Prologue

Clouds scattered across the sky making the evening dim. I was falling after being thrown and suddenly heard a fight.

Curious, I crawled and peeked behind the bushes. Two people, a man, and a woman are fighting. They were far enough away that I had no idea what they were talking about.

After some time, they also did not stop. I sighed, then turned around. I just realized that my hands and knees are scratched.

"What happened?" I said softly.

A roar from the sky startled me. I gasped and accidentally nudged the line of spears near me. They fall one by one like dominoes.

Just as I was thinking about clearing it up, two people came over. They looked at me sharply and then dragged me along.

When pulled by them, I realized that these people looked different. The modern people of this country wear shirts or pants, but they don't. The cloth wrapped around the waist with a pattern I recognized as batik made me think for a moment that I was in the past now.

"That's impossible," I whispered.

"What did you say?"

I was stunned. "There isn't any."

I noticed one of the people who asked me. His facial features are like those of a 22nd-century human, but his appearance is that of a 10th-century human or royal age.

"Is this a dream? Is this the spirit realm? Did my life end after being hit by that bus?" I'm talking to myself.

"Don't you think she's crazy? She's dressed strangely."

"I think so."

"She doesn't have long to live anyway."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

The two people who were talking about me turned their heads together. One of them replied, "After meeting His Highness, your life will be over. How dare someone like you to be in this place and spy."

"Where is this?"

They didn't answer. They ignore me.

After a while, they stopped walking. Suddenly, I was violently thrown forward. I wince in pain.

"What's this?"

A low voice, cold and stiff. I looked up and at that moment I was hit in the back of the head. I stare at the ground.

"Your Highness, this is an intruder."

"Get rid of her."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Wait!"

"How dare you shout in front of His Majesty!"

My hands hit the ground. It wouldn't be fun if I ended up like this. I close my eyes. "I have something to say," I said.

"Stop talking nonsense!"

"I can see the future!"

"Surely you know your future. Behead her." The sound as deep as the sea came again. The sound of his voice gave me goosebumps.

"No! No! I know the future," I said again.

"Your Highness, she is a lunatic."

I gulped. I have to say something to get this guy back on his word. Come on think, think. "By name, I know your future."

"Your Majesty, we don't have to listen to her."

My heart was beating hard waiting for the answer. His tone was cold, but there was a hint of curiosity.

"Tell me the events that happened in the next two days."

"I should know your name first."

A brief laugh rang in my ear. I've seen this in the movies. He ate my words. "Then, please tell me your name," I replied.

"Raden Bandung Bondowoso."

Instantly my body froze.

"Quickly say your prediction."

"I ... I ...."

"You can't? Get rid of her."

"I can tell your future."

My breath hitched. Of all the people, how did I meet this cruel man?!
