Chapter 19: Pre-War (2)

- Myotismon –

Myotismon, finding himself in the peculiar surroundings of Factorial Town, couldn't help but mutter his thoughts. The city was under the jurisdiction of Andromon, a powerful Machine Digimon. Factorial Town relied on a colossal battery source that powered everything within its confines, making it an ideal environment for Machine Digimon to thrive and pass their time.

The city was shrouded in a perpetual haze of smoke, a byproduct of the ever-operational factories that produced countless machines and equipment for other Digimon. While the Machine Digimon didn't appear to be bothered by the smog, Myotismon found it to be quite suffocating. As a guest in this town, he had little control over the environmental conditions and doubted he would return once his mission was complete.

Myotismon's primary objective was to fulfill his lord's orders, and he pondered whether Andromon had made any progress with the requests he had placed. It seemed that there had been no updates from Andromon after ordering customized chips for himself. Myotismon entered the town, where he observed numerous Machine Digimon scurrying about, much like the two Hagurumons stationed at the entrance.

Hagurumon, a Machine Digimon shaped like a rotating gear, was a common sight in Factorial Town. Their bodies were composed of countless gears that constantly rotated, and any missing gear would disrupt their vital functions. Among these Hagurumon, one approached Myotismon, recognizing him and addressing him respectfully, "General Myotismon?"

Myotismon acknowledged the Hagurumon response with a nod, appreciating the assistance. The Hagurumon informed him of Andromon's location, mentioning that the Machine Digimon he sought was situated in the central factory at the heart of the town.

With a brief farewell to the Hagurumon, Myotismon continued his journey toward the central factory. His arrival at the main plaza was marked by the sight of the largest and most prominent factory in Factorial Town. The bustling scene was filled with various machines and Digimon diligently performing their tasks, all powered by the enormous battery that sustained the city.

Among the assembly of Guardromon and Hagurumon, Myotismon's keen eyes caught sight of Andromon, the central figure. Andromon had a humanoid structure, covered in chrome armour, with a helmet that concealed his brain. He acknowledged Myotismon's presence as soon as the vampire entered the factory.

"Welcome, Myotismon. I am pleased to see you in my factory." Andromon wasted no time and addressed Myotismon directly

"I presume you are here for the requested battle chip from five months ago?" said Andromon as he ordered a Guardromon not far away to pick up the requested item in his office.

"I was indeed here to inquire about my order, but I am also here at the request of the Emperor," Myotismon replied, confirming the purpose of his visit.

At the mention of the Emperor, the factory's noise seemed to grow noisier, and the rest of the Digimon's attention shifted entirely to the conversation between Myotismon and Andromon.

"Truly? How interesting, is the Emperor ready to take action?" Andromon's curiosity was piqued, and he inquired.

Myotismon responded with determination, "You are correct, Andromon. We are prepared for war against the Tepes clan, and the Emperor has requested battle chips and various tools that can effectively combat vampires."

Andromon fell into contemplative silence, calculating the implications of the Emperor's request. Meanwhile, a Hagurumon, dispatched by Andromon, returned with a sealed box, likely containing the requested items.

Hagurumon, standing at attention, presented the sealed box to Myotismon with a respectful gesture. Myotismon took the box and opened it carefully, revealing the contents inside. His attention was immediately drawn to an exquisite chip with a purple label featuring the face of a Demidevimon, Myotismon's Rookie form. The sight of it held a nostalgic charm, harking back to when he first encountered the Emperor.

Examining the chip with interest, Myotismon turned to Andromon and inquired, "Pretty, so what can you tell me about this chip?" He was eager to learn more about the chip's capabilities, trusting Andromon's expertise and craftsmanship. Myotismon was aware that many other Digimon, like himself, sought out Andromon for various orders, so he anticipated this chip would be exceptional.

Andromon didn't hesitate to share the details of his creation, explaining, "The tentative name of this chip is the Vampiric Chip. You're free to change its name to your liking. This chip is designed to fully embrace your dark and vampiric characteristics fully, maximizing your prowess."

