chapter 14: it’s all Yun Jo ?

Author's Note: unfortunately I couldn't logically finish off the northern Gangbuk in this chapter.

================================

Author's POV (location of Yun Jo's building)

"By the way, got a light?" he asks, putting a cigarette to his lips.

Daniel was slightly thrown off by the sudden request and Hanju took the opportunity to close the distance between them and strike him with a bat.

As expected from someone with XXX rank stats, the attack connected with Daniel's forearm as he tried to block the blow.

"I knew you'd block it, idiot," said Hanju, smiling slightly at the sound it made when his metal bat hit Daniel's forearm.

"His arm must be out of commission now unless that scumbag Yun Jo is watching us and helps him," thought Hanju as he threw his metal bat at Daniel's face when he backed away.

Although the blunt weapon collided with his face, causing a nosebleed, Hanju could tell Daniel hadn't completely dropped his guard despite taking the projectile head-on.

"You're pretty tough under that nice guy facade," said Hanju, trying to provoke him by throwing a low kick to unbalance him.

"And you, you've changed, you don't just rely on boxing anymore," replied Daniel, countering his low kick with one of his own which turned out to be a bad idea.

After their feet connected, Daniel staggered from the sudden pain caused by the hardness of Hanju's foot.

Seizing this opportunity, Hanju unleashed a flurry of boxing techniques on him, from simple jabs to uppercuts.

"Well, despite my training it seems I still overestimated the northern Gangbuk's level," thought hanju, lighting his cigarette with his own lighter since Daniel wasn't a smoker.

"Yun Jo, I know you can hear me," he said, walking while dragging Daniel by the leg.

"I'll come pay you a visit soon," he added with a cruel smile spreading across his face.

After saying this, Hanju began searching for Yun Jo's location in each room on the floor, much to poor Daniel's misfortune as he was dragged across the ground the whole time.

"We finally meet," he said, exhaling cigarette smoke in front of an individual sitting at a desk with a beautiful woman and a burly man.

"How did you know ?" asked Yun Jo flatly, looking at Hanju.

"You don't need to know that, Mr. Brainwasher. Once I'm done with you, you'll regret getting powers beyond your control," he said, flicking away the cigarette butt.

"You were stupid to come here alone, soon all my men will be here," he said, signaling to the woman and man.

"Sorry hun but Yun Jo wants you dead," she said with a smile that could charm even a boulder.

"Screw off slut," said Daniel, throwing unconscious Daniel's body towards the woman while rushing at the tall man who must be number 3.

Seeing Hanju charge at him, the man threw a punch that Hanju dodged before grabbing his arm and throwing him into the woman who still had Daniel's body on her.

"I like aikido, not you?" he said, looking at Yun Jo sitting calmly.

"I should finish this guy off, system users can be hard to handle sometimes," thought Hanju, breaking a chair to get a piece of wood to use Hyeondong Lee's Tooling skill.

"I'll end this using this, and please don't die," he said, looking at the burly man known as Great Mountain.

"You're arrogant," Jeongdu Ma said, rushing at Hanju but unfortunately for him, he ended up with the broken chair leg jammed into his shoulder.

"Like I said before, please don't die," Hanju said softly before removing the makeshift stake from his shoulder.

"I hope that after I bash your skull in with this, you'll dispose of his body," said Hanju casually, noticing the woman from before had vanished from the room.

" The girl or the cloud left or is hiding" hanju Said mentally, closely observing his surroundings.

"Watching you in person, I better understand Daniel's defeat," said Yun Jo slowly, rising to calmly walk towards Hanju.

"He must want to use Mana Drain on me," thought Hanju, tightening his grip on the chair leg.

"He can't touch me," he concluded mentally, watching his environment to control the cloud.

Hanju wasn't afraid of Yun Jo but knew the horror of his Mana Drain card, which is why he took the initiative to attack Yun Jo.

Hanju activated the AI sync and swung the chair leg using his Kali skills and Hyeondong Lee's Tooling.

Just as Yun Jo moved to block, the trajectory abruptly changed to connect with his ribs.

Yun Jo couldn't hide his surprise at the sudden shift but it wasn't the end of their clash.

Hanju could see all the holes in Yun Jo's attacks and despite his martial arts knowledge, Yun Jo lacked real combat experience.

"This idiot must have greatly relied on brainwashing and his underlings to become the leader of this district," concluded Hanju, wanting to finish him off with one last head blow but strangely, his attack didn't connect.

[Alert....]

[Yun Jo is using some kind of energy shield]

[Analysis underway...]

"As expected of AI," smiled Hanju, knowing it was doing its job analyzing Yun Jo's abilities to replicate later.

"Who do you think you are, Hanju?" Asked Yun Jo quietly, backing away with a look of rage.

"Me? No one in particular but today I'll be the one educating you," hanju said casually but the room was filled with an enormous bloodlust.

"I'll teach you that commandeering someone's free will is disgusting and for that you'll be my slave," he added with a sadistic smile.

"Me? Your slave? What a joke," said Yun Jo, laughing for the first time since they'd met, but Hanju didn't appreciate it and threw a chair at his face.

As the chair collided with Yun Jo's face, Hanju rushed in to finish him off but unfortunately was tackled from behind.

"If someone had told me a madman would attack the boss in our base one day..." said a young man dressed like an intellectual, entering the room.

Hanju wasn't interested in the newcomer's words. He grabbed the one who'd tackled him by the waist and threw him at Yun Jo with his superhuman strength.

"The more I beat you down, the more you come,"Hanju expressed , looking at the gang members trickling into the room one by one.

"You're arrogant, you're facing the full might of the northern Gangbuk," said a young man wielding a golf club.

"So what?" he said casually, brushing his hair back and observing the Gangbuk executives.

"Come at me, I'll beat you down then you'll be my stepping stones to the top," hanju stated seriously.

Author's Note: Unfortunately for Hanju, he can't deal with Yun Jo without going through his officers first.
