Chapter 20: (New End)

We have now prepared for the fight against the 'Azure Dragon'.

It's been two weeks since we have received the world <quest> and it's time to kill it.

We bid farewell to the people at the castle and Angelica also went to see us off.

"Good luck heroes, I'll be waiting your return."

Angelica shot a glare at me before turning back and heading back to do her business, I was clueless as to why she did that.

We rode a carriage up to a point where even the horses and driver froze from fear.

Yuki stood up and said to the driver.

"We'll be walking from here."

"Thanks Wilson."

"Ah no problem."

The carriage went back and we started walking. It was rather peaceful although the thought of going here is suicide in enough if itself.

Everyone was tensed up due to the fact that I don't have a plan, and Zei the smartest one in the group, is absorbed into the book she's reading while walking.

Midori hit me on the back of the head, obviously trying to ease up the tense atmosphere.

"No day dreaming! We're about to fight the 'Azure Dragon'."

I went along with Midori's antics on trying to ease up the atmosphere.

"Ouch! No need to hit me, look at Zei she's reading a book while walking, shouldn't you scold her instead of me?"

Midori hit me on the head a few times, and Chieko begun chuckling and so as Yuki.

"Stop master Midori! My savior is hurt."

Kayda began pampering me and I noticed a new great sword on her back, Ryoto instead of helping me he sided with Midori.

"Akamine-sama, Midori is right you know, we're about to fight an adversary probably stronger than anything we've faced up until now."

"Yeah, yeah."

I looked at Kayda and I asked but I feel like I shouldn't.

"Kayda where did you get the new sword?"

Midori flinched and began walking faster.

Kayda answered my question, but it was not a surprise to think about it, Kayda's mother is 'Tiamat' but what was shocking is that it's only now she decided to give her daughter anything.

We've walked for quite some time and finally reached the mouth of the cave. We sat on the ground and rested I sat next to Zei and asked.

"I'm reading a grimoire given to me by Angelica."

"Well after you're done reading get ready to buff us."

Zei gave me a thumb up and, I looked at the sky and raised my right hand revealing a mark.

It has been 2 to 3 months since we've arrived to this place, I was just a student before but now I'm fighting a dragon.

Midori gave a speech in the front but I didn't bother listening after that, Zei stood up and began buffing us.

Kayda readied her great sword, Ryoto unsheathe his two katanas, Chieko was done tuning with her arrows, Yuki picked up his sword and shield, Midori tied her hair up.

"Come on let's go My savior."

I stood up and unsheathe my sword.

"Rai focus."

I nodded and we entered the cave, inside was like an ancient ruin with destroyed buildings everywhere, not only that the ceiling of the cave is so far up. At this sight I felt confident that we might able to beat it, if I used the 'Judgement of Light and Darkness'.

"Just the mana lingering in this place, makes me want to go back home." Zei said that, our most powerful magic caster said that! The only time when we felt like that was when we met Angelica for the 1st time.

When we entered a huge open area, there it was, we saw it looking at us, as if it already new we will arrive.

Its scales on its body as its name suggests it's the color of dark azure and its black eyes looking at us like insignificant creatures.

[You have entered a 'Private' area]

It let out a deafening roar and the whole mountain shook. As it get readied to release a breath attack

"Get ahold of yourselves!" I shouted at my party members as life returned back to them.

"Chieko, Zei, stay far back Yuki you handle any breath attack! And Midori, Ryoto, Kayda you guys will be the main damage dealers!"

I took out the scale as I ready to judge it. But I see no sin, as if it's a new born no it's like it just got summoned here like that.

I slapped myself in the cheek and I equipped the 'dragon soul gem' so that we could gain an upper hand against it.

The breath attack was released a bright blue light, hit the shield of Yuki which seems to be hundred times larger than before.

"RAGHHHH!!!"

Although it was blocked, the heat of the blast was hot enough to melt the buildings behind us. We only survived due to our stats.

The breath attack stopped and it began flying. Chieko and Zei fired magic and arrows alike but it only bounced off of it.

Then I could feel death was in front of us I peeked at its stats but the only thing I could see is where the value of its stats is.

Stats: (Str): 8500 (Agl): 8000 (Vit): 9975

(Int): 7800 (Magic Power): 7690

I looked at Zei, who also saw it, and she was now chanting something underneath her breath, unlike 'Igneous' who was toying with us in the past and was using only a portion of its power. This one was not pulling any punches.

