22 STB: Chapter 21

Morning came, causing the sunlight to hit Kojou's face, making him groan as he shifted around his bed until the sunlight was unbearable causing him to wake up.

"... I'm going to die because of this sun someday" Kojou then headed towards the bathroom and prepared to go to school.

As soon as he was finished, he dressed up and went outside his room to meet Nagisa who was cooking.

"You're late Kojou-kun!" Nagisa said as she prepared the table for them to eat breakfast.

"I thought mom's home for a second, this smells amazing" Kojou lazily sat down as Nagisa also sat on her chair.

"So you're saying I'm not a good cook?! Then I'm not cooking for you tonight, and tomorrow's breakfast and tomorrow's dinner! Stupid Kojou! Hmph!" She ate first without waiting for Kojou to say something.

"... Why me..." Kojou just accepted his fate and ate his last meal that was cooked by his cute little sister

As soon as Kojou and Nagisa exited their apartment where Nagisa was still ignoring Kojou, they saw Yukina Himeragi who was waiting for the both of them, and Nagisa immediately rushed to Yukina and hugged her.

"Yukina-chan! Did you wait long for me? I'm sorry! Kojou is being slow as always and lazy too, you get me right?" Yukina can't help but chuckle and just agree with the energetic Nagisa.

Yukina then looked at Kojou causing him to blink many times which he didn't get, making Yukina to face-palm herself.

"Go ahead first Nagisa, I have something to talk about with Senpai" Yukina said with a smile, causing Nagisa to whine for a bit and eventually accept it.

"Ehh~ fine, but you have to give me lots of hugs, Yukina-chan!" She headed downstairs first as Yukina looked at Kojou for a bit and grabbed something from her bag revealing a letter and gave to Kojou.

"Read it, a letter for you" Kojou thought it was a confession letter, and as he was about to say his thoughts.

"Don't misunderstand, this is not a confession letter, just read it and you'll understand" Yukina narrowed her eyes towards Kojou causing him to sweat, and released a nervous chuckle and just opened the letter.

After Kojou and Yukina got off at the station, both of them walked and talked about the content of the letter. Now that there were not that many people around them, Kojou took the letter again and read it.

"Lord Dimitrie Vatler of Ardeal?" Kojou asked.

"... You don't know him?" Yukina asked as she looked at Kojou as if he were an idiot.

"No? Should I?" Kojou asked, confused, why Yukina is making that face, causing Yukina to sigh?

'Why did they assign my first mission to observe him…' Yukina thought.

"You should, after all, it's common knowledge" Yukina shook her head as she looked at the still confused look of Kojou.

"*Sigh* Ardeal is one of the principalities of the Warlord's dominion" Yukina explained.

"Warlord's Dominion?" Kojou asked as he tilted his head, which made Yukina very frustrated at Kojou who was living in the demon sanctuary and didn't know this common knowledge and just wanted to pull her hair but managed to compose herself because she's a professional observer.

"A dominion in Eastern Europe, which is ruled by the 1st progenitor" Yukina paused her explanation and looked at Kojou as she narrowed her eyes.

"You know about the 1st progenitor, the Lost Warlord, right?" Yukina asked.

"He's the vampire who controls 72 familiars, right?" Kojou asked to confirm if he was right, to which Yukina nodded and sighed in relief that Kojou seemed to know about this common knowledge.

"That's correct, and the sacred treaty established to allow humans and demons to coexist was allowed due to his cooperation" Yukina explained.

"So this Vatler serves the 1st progenitor then?" Yukina nodded to Kojou's question.

"Since he rules a principality, that automatically makes him a noble, plus he is a pure-blooded vampire born from the 1st progenitor's line" Yukina said.

"So what's a big shot like him doing in Itogami Island then?" Kojou asked.

"He's probably here to meet the current 4th progenitor and you who's a 2nd generation vampire born from the previous 4th progenitor, while I'm pretty sure you have no idea but you're pretty much a noble, your status is just as important as Lord Vatler is, but compared to him, you don't have a land to rule" Yukina said

"Eh? Me? A noble? Haha, don't joke like that Himeragi" Kojou just laughed it off unaware of his current situation, but Yukina just shook her head.

Kojou and Yukina arrived at the school, since Yukina was feeling thirsty she went towards the vending machine.

She was searching for a coin in her pocket but as soon as she removed her hand, a cross fell along with the coins. Kojou saw this and helped her and noticed the silver cross.

