Alex had to stop working on his new project, relic eater, he reluctantly went outside his attic and went towards the location where this unknown sender sent.
Alex already told Sayaka that he would go out for a bit and told her that she didn't need to come with him. She was about to argue but in the end, she reluctantly accepted what Alex asked causing Alex to pat her head.
Sayaka knows very well that Alex can handle himself and has no need to be worried, but her instinct as a woman tells her not to let him go, as there will be trouble but she can't do anything and just let him go.
As Alex walks the streets he can't help but think about his project Relic Eater.
While everything in the program is working just fine it isn't giving Alex the results he wanted.
While thinking of the possible solution to the problem of his project his phone vibrated in his pocket and looked at it as it said.
[You have arrived at your location]
Causing Alex to look at the establishment in front of him.
"A family restaurant?" Alex just shrugged it off and entered the restaurant.
As Alex entered the restaurant he noticed that there was a bunch of people eating with either their family or friends.
Alex then notices a girl his age who's waving in his direction, Alex looks around to be sure she's waving to him.
After Alex confirmed that she was waving towards him, he went towards her table and sat across from her as the waitress asked for his order Alex ordered a slice of strawberry cake since he was in the mood to eat sweets, and who doesn't like sweet things?
Alex then looked at the girl who was smiling at him the moment he sat down.
The girl is quite beautiful but not to the level of his lovely Sayaka, the girl has blond hair he can tell that it's dyed which he doesn't mind, she also has a pinkish-red eye, but what stands out is that Alex notices something strange about the girl that he can't seems to figure out.
'Interesting' Alex said in his mind as he always welcomes a challenge to figure out what's wrong with the girl, and he felt the girl was interesting.
"I finally meet you again" the girl said with a soft smile on her face which caused Alex to raise his eyebrows as he had no recollection that he met or interacted with the girl in front of him.
"I'm sorry but I think you got the wrong person," Alex said with a wry smile and was about to stand up but what she said made him stop in his tracks.
"You're the one who saved the people who were about to get buried by the ceiling right?!" Alex's eyes widened as he immediately deployed a soundproof spell around the both of them.
"How did you even know that?" Alex narrowed his eyes to her causing her to panic and waved her hands in front of him.
"Wait, wait! I'm not your enemy and I didn't mean to scare you if you're hiding your identity, it's just I'm one of the people you've saved that day" she said causing Alex to cross his arms.
"I don't remember you, also what's your name and how did you even find me? I'm sure I've covered my tracks very well" Alex asked as he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Eh? Really? You don't remember me?" She said, causing her to frown.
"Let me ask you this, can you remember every face you've seen?" Alex asked her, causing her to pout as if Alex did have a point.
"Also can you tell me now what's your name and how did you even find me? Also, why are you even below at the keystone gate when there's an attack?" Alex asked.
"First of all I'm not there because I wanted to, okay? Do you have any idea how scared I am, also my name is Asagi Aiba, can I also ask for your name" the girl named Asagi introduced herself.
"... You didn't answer my question… my name is Alex Avgi" Alex frowned as this girl kept redirecting his question and the flow of the conversation which kinda irked him since he always wanted to be in control of a situation.
"Oh... Sorry, I'm there since I'm an employee of the Giga float Management Corporation, I'm a Technical Advisor there" Asagi said with a sweet smile, causing Alex to give her a look as if saying "I don't believe you".
"Hey! That's rude you know, I'll tell you what, I'm a very skilled hacker, so looking at the cameras from the entrance and exit of the keystone gate is easy and that's how I've found you since no one else entered the keystone gate in that time frame that you saved us, so that leaves me connecting the dots" She said as she puffs out her chest to show her pride, but her facial expressions began to soften as she grabs Alex's hands on the table gently.
"Thank you, I was really scared at that time and I thought I was going to die buried in those rubbles, again, thank you for saving my life Alex" Asagi smiled beautifully causing Alex to be captivated for a bit but managed to snap out of it.
"I didn't do anything, I'm just there since I have a business below the keystone gate, but you are welcome" Alex shrugs and just accepts her gratitude.
"Also you can trust me to keep my mouth shut, you're a vampire right," she said causing Alex to nod.
"Your secret's safe with me" Asagi said before her phone rang.
"As much as I like to talk to you more I have to go to my job, again, thank you for saving me Alex" She stood up and went beside him.
"Oh! Before I forget, here's your reward" Asagi intended to kiss Alex on the cheeks but what she didn't expect was for Alex to look at her causing her to kiss his lips as her face to turn crimson and she immediately hurriedly left.
Seeing her hurry to leave Alex can't help but smirk, while the kiss on the lips was unintentional, he can't help but let out a chuckle as it was Asagi's fault to begin with.
He then dispelled the soundproof spell surrounding his table and soon his dessert that he ordered finally came as he ate it in silence.

After meeting Asagi, Alex headed straight home and entered the attic that he might as well call a lab from now on.
The inside of Alex's lab has been expanded using runes so he has plenty of room to work with.
Alex then immediately started working on his project Relic Eater.

"This won't work at all..." Alex looked at the gun he had made, he aimed at the ball of mana that he had created and shot a single round of projectile towards it causing the ball of mana to dissipate but came back from its shape.
"The output is lacking, while mana can solve everything, it can't solve very complicated sequences like Anti-Magic" Alex scratched his head.
"Wait... What is Anti-Magic... from my understanding, Anti-Magic cancels magic, which means returning the magic from its original form which is mana, but there's a much more complicated anti-magic spell, the one Shiba Godsuya uses but I'm going to stick with the easier one"
"If it is then I could use my familiar and rune to make the magic reverse, making it return before it was even created... Holy shit... I've got it."
Alex was about to continue but stopped and got him thinking.
"If I use my familiar creating relic eater then other people can't use it" Alex pondered.
"While not using my familiar it will still work using the runes, while it won't be that powerful using my familiar it's still powerful capable of returning a ritual magic from its origin" Alex quickly assembled his work-in-progress relic eater.

After a series of tests, the prototype relic eater works as it intended but it has its side effects like overheating due to constant usage and there's nothing to regulate and compute the information inside the relic eater like calculating the output, how big the projectile.
As he was about to continue his work a knock interrupted him causing him to look at the culprit.
"Alex? Your mom asked me to get you for dinner" Sayaka said with a smile, causing Alex to look at the clock.
"Yeah, let's head down, I don't want them to wait" Alex dropped everything he was doing and went downstairs together with Sayaka.
