10 Chapter 9- Change of Living Conditions

{Third POV}

A few minutes passes in silence the and only the sound of the computer sounded in the cave.

The butler of the house, Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth, decided that it was now time to eat.

"Good morning Miss Kyle and Mr Dunamis, I will escort you to the dining area."

"Hey Alfred", said Selina obviously already acquainted with him.

"Hello", the young boy said more meekly seemingly shy towards the butler but in his mind he was freaking out after meeting on of his favorite comic characters and now another of his favorite characters.

They followed him through a complicated set of passages before reaching a dining room in the Manor, yes 'a' dining room cause there were more than one.

On the table were laid out a stack of pancakes with maple syrup alongside fries eggs, bacon and toast. What was surprising to the boy was the boiled broccoli and chicken breast kept at the head seat of the table.

Seeing what the boy was staring at the butler commented,"That is for Master Bruce. He is... very strict with himself."

Selina and Nick sat down and began eating. Halfway through cam Bruce Wayne having changed out of his batsuit and quickly finished his food. Throughout the time they were eating there was silence.

"I have a favor to ask of you Bruce", said Selina.

He nodded already understanding what she wanted,"Go ahead."

"I want you to take care of Nick for me"

"Sure", said Bruce.

"What? What's happening? Are you abandoning me? Why?" question Nick in a hurry.

"I am not abandoning you sweetie, but you will have a better life here with someone who will actually be able to give you resources for you level of intellect. Also though the past year has been fun I don't want you to be a criminal like me."

"What? I don't mind. I want to stay with you."

"But I mind. I steal because I love the thrill, even when I don't need to anymore and that is not setting a good example for a young impressionable mind. Even I understand that."

"I will give him what he needs and also introduce him to a magic user which I assume he is or is atleast related to seeing that sword," said Bruce.

"Thank you Bruce", Selina nodded at Bruce then said to Nick,"You are young and even though you are smart it doesn't mean you are mature. So you will stay with Bruce or rather you will stay with Alfred as he will be taking care of you."

"But I don't want to leave you", Nick said heartedly.

"And I don't want to leave you, but we can always meet whenever you are missing me. You are always free to call me and I can come here once in a while to see you."

"Bu...but..but", Nick stuttered shocked at this sudden decision that will change his life.

"It is fine, Nick. We will still live together for some more time and we will slowly move out your luggage to put it here. Not only that, you might also get a chance to interact with those of your age group"

"People of my age group are dumb."

Nick just looked down, a bit depressed from having to leave his only family in this world.

Selina got up picked Nick up in her arms and started to walk away. Before leaving the house she looked back,"Thank you again Bruce, and you too Alfred."

"Stay well Miss Kyle and Mr Dunamis."

"Anytime" said Bruce.