"What's this?" Kojou inspected the cross but Yukina immediately snatched it and glared at Kojou who just scratched his head.

"Thank you... It's from my roommate, she gave it to me when she received her first mission, it's very important to me" Yukina said while Kojou just bought 2 water bottles from the vending machine and gave the other one to Yukina.

"A sword shaman like you?" Kojou asked

"Not a sword shaman but another attack mage in the Lion King organization, I wonder what she's up to know..."

Meanwhile Yukina's roommate

"Nhgh! Yes Alex! You're so deep inside me!"

"Ughn! I'm cumming Alex!"

"Let's continue what we talked about later after school" Yukina said.

"Yeah, let's go or we'll be late" Kojou said, which Yukina nodded before putting the cross in her pocket again.

"Can we stop by at the supermarket? I need to buy the groceries that Nagisa asked for... So I can also have my dinner tonight" Kojou asked, but mumbled the last part.

"Sure, I'm fine with it" Yukina turned around and headed towards the supermarket where she always shops with Kojou in tow.

"So? What will you do about Lord Ardeal?" Yukina began the conversation and wanted to know what her target of observation would do.

"From what you've said earlier, it looks like I got no choice but to accept the invitation" Kojou took out the letter once again and started to review it.

"Hmm?"

Yukina got curious so she asked.

"What's wrong?" She asked, causing Kojou to look at her.

"It says right here to bring a partner" he said, causing Yukina to be uninterested.

"Well it's typical to attend parties with your lover in the West, while you can always bring a male friend as a partner this goes with the female too"

"But this letter was specifically sent for you so I assumed the partner would be me, your observer" Yukina said when they arrived at the supermarket.

"Let's go here, it's much cheaper" Yukina pointed at where she often shops.

"Okay" As both of them entered the supermarket and grabbed a cart.

"Also, are you fine with it Himeragi?" Kojou asked.

"If you're asking if I am fine being your partner, then yes, I don't mind, it's much easier since I don't have to sneak around and will cause offense to Lord Ardeal" Yukina said as Kojou put the things he needed on the cart.

"That's good that I don't have to find a partner then, I was going to ask Natsuki-chan to be my partner if you refused since she knows my real identity and she's also an attack mage" Kojou said with a relief smile on his face

"She won't agree, you also can't bother Minamiya-sensei at the moment, she's been busy with the terrorists going around causing chaos" Yukina told Kojou causing him to be shocked at the revelation.

"Really? I thought Natsuki-chan was a normal attack mage" Kojou said, causing Yukina to shake her head because her target of observation has no idea what's going on, his threat level will probably go down because of this.

"She is a high-ranking attack mage and is referred to as "Witch of the Void" Well at least that's what her rumored epithet is" Yukina said as they went over to the cashier and paid for the items they bought.

"Speaking of parties, do you have anything to wear at the party?" Kojou asked, causing Yukina to stop and blink many times.

"... I'll check later in my wardrobe if there's suitable dress for a party" Yukina said as both of them headed together towards their building.

"I'm home" As soon as Kojou opened the door to his apartment, a box was greeted with the letter on top of the box.

"Hmm? Package? For me?" Kojou grabs the letter and reads it.

Seeing this Kojou went towards Yukina's apartment and knocked on it, soon the door opened revealing Yukina in her casual outfit ready to head outside.

"Senpai? Is there something wrong?" Yukina asked curious why Kojou approached her.

"Yeah, there's a package that came from the Lion King organization, I thought it was for you" he said.

"Eh? A package? Then why didn't they send it to my apartment? I think that package is for you Senpai, an error like this can't happen unless it was specifically shipped to you" Yukina said, causing Kojou to nod.

"You want to find out?" Kojou asked and Yukina nodded, as both of them went towards Kojou's apartment.

"You haven't even checked Senpai?" Yukina gave Kojou a look as if she was saying 'Are you stupid or something?' because Kojou just chuckled nervously and opened the box.

"A dress?" Kojou then grabbed the card and saw Yukina's information about her exact Bust, Waist, and Hips, but Yukina immediately took action as she stabbed Kojou's head with Schneewalzer hoping he forgot about her body measurements.

"AHHHHHHHH!" Kojou yelled and passed out, Yukina immediately grabbed the dress and the card containing her very important information. She looked at Kojou who started to regenerate with a crimson hue on her cheeks feeling embarrassed, she then left for her apartment.