"Who gives a crap if it's stronger than us!"

This made me really pissed, in the distance thunders could be heard and the ceiling shattered striking the dragon in the back.

But it was not fazed instead with one flap of its wings, all of us were blown away crashing onto the ruined building.

I looked up and saw Kayda with draconic wings on her back, and a tail which has grown from her behind, flying up to it and engaged in close quarters combat.

"Everyone regroup I have a plan!"

Zei who was next to me bloodied was still chanting, I could see Midori, Ryoto, Yuki and Chieko making their way here.

"What's the plan tactician?" Yuki sarcastically said, I looked at his condition which is really severe.

"Chieko could you ground that thing."

Kayda fell from the sky but immediately went back up this time more powerful than before.

"I don't know if I can, but I'll see what I can do."

"Good enough."

I then looked at Ryoto and Yuki.

"Ryoto and Yuki, once it's grounded we'll have to attack it with everything we've got."

"Yes Akamine-sama."

"Well I'll heal myself first."

Then lastly Midori and Zei which will be the key to this fight.

"Zei once you're ready unleash every single magic spell you have on the 'Azure Dragon'."

Midori looked at me as she suspected that she would have an important role.

"Midori, we need you to deal the final blow."

Midori nodded and we get ready.

Rai- Kayda! Hold on a bit longer Chieko will assist you.

Kayda unleashed all the mana in her body to keep up with the dragon. And Chieko was chanting.

[Oh twin <gods> Appolo and Arthemis please grant my arrow the power to punish this tyrant]

The arrow was shot and Kayda immediately backed away from the fight. The 'Azure Dragon' was hit by the arrow and fell onto the ground.

"Ryoto, Yuki, on me!"

My blade was then enveloped in white lightning as I dashed through the buildings.

Ryoto wielded his two swords and they became one, it became the sword of a japanese god.

"Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi!" Ryoto shouted as he began slashing away.

Yuki soon followed and was being enveloped in white light and then a message popped up.

His armor which was broken so as his shield, was completely reforged and now he has wings on his back.

'BOOOMMMM!!'

With each of Yuki's swing loud 'booms' can be heard, but it was not easy the dragon swung its tail onto me but Yuki blocked it holding his ground.

I then jumped from his back and sliced the tail of the dragon, The sword which evolves along its user was effective as it managed to slice the tail.

'ROOOAAAARRR!'

It then roared again this time, quick bursts came out of its mouth, it was like rapid firing missiles.

Zei- I'm ready.

When we got the signal The three of us already jumped away and rushed behind Zei, behind Zei we saw Kayda and Chieko on the ground resting completely drained of mana, then Zei said in a booming voice.

[Taste the power of the <Ancient Sage of Destruction>]

Zei raised her staff and multiple magic circles appeared right before her.

[Summus Mortem]

The 'Azure Dragon' sensed it and made a full power breath attack, as the two blasts meet each other it stopped in the middle, causing an explosion that blasted the whole top of the mountain off.

The dust settled and we survived but Zei flopped onto the ground alive but severely injured.

Then we heard a roar from the distance, the dragon was still standing even if it lost his wing, eye, and arm, was looking at us.

"You guys may rest I'll deal with him."

I looked at Midori whose golden aura was shining and her blade violently shaking as cracks began spreading again on her blade.

Midori disappeared from our sight and engaged in the battle against the dragon. However her sword broke after just a few swings.

The dragon swatted Midori making her crash onto the wall then I stood up.

"Midori catch!"

I threw my sword at her and she caught it. She flames erupted from the blade and it took the shape of a dragon, she then dashed towards it with full strength slashing away at the dragon.

'ROOOAAAARRRR!!!"

It tried fighting back but simply was now too weak. The dragon is now dead.

I summoned back my sword and Kayda cried in tears of joy, Ryoto shouted, and Yuki just sighed in relief.

"Now I really want to go home." I complained as I don't want to fight more enemies like that.

"Well then at least all of us can make it back together."

Chieko said as she heard me complain.

Midori went to us joining on the celebration... the message that we killed the dragon never appeared. Then we heard a voice and then our movements were impaired.

[If... I go... down... I'll... at least... take one of you with me!]

A blue orb emerged from its body and aimed itself to Chieko, Chieko tried to run but all of their movements were impaired, but not mine.

"Sorry Chieko, but you guys have to return safely."

"Huh?"

I blocked the orb that was about to hit Chieko.