To provide further insight, Andromon projected a hologram from the palm of his hand, offering detailed information about the chip's effects on Myotismon's body. Eager to understand the full extent of its potential, Myotismon carefully examined the holographic information provided by Andromon.

Myotismon carefully reviewed the holographic information about the Vampire Chip, which Andromon had created to enhance his combat abilities. The chip's attributes were impressive and aligned perfectly with his vampiric nature.

[Chip Name: Vampire Chip]

[Effect: Specialized Chip designed to enhance Myotismon's combat abilities.]

[Attributes:

1. Dark Affinity Enhanced: The chip boosts Myotismon's dark elemental attacks by 35%

4. Cursed Resilience: Myotismon becomes immune to status ailments, such as poisoning, confusion, or sleep.

Myotismon was genuinely pleased with the final product, which met his expectations. Andromon had done an excellent job, and Myotismon was confident that the Vampire Chip would be a valuable addition to his arsenal.

Expressing his gratitude, Myotismon turned to Andromon and said, "Thank you for the chip, Andromon. I am very satisfied with the final product. I shall leave you now as I return to my territory. If you ever require my assistance or have any further needs, you know where to find me." With that, Myotismon turned to depart, carrying the newly acquired chip with him.

- [Andromon] –

Andromon observed in silence as Myotismon's form disintegrated into data, departing Factorial Town and entering the Data Network. Once the vampire had left, Andromon refocused his attention on the Digimon under his command, who had overheard the conversation with Myotismon.

Andromon held the highest authority in Factorial Town, and no significant changes could occur without his authorization. The responsibility and trust placed in him by Sora during their early days as allies made him one of the Emperor's most trusted generals.

Thoughts raced through Andromon's mind as he considered the extensive supply orders given by the Emperor. However, he quickly gained confidence and began issuing orders to the Digimon around him.

"Team A, head to factory #4 and cease the current production. Switch to producing Dark Guard, Wind Guard, Aqua Guard, Flare Guard, Electric Guard, and Noise Guard," Andromon instructed. A Guardromon, followed by a group of Hagurumon, promptly left to execute the orders.

"Roger!" responded Guardromon, the leader of Team A.

"Understood!" echoed the Hagurumon.

Andromon smoothly continued with his directives, addressing Team B. "Team B, proceed to factory #2, halt the current production, and switch to the production of Poison Barrier, Panic Barrier, Paralysis Barrier, Sleep Barrier, Stun Barrier, and Pixel Barrier."

"Understood!"

With the critical tasks assigned to Teams A and B, Andromon turned his attention to the remaining team inside his factory. "The remaining team will focus on producing Attachments of various types. Work swiftly and efficiently."

"Understood!" affirmed the remaining Guardromon and Hagurumon.

Andromon's efficient management of his resources and production units showcased his role as a capable leader, ensuring that the Emperor's orders would be carried out promptly and effectively.

"What about us?" asked Numemon, the green mollusk Digimon who managed to sneak inside the factory.

Andromon was momentarily taken aback when Numemon, the green mollusk-like Digimon with distinctive, ridiculous eyes, spoke up on behalf of his group. These Numemon, who primarily resided in the town's sewers and generally kept to themselves, were now expressing their willingness to contribute to the Emperor's cause. Andromon had almost forgotten about their presence under his supervision.

Realizing that they were now eager to assist, Andromon considered their potential role. With a nod, he replied, "Understood; you shall gather the components and inventory to the various factories all across the town."

The Numemon group reacted quickly, and one of them excitedly rallied the others, shouting, "AYYYYY, you heard him right, boys? Let's get to work!"

The Numemon enthusiastically responded, "YEAHHHHHH!!!!" and swiftly departed to carry out their newfound responsibilities.

Andromon watched them leave with a hint of amusement, appreciating their newfound dedication to the cause. He knew he had his own work to complete, including finishing the special orders from Bulkmon and Leomon, who had sought his assistance. With a final glance at the enthusiastic Numemon, Andromon entered his private workshop, prepared to fulfill the remaining orders from his colleagues.

x-x-x-x-x

Andromon found himself in his workshop, surrounded by computers and various machines dedicated to crafting customized chips for his fellow Digimon. As he had mentioned before, he had an order from Bulkmon to fulfill. Andromon had already created a chip to enhance Bulkmon's abilities as a Champion Digimon.

