Denying the Reality

A burst of golden bright aura surrounded Lily.

Its brilliance was blinding and its power was overwhelming.

The monsters, once confident in their superiority, now found themselves gripped by terror as the aura seared through their flesh, burning their very beings.

"W-What is this? Why is this aura so powerful?" one of the monsters cried out, agony etched across its grotesque face as it writhed in pain.

The others were no better off, their bodies contorted by the searing light that consumed them.

"We have to run!" another monster screamed, panic lacing its voice.

The group of monsters turned to flee, their primal instincts driving them to escape the source of this unimaginable power.

But before they could get far, Lily's voice, devoid of emotion, echoed through the air, freezing them in their tracks.

"WHERE DO ALL OF YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?"

Her words struck terror into their very souls, and for the first time in their existence, these monstrous beings felt a fear like no other.

They turned back to face her, desperation in their eyes, but it was too late.

Lily's power surged forth, an unstoppable force of nature.

With a wave of her hand, the monsters were held in place, their bodies unable to move as if bound by invisible chains.

Lily had no idea what she was doing, but her wrath had consumed her mind and she was following an order, and that is to not let any of the monsters escape alive.

''ALL OF YOU ARE ANNOYING AND YOU'RE ALL DISTURBING HIS SLEEP!''

The golden aura intensified once more as though responding to her anger.

And with a single thought, Lily unleashed its full might upon the helpless creatures.

The monsters screamed in agony as their bodies were consumed by the searing light, their forms disintegrating into nothingness.

Their cries echoed through the desolate landscape, a haunting testament to the power of a grief-stricken soul.

In the end, the monsters were no match for the overwhelming force that Lily had become.

When the golden light finally faded, there was nothing left of them but ash and echoes of their torment.

Once she discovered that there were no more monsters, her demeanour took a chilling turn as she spoke to the lifeless body of Daniel.

Her eerie smile and playful tone masked the deep turmoil that had consumed her.

She couldn't accept the reality that the love of her life was gone, and her mind seemed to be teetering on the edge of sanity.

"There, Daniel... you can sleep peacefully now," she chuckled, her words laden with a disturbing sense of detachment.

She continued to speak to him as if he were still alive as if their world hadn't been shattered into pieces.

"There are no more monsters, so you'd have a better time sleeping, right?" she asked, her gaze unfocused as if she were speaking to an invisible presence.

Her behaviour was erratic, and it was clear that she was struggling to cope with the loss.

"Hmm? Oh, you want me to sleep by your side?" Lily's words were filled with delusion, as though she believed that Daniel could still respond.

She moved closer to his charred body, her voice growing softer as if she were sharing a secret.

"You're really helpless, huh... then... fine, I would sleep by your side, alright? So promise... me... that we'd wake up together..."

Her words trailed off into a whisper, and she lay down beside Daniel's lifeless form, curling up as if they were going to share another peaceful night together.

But the reality was far from peaceful, and as the world around her grew darker, Lily clung to the hope that this was all just a terrible dream and that she would wake up to find Daniel by her side once more.

Perhaps, because of the sudden power she had used earlier, she was slowly starting to lose consciousness.

Walking over to his body,  Lily lay beside Daniel's lifeless body, her words grew more and more disconnected from reality.

She gently turned his charred and damaged form to face her, as if she were having an intimate conversation with her beloved.

"You know, you're really a handsome guy, don't you know that?" she whispered with an eerie chuckle, caressing his burned cheeks as if she were trying to comfort him.

Her words took on a surreal quality as she continued, "You know how difficult it was for me to chase all the girls away so that I can have you for myself."

Her laughter was devoid of joy, and it sent shivers down the spine of anyone who might have heard it.

"But now, everything will be alright," she declared, though her words seemed directed more at herself than Daniel.

Her eyes grew heavy, and she fought to stay awake.

"Once everything is fine, we'll marry together, alright, Daniel?"

Her voice trailed off, and her expression became blank as she hugged his broken body tightly, as if afraid that he would slip away.

Tears streamed from her eyes as she finally succumbed to exhaustion, her last words a haunting promise. "We'll...be...together...forever."

At that moment, Lily's world fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, where the line between reality and fantasy blurred, and the pain of her loss was temporarily numbed by the comforting embrace of her own delusions.

As Lily slept, lost in the haunting dreams of her own creation, a rift in the fabric of reality manifested nearby.

From its depths emerged Holy Maiden Mariam, her once-immaculate robes now tattered and stained with the remnants of battle.

It seemed that she had won the battle against Minverva, but not without a cost.

The holy aura that usually surrounded Mariam had dimmed, revealing the true extent of her exhaustion and injuries.

Her face, once radiant with divine grace, was etched with the weariness of a battle that had pushed her to her limits.

With every ounce of her remaining strength, Mariam reached out to Lily.

Her voice, though weakened, carried the weight of sadness. "Lily,"
