4 STB: Chapter 3
Since that day Alex was able to utilize runes, he decided to make his attic safer by putting a bunch of protective runes on the walls of the attic and some energy-concealing runes along with sound-dampening runes.
He has been experimenting with the runes as much as he can, while he still attends breakfast, lunch, and dinner with family most of his time is on seeing what runes can do.
At first, Alex noticed the downside of runes, the more you put runes on an object the more you are running out of space to put runes, so he decided to experiment on an old knife he slapped it with a reinforcement rune and wrote a rune for sharpness on top of the reinforcement rune making it exposed on his face.
Luckily Alex was able to regenerate fast enough to do more experiments as he is the 4th progenitor.
At first, Alex thought about how to stack runes together, and then he suddenly got an idea, the idea was so simple that he slapped his forehead.
The runes don't need to be big enough to read, it doesn't matter how big or small the rune is as long as the intent is there, so he manages to put a reinforcement rune the size of rice since he can't control it to go even smaller.
Seeing it worked like a charm, Alex proceeded to spam a lot more runes on the said knife almost making it indestructible, well for him, for others well, good luck in that.

"And that should be, now I just need it to jump-start it using my bottomless mana to kick start it" Alex looked at the sphere inside a transparent cube that would protect not him but his family and base, yes, Alex upgraded the attic to look a lot more lab like.
"I hope this will work this time, I'm sure I put the right runes that will work with my mana and won't explode on my face again" Alex looked at the prototypes of his project perpetual rune device (PRD) on the side.
The project PRD works like a perpetual motion machine but it will run on his runes and mana, the cube is loaded with a bunch of reinforcement and protection runes, where the sphere contains frictionless runes and levitation runes, and inside the sphere is a bunch of metal runes that Alex carve, the metal is shaped on a ᚱ (Raidho) which means momentum, the metal rune also has a tiny dot that you have to focus to see it's the rune of ᚢ and ᚲ (Uruz and Kenaz), Alex just need to overcharge it with his mana to work… hopefully…

"Okay, let's do this… hope this works" Alex put both of his hands on top of the cube as he pumped it with pure mana, the core shining brightly making it impossible to see what was happening in the center of the light.
Slowly the light deemed showing the sphere shining like a light bulb as it emitted limitless energy, while it's limitless it doesn't mean the output is strong enough to destroy a planet, but it is strong enough to power an entire island.
"... Haha… it worked finally… now… for the next part… I have no idea what to do with this… I mean I just built it since I could, but I haven't thought this far… meh I'll probably find a purpose for this in the future" Alex just shrugged it off and put the PRD on the corner of his lab.

"So what's next? Oh! How about storage rings? It's convenient and easy to carry perfectly to store things you don't want others to see or put something large, yeah that could work" Alex immediately rushed towards his table where he planned his next move, well usually he just does what he wants so it's probably useless in the future.

The 4th progenitor is currently sanding a metal sphere large, similar to an adult fist.
Alex then gathered mana to his fingertips as he wrote the rune ᚠ (Fehu) on the surface of the metal sphere, after Alex was done the 4th progenitor poured his mana and intent into the metal sphere as he grabbed a random paper and placed it on the top of the rune making the paper disappear, seeing this made him smiled then pour his mana and withdraw intent to the said sphere and the paper suddenly appear.
"FUCK YEAH! The first madafaking try! Sometimes my genius is almost frightening" the 4th progenitor said while nodding when suddenly the metal sphere exploded.
"... Huh?" Alex looked at the metal sphere where it was currently cracked in half, as he carefully examined what the cause of the explosion was.

"Oh… so that's how it is, the metal is not the suitable material to be used since it's not the best for mana conductor, while it can work just as fine you have to spam with reinforcement rune" the 4th progenitor suddenly stopped as he slowly looked at the project PRD.
"That thing won't explode too right? Nah I'm sure it won't, if it does explode, that's where the transparent cube comes in, where the cube is loaded with reinforcement and protection runes" Alex turned around towards his table and opened his laptop to find and research for a suitable metal for storage rings.

While Alex researches a new material for his storage rings he glances at the clock on his laptop indicating it's almost dinner.
Seeing this Alex decided it was enough for today and headed towards the bathroom to clean himself, while he didn't need to do it since he had mana to clean himself, he still liked to shower and old habits die hard.

Alex is currently in the tub wondering about his powers.
"Now come to think of it, I haven't explored my powers to a degree, while I do use mana for runes, I haven't used my familiar yet and I kinda want to see them in person" Alex plays with his mana, when suddenly Alex got hit by an inspiration.
"Wait… storage rings… space… dimensions? If it's possible to store objects doesn't that mean living beings can be stored too? Creating my dimension where I can let my familiars out sounds amazing, yep let's add that to my plans, I kinda want an AI assistant though, so I don't have to do it manually and I'll just have to say it and the AI will do the rest… yeah, that's another future project" the 4th progenitor mentally noted this future projects in his mind as he stood up and got out of the tub.

Alex exited the bathroom and looked at the clock causing his eyes to widen.
"Oh shit! I'm late for dinner, I've spent too much time thinking about future projects, and now I want that AI assistant!" Alex rushed to clothe himself as he rushed downstairs and saw the pissed look of his mother forcing him to sweat uncontrollably…
"Haha… wonderful evening my dear mother, another fabulous dinner once again" Alex slowly got into his seat as he looked for his father for help who decided that the ceiling suddenly became interesting.