However, a new challenge had arisen. Bulkmon was on the brink of evolving into an Ultimate Digimon, and the chip that Andromon had initially crafted was perfectly tailored for Bulkmon's current form, not his impending evolution.

Recognizing the need to adapt to the situation, Andromon decided not to waste resources on a chip that would soon become obsolete. Instead, he resolved to create a more traditional chip that would be suitable even for Bulkmon's Ultimate form when the time came.

Andromon understood that creating a specialized chip for Bulkmon's current stage would be inefficient, as Digimon was on the brink of advancing further. So, he focused on producing a chip that would suit the most physically oriented Digimon.

Andromon began his work by accessing the central database compiled by Datamon, pulling the necessary data for crafting Bulkmon's new chip. His primary goal was strengthening Bulkmon's affinity for thunder and enhancing his physical strength.

Andromon wanted to include even more enhancements in the chip, but he recognized the limitations of working on a Champion Chip as opposed to an Ultimate Chip. The storage capacity for information was more restricted in Champion Chips, and the quality of some abilities was lower.

Furthermore, Andromon understood that he wasn't all-powerful and couldn't simply create data from nothing. He needed a reference or sample for all the modifications he made. So, he could only draw from the database collected by Datamon.

As Andromon sifted through the data, he pondered the various possibilities, contemplating the different races and their attributes. The database was a treasure trove of information gathered from years of interaction with these races.

"Yokais, Devils, Fallen Angels, beast-kind, elves, humans, machines, plants, vampires, dragons, angels…" Andromon muttered as he rapidly reviewed the list of races in their database.

With a specific goal in mind, he aimed to incorporate some elements of monster slaying into Bulkmon's chip, making it more versatile and not just an upgrade to Bulkmon's personal strength. After some contemplation, he decided to include data on vampires, dragons, and devils, grouping vampires and devils together for efficiency.

Since they were going to wars against the Tepes clan, such killers would help Bulkmon greatly. As for the dragon and devils?

It was a reassurance of the threat known as Rizevim, as we didn't know how far his plan reached.

Anyway, Andromon, who finally had everything on him to make Bulkmon's data Andromon, worked diligently in his workshop for hours and days, rarely leaving his workbench, driven by his commitment to complete the chip tailored for Bulkmon. The Digimon under his command were also diligent, ensuring they did not disturb their busy boss.

After three days of intensive effort, Andromon had finally completed the chip for Bulkmon. He carefully reviewed the data and made the final adjustments.

Chip Name: Thunder Dragonic Slayer Chip (Mutated)

Effect: Designed exclusively for Bulkmon, focusing on enhancing his physical strength, resilience, and agility, providing advantages against specific types of monsters and his thunder abilities.

Attributes:

1. Draconic Strength: Bulkmon's physical attacks are significantly boosted, increasing their power by 15%.

2. Monster Slayer: Bulkmon inflicts 15% more damage to Dragon-type and Dark-type monsters.

3. Thunder Mastery: Bulkmon's thunder-based attacks receive an 18% damage boost, making him exceptionally effective when using lightning-based abilities.

-Mutation-

Brave Heart: This chip enables Bulkmon to adapt to various types of opponents, granting a 2% bonus to his defence and offence against each enemy he faces in a single battle, capping at 5.

As Andromon examined the chip's properties, he couldn't help but be intrigued by a new phenomenon that had never appeared in his chip-making process. The mutation of the chip was unexpected and unique. It had never occurred since he made a chip for his Emperor. This discovery greatly surprised Andromon, and he pondered the possibilities and implications of this new development.

While he had little data to explain this phenomenon, Andromon's curiosity was piqued. He wanted to find a way to make such mutations occur more frequently in future chip creations.

For now, Andromon set aside this thought as he had one more tailored chip to craft, and time was of the essence. He carefully stored Bulkmon's chip in a secure container and then returned to his workbench to prepare the next one.

- [Griselda Quarta] -

In a church in Italy, a stunning woman attracted the attention of many and various believers inside the church. She was Griselda Quarta, a powerful exorcist and a disciple of the strongest exorcist.

