Chapter 33: Ra’s Croneworld

"This is amazing!" Hermione said as she explored the Ancient Outpost Terra Atlantus. The Magi stationed here, studying magic, looked at her with curiosity. Who was this person who could talk so freely with the Emperor?

"It truly is. I can't wait to see Atlantis," Harry said as he accompanied her through the outpost.

"So the Atlantis expedition is not just a front to recruit witches and wizards to the Empire? You are planning a full expedition there?" She asked with an excited glint in her eyes.

"Yes, some circumstances have made me decide to accelerate some plans. It's a bit of a risk; the Wraith are a really powerful foe. The only thing stopping them is their lack of good power generation technology, which limits what they could accomplish. If this were to change, I fear even the technology of the Lanteans would have a hard time outperforming them," Harry admitted.

"And these circumstances are the Asgard and the Nox, maybe also the Furlings," Hermione pointed out, having seen it in his mind. "Are you sure you don't want to just talk to them?"

"I have considered them. But I simply can't predict how they would react to the Magus Race. The Nox are a pacifistic race, but I can't predict what they would do if they considered their race in danger. And that's what we are—our empire has imperialistic ambitions and the technology to threaten them. Even if we don't plan to attack them, would they just accept that? Even if the Nox do nothing, just keep themselves hidden away from the Galaxy. I don't believe the Asgard would do the same. They are peacekeepers with the will to enforce them. Although they don't wage war lightly, they do it if necessary. I don't know why they allowed the Goa'uld to spread so far; there may be a treaty or something in place. I didn't integrate myself so well into Goa'uld society. After all, the Asgard were actively waging war against them when Osiris was just free. Shortly before his imprisonment, they convinced the Nox and the Furlings to land a decisive strike on Ra's Croneworld Heliopolis, the old meeting place. Wiping it completely free from his influence, leaving only the old fortress intact. That's what triggered Osiris to attack Ra," Harry explained.

"Hmm, so you plan to become powerful enough to be able to withstand their forces if necessary before revealing yourself to them?" Hermione asked, nailing the point on the head.

"Exactly. From what I learned, the Asgard are not much less than the Ancients now; some aspects may even outshine them. While I don't know much about the technological level of the Nox, And I have heard nothing about the Furlings at all," Harry admitted.

"I will go with you to Atlantis," Hermione said with an excited glint. "When are you ready to give me my symbiote so I can receive the necessary knowledge?"

"Well, there is a slight problem. I don't have a suitable Goa'uld Queen to modify. But I may be able to capture one soon. My fifth ship is almost finished, which will give me enough firepower to establish myself at least as a System Lord. Of course, I will have to announce my existence first," Harry explained.

"Okay, I can't wait to see all the things you are talking about and I've seen in your memories," she admitted while placing a kiss on his cheek, showing him that she trusted him.

"By the way, wasn't Heliopolis a legendary Suncity, a place of learning and knowledge under the Sun God Ra?" Hermione asked, remembering having read about it.

"These legends are based on it. But it was never on Earth. The planet Heliopolis, which served as Ra's Croneworld before Earth, was his center of power and production. But before that, the planet was a meeting place between the members of the Great Alliance—the Ancients, the Nox, the Asgard, and the Furlings. When the Ancients left the galaxy, that alliance fell apart. They were still friendly with each other but no longer used Heliopolis as a meeting place."

"Until Ra found it?" Hermione guessed.

"Yes, the planet is rich in natural resources. It has large deposits of naquadah, trinium, and neutronium. It even had a perfect climate for humans. This planet would make a perfect Croneworld if not for the united strike against Ra. Although they meant to preserve the planet, unfortunately, they caused the planet to leave its orbit, making its climate mostly uninhabitable. In a few million years, it will land in the sun," Harry sighed. "Neither the Furlings nor the Nox nor the Asgard had the technology to fix the orbit."

"But the Ancients do, don't they?" Hermione guessed.

"Oh, yes, there are a few options. A planetary engine, mass manipulator, artificial gravity, causing a rain of enough asteroid rain, and so on," Harry counted what came into his mind. "The Ancients have a collection of terraforming technologies, even on a planetary level."

"So it would be possible to fix Heliopolis?" Hermione confirmed while they arrived at the Stargate.

"Well, not right now, but with Atlantis, it would work," Harry replied. "Why are you asking?"

"Wouldn't a planet with a large amount of natural resources not be a wonderful Croneworld? Even if it takes a bit of terraforming to restore its habitable climate, From what I understand, the Goa'uld don't know any more about it. In their minds, it is a dying world at most. Or would it take too much time to be worth considering?"

"No, you have a point. Right now, I have nothing more than a few temporary settlements on a few planets, quickly constructed, in order to build a fleet. A terraformed heliopolis would make a wonderful Croneworld. Its hidden location would give us enough time to build up enough defenses that we could defend ourselves before anyone realizes we are even there," Harry realized as he thought about it. With Atlantis and these natural resources, they could become a major power in the galaxy in a few years.

While Harry was thinking things through, Stargate activated. Hermione watched as the ancient device connecting planets all over the galaxy lit up and a connection from another planet formed. One of the magus manning the gate room called out, "Your Majesty, it's from Nimbus Prime. The Basilisk has returned from its mission and is waiting to report to you."

"Thank you. Tell them that I will be there in a few hours." Harry nodded before turning towards Hermione.

"'The Basilisk'?" Hermione asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Pansy wanted the second ship named in honor of Slytherin." Harry shrugged his shoulders. "The first one is called 'The Gryffin'. The Basilisk had a critical mission to gather some supplies necessary for the expedition to Atlantis. Let's hope it was successful. It would make things much easier."

"I see. I hope so too. I still can't believe that Pansy Parkinson of all people is now your concubine," Hermione sighed, the last word a bit hesitant coming over her lips.

"What should I say? She is hot. I was in trouble. One Parasite with a God Complex Later And here we are," Harry admitted.
