1 Prologue

Alexander has been fascinated when it comes to runes, he still remembers the time when his grandfather introduced his collection of runes to him when he was a young boy, Alex never thought that on that day, his grandfather would make him a rune enthusiast.

But then here he is in his parent's attic trying every bit of rune combinations he can do with papers scattered all around him containing different kinds of runes.

But like always there's no reaction to the current combination of runes he created causing him to be disappointed again, he knows something is lacking, it was the final piece that he needed to activate the rune.

But sadly he was born in the wrong world, the world he was currently in doesn't contain any kind of energy in the air or life force from the earth, he once tried powering his runes with electricity but…

That didn't end very well.

He was glad he did that experiment in the forest devoid and far from human settlements, as he wrote runes using electricity on a car battery, and it failed. The electricity ended up in a dry leaf causing it to light up and it was windy that time and ended with a massive forest fire.

He made tons of theories that could make his runes work but they all contained a type of energy that he didn't have access to so with a disappointed sigh as he glanced at the clock indicating that it was time for dinner, he stood up from his 'workshop' and headed downstairs.

Alex saw his mother preparing the table with his father already seated with an amused smirk on his face as he looked at his son with another disappointed look on his face.

"So, another failed attempt huh?" His father said, still having that annoying smirk.

"Yeah, I can't seem to get it to work, and I'm kinda losing hope, to be honest," Alex scratched the back of his head with a wry smile as he sat down.

"Oh? So are you giving up then?" His father said as his mom placed the food on the table and seated beside his father.

"Hell no! I'm not giving up that easily!" Alex huffed.

"Language young man! You're in front of the table" His mother said as she narrowed her eyes on Alex who decided that the floor suddenly became interesting.

Alex is currently in his room with a pencil in his hand as he tries new possible rune combinations that can work without energy.

He glanced at the clock that was hanging on his wall, showing that it was already past midnight, so he decided to wrap things up since he still had school tomorrow.

*Puff*

The sound of the soft mattress echoes throughout the room with an exhausted Alex on top of it as his eyelids decide to get heavier and heavier until he finally succumbs to sleep.

What he didn't know was that he succeeded in making the rune work as the runes ᚱᛇᛈᛉ glowed a blinding light illuminated the whole attic and slowly the glow died down.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

An alarm reverberates in the room causing Alex to let out an annoyed groan as he tries to find the annoying alarm.

Alex turns off the alarm as he rubs his hand on his face and massages his eyes. He finds the sun annoying which is surprising since he is a morning person.

He removed the blanket covering his lower body as he stood up and headed towards the window to open the curtain.

"Looks like I'm still dreaming huh…" Alex pinched and pulled his cheek causing him to hiss at the pain.

"That fucking hurts… now that I know I'm not dreaming… where the fuck is the forest I came to love every time I fucking open the curtain!"

"And why the fuck is the sunlight hurting! I don't remember having any kind of skin disease!"

"And where the fuck am I?!" Alex scratched his head due to him being irritated so he decided to sit on the floor as he calmed himself.

Now that he calmed himself down he noticed that he somehow felt different, and a lot stronger, he could also somehow feel 12 energy inside of him, he tried to access it but he couldn't.

He just shrugs it off and heads downstairs since it's time for breakfast and oh boy, his mother is not amused.

He looked at the clock on the wall and he was late for breakfast. His family has a routine every day and that includes eating breakfast together.

"Yeah, apparently I'm late, and I feel bad about it so, let's just eat breakfast okay? You can even scold me later" Alex then sat down at his place where his mother frowned and his father had a smirk behind his newspaper.

"Breakfast is delicious as always mom, I'm just going to be in the attic if you need me" Alex stood up and left, as he was heading towards the attic he could still hear his mother and father talking to each other, which was weird since he doesn't remember he has a good hearing, causing him to frown as he just headed towards his destination ignoring his newfound super hearing.

"... For fuck sake… all my hard work is gone…" Alex looked at the empty attic that was supposed to be full of books and papers scattered around the floor.

"Now I can guess that my soul did get transported to a parallel world, how else can this phenomenon be explained… now I need to start over again, good thing I have a good memory, to remember all the theories I've made" Alex sighed as he scratched his head and went towards his room to grab paper and a pencil.

Alex was currently on his laptop searching for some kind of new rune, since he's in a parallel world, maybe there's a new rune that has been recording.

What he found shocked him, there were no runes, the world he's currently in doesn't have any runes, it doesn't exist or maybe it wasn't discovered yet.

He's also confused about the world he's currently in, since the place he's currently at is called Itogami Island, and it is a demon sanctuary that is under Japan.

Itogami Island is located floating in the middle of the Pacific, around 330 km south of Tokyo, Japan.

Yes, floating Itogami Island is an artificial Island.

Alex was glad that the world he's currently in has advanced technology since the world he is from was in 2009.

Now that Alex confirmed that supernatural beings exist, he was of course excited as it brought a whole lot of new paths for his runes.

As Alex wrote what he could remember he suddenly stopped as he remembered that he had an energy, 12 energy, he just needed to find a way how to use that energy.

"Yeah, that's the problem, also why do I still feel hungry? I just ate like 2 hours ago" Alex frowned as he patted his stomach, yes he was still hungry but not for food, but for blood.

That's absurd, since why would he need blood, from all he knows he's fully human, he's not some kind of vampire is he?

Then Alex remembered that he finds the sun annoying despite not having any kind of skin disease, he somehow has an absurd strength, can feel 12 energy inside of him, and now he's craving for blood?

"... For fuck sake. I'm a vampire aren't I" Alex put his palm on his face as he massages the bridge of his nose due to the headache he's currently feeling.
