Chapter 50

Mira and the Mandalorians were in their gunships. They had just broken past the defense fleet that the Hutts had put up and there were several fighters hot on their tails.

"We go for the capital! Take out anyone foolish enough to hold a blaster and all droids," Zilvarth gave his commands over the comm links. "We drop in 5. 4. 3. 2."

The bottom of the gunships opened, releasing the Mandalorians who were sitting atop large, green droids. The Mandalorians and the droids under them began to descend rapidly through the atmosphere like meteors crashing toward the capital.

"Engage the propulsion systems. If anyone goes splat, you will not be called Mandalorians when you die," Zilvarth told them all

The droids began to activate their propulsion systems to slow down their descent once they reached close enough to the planet's surface. Just before anyone crashed into the ground, the droids were able to stop their descent and stay in the air before ascending and moving rapidly through the streets, killing anyone who was armed.

The Mandalorians and their Basilisk Droids tore through the defenses of Magravia without any difficulty. Their speed and damage output made it impossible to stop them, along with the fact that the Mandalorians were so spread out. At most, two would be together and tearing through a particular part of the city but most of the Mandalorians were fighting independently with their droids underneath them. This unique way of fighting meant that the Margravians were unable to properly counter them without leaving a portion of their city open to attack.

So they did the next best thing. The commanders ordered most of their troops to fall back to the center of the city and form a perimeter there. Although they would have lost most of the city and over half of their men by giving this order, they were able to secure their command center.

Mira saw what they were doing and smiled under her mask. She turned her Basilisk Droid around to go and attack any soldier that had yet to join up with the rest of the men. This is what all the Mandalorians had done.

Instead of going after the center of the city, they caused havoc all throughout the rest of the city. Missiles were fired all over, bursts of plasma tearing through any armored vehicles, laser cannons killing all too slow to hide. And those were just the droids.

The Mandalorians atop them fired blaster bolt after blaster bolt, rarely missing a shot. Every Magravian and Hutt soldier that hadn't reached the center of the city was exterminated without fail.

Once they had completed their extermination, the Mandalorians did not charge straight into the center where the command center was. Instead, they all started making their way to the walls and took out the various turrets that defended the city.

Once the turrets were taken out, several dropships made their way through the atmosphere and landed in the city, dropping off several hundred Zaku IIs.

"Form up in 4 groups under Boxe, Mira, Suxon, and myself," Zilvarth ordered his Mandalorian warriors. "Have the Zaku break up their defenses. Then we shall tear them apart!"

"Yah!" the Mandalorians roared. Even with only 30 members, their battle cry could be heard all across the city, striking fear into the hearts of citizens and soldiers alike.

The Zaku began marching their way through the city, striking fear into the hearts of the citizens who saw them. But when they saw that the Zaku did not open fire on any of them, they realized that this battle did not involve them. Many of the civilians began to silently thank the Yautja for leaving them out of the battle. They had seen too many times when civilians were killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Zaku reached the perimeter that the military had established and began unleashing hell on all the soldiers and tanks present. Their heavy armor allowed the Zaku IIs to take much more punishment than the soldiers could and they marched without fear. The army of droids marched directly through the heavy blaster fire while returning it themselves.

Mira sat atop her droid and watched the battle from a rooftop. When she saw that the army was truly distracted by the Zaku IIs, that was when she decided to make her move.

"Let's go!" Mira commanded the others while igniting both of her lightsabers.

Her group of Mandalorians jumped off the building while using their jets to quickly soar through the air and reach the walls that the Magravians had set up. None of the soldiers were prepared for the sudden attack, dying in the hail of blaster fire and plasma bolts.

Mira's forces did not stop there. As soon as they weakened the defenses at the wall and created an opening for the Zaku, they began to charge forward, not worried about their flanks.

The command tower that housed the politicians that ruled Magravia and the military commanders giving out orders was her true target. Mira led her Mandalorians to the center, killing anyone who stood in their way without prejudice, even having her droid tear apart a few men with its massive claws.

But when she got to the command tower, Mira saw that she was the last to arrive. The tower was already set ablaze with several massive holes in the walls. There were many men and women on their knees with their hands behind their heads.

Boxe stood over them with a blaster rifle in her hands while the other Mandalorians were escorting more officials out of the building.

"Took you long enough," Boxe teased the younger Mandalorian

"Tsk!" Mira clicked her teeth before turning around her Basilisk to go and engage the soldiers they had passed by. Since she couldn't be the first to get to the tower, she wanted to take out her anger on the soldiers who had yet to surrender.

With only a single raid made by 30 Mandalorians, their Basilisk War Droids, and 600 Zaku II, the Yautja were able to take out a city that had an army of more than 10,000 soldiers strong. To all those who had seen this battle and lived to tell the tale, they would spread the legend of the Mandalorians rising once again with their famous mounts back in their hands.
