.

Young Iseul's tutor didn't not come to teach the boy today, so today the boy was out to just train by himself. He usually did that when he had free time with no tutors around.

Iseul attended a school in a town located somewhere in this district.

He got formal education there afted which when he returned home, another round of education was given to him.

The boy was given no break at all. Axel wondered if the boy had ever experienced the simple word 'rest'.

Before he had met this family, he used to think the rich had ample time to have fun, enjoy their lives and relax but after meeting this family he realised how wrong he had been.

These people didn't have time to take a break, they were always striving to be at the highest positions possible.

Despite being one of the most well doing family in this district and probably the entire nation, they still wanted more.

Indeed the the thirst for power was insatiable.

Power.

That was what he needed. And that was what this boy before him desired greatly. That was why he wanted to fight someone weaker. To have a sense of superiority after trampling over a measly person like himself(Axel).

The burn in his cheek did not subside, rather it flared with the thoughts that rummaged his head.

" It's OK. I'll go easy on you."