Griselda, appearing as a woman in her twenties with captivating blue eyes, hailed from Northern Europe and possessed features that made her stand out as an actress.

On a quiet day, as she strolled through the church corridor, Griselda received an assignment from the higher-ups of the church. She followed the inner chamber's winding path and halted at the entrance of a particular door.

Knocking gently, she heard a youthful voice from within, asking, "Who is it?"

"Dulio, it's me, Griselda," she replied without hesitation, "You have an assignment from the Pope and Strada."

The boy inside the room, Dulio, responded with a disappointed frown, "Ah, Griselda, that's hardly fair! They said I could take a break after our last mission, and I had plans to go abroad. I even booked my flight and was looking forward to some sweets."

Griselda didn't entertain his complaints for long, interrupting him with a firm statement, "That's all well and good, Dulio, but are you going to let me inside your room?"

Dulio suddenly remembered, and a bead of sweat formed on his forehead as he quickly jumped out of bed. He had no desire to anger Griselda and was well aware of the consequences of her wrath.

He didn't want to anger Griselda as he knew how terrible it would end for him as he experienced the anger of this beautiful exorcist many times in the past.

Dulio suddenly felt tired as he didn't want to do anything anymore. He sighed from the bottom of his heart and, opened the door of his room and was greeted by the beautiful smile of his senior.

"Thank you for coming, Dulio," she said as she entered the room, casting an assessing eye over the boy.

Dulio Gesualdo was a handsome young man with blond hair and green eyes dressed in priestly attire. His charming looks indicated a future as a heartthrob.

Griselda empathized with his frustrations, as she, too, had experienced the difficulty of being an exorcist during her early years. Yet, it was a burden they had to bear, as talented and experienced individuals were in short supply.

Many humans perished before reaching their full potential, while otherworldly races, *Cough* *Devils* *Cough* abducted others.

The Church placed high expectations on Dulio, a talented human they had discovered by chance. He possessed the Zenith Tempest, a powerful Sacred Gear known as the Prison of Bright Heavenly Thunder. It was ranked as the second-strongest Longinus, one of the original thirteen created by the Biblical God. This Sacred Gear had world-altering capabilities that could potentially destroy the world if misused, allowing its user to manipulate the weather and elemental attributes in nature, including control over fire, wind, lightning, water, earth, and ice.

That's one of the many reasons but the primary reason why the Church had a lot of expectations on Dulio.

"So, what's my assignment?" asked Dulio with resignation, as he knew he couldn't escape his life and could only postpone his trip until much later.

He would definitely dip after this mission and go MIA for a long time!

Believe it!

Griselda, who was ignorant of Dulio's dark thoughts that would cause trouble to her and many people in the church, explained the task to Dulio.

Griselda understood the weight of the Church's mission as she relayed to Dulio about the mission. "We're headed to Romania for a mission of rescue and elimination."

Dulio, who had reluctantly accepted his fate, inquired, "So, are we hunting vampires? What's going on? And when you say 'we,' who do you mean?"

Usually, the vampires were a perfect training ground for most experienced novice exorcists since most vampires were trash except for the vampires under Queen Carmilla.

As for the vampires from the Tepes, they were more in tune with their urges and desires. So, most of the time, they were dealing with a beast with no brain.

"That's correct. We'll be hunting vampires, but it's not as simple as it seems. Queen Carmilla in Romania is rallying her forces, and we suspect she's preparing for a clash with the Tepes."

Dulio's demeanour shifted, his earlier nonchalance replaced with a sense of seriousness. "So, we're here to contain the situation?"

Griselda nodded, adding, "Yes, but it's also an opportunity to rescue the humans trapped in Tepes territory. We'll be heading into dangerous territory, and our superiors attach great importance to this mission."

Dulio contemplated the situation and then asked, "When do we leave?"

Griselda replied, "Right now. I'm here to inform you, Dulio. You must pack your belongings and meet me outside the church in 30 minutes."

With that, Griselda left the room without looking back. Dulio lay on his bed, deep in thought, knowing that his leisurely life was still out of his reach.
