1 Prologue: The Directive

Rae Sloane, under the orders of Gallius Rax and through her own volition, claimed command of the Imperial Remnant from on board the Eclipse and formed the First Order. She saw through all of the flaws of the original Empire, and now she had a chance to create one in her own image.

However the universe isn't fair, competition and disagreements plagued the New Grand Order of things. The Old Empire was plagued by infighting, murder and corruption. They ruled by terror and that was wrong. If everything had gone differently, if everything had been the way Palpatine had promised, the Galaxy would have had order. Instead it was purposely thrown into Chaos in the name of Order.

It wasn't much different here in the Unknown Regions. Betrayal, backstabbings, treason. The people who were given the coordinates were assumed to be loyal to the Empire. Yet at the same time, they only created seeds of destruction and terror.

The future she wanted, the changes she needed to make in order for that future to come into fruition, obstacles stood before her at every inch.

Soon after she arrived and set down her decree for the First Order to be born, more Imperial Officers, soldiers and children came to the Eclipse. The Fleet began to amass.

Her best friend thought to have been left behind on the planet Jakku after the fall of the Ravager, Morna Kee, arrived shortly after with an unknown face. He claimed to have saved her from the wreckage.

His name was Zakurai Mentus, a former Dark Jedi turned Inquisitor who served Palpatine as a secret member of the Emperor's Hand. He had the same view on the Empire as Rae Sloane, that it was a sinking ship and that her vision was their best hope at survival in the future.

Mentus had blond hair, blue eyes and a tall slender-athletic frame. He had almond shaped eyes and thin lips. His hair was always unkempt in style, but never made it past his jawline.

While he appeared to be a strong indomitable force, he was submissive to Morna Kee's whims and her words. She was his passion ever since he pulled her out of the wreck of the Super Star Destroyer on Jakku after the final battle was over.

His physical appearance was in contrast to her own dark eyes, black hair and pale olive skin tone, as he had pale skin and light features. His jaw was the perfect combination of sharpness and roundedness. His nose was thin dramatically curved nose with a prominent bridge, reminiscent of a very short hawk beak, giving him a strong profile.

By the end of the fifth year After the Battle of Yavin, Morna Kee gives birth to two children, one girl and one boy. Their father indisputably being that of Zakurai Mentus. They name their children Kade and Lyra, their God Mother being Rae Sloane.

Soon after Zakurai Mentus is secretly assassinated, his shuttle exploding during a returning expedition from an imperial archaeological dig. It was ultimately blamed on the 'unstable' cargo it had been carrying, though no evidence was there to support it. With him out of the way however, assassination attempts on the lives of Sloane and her closest officers went on for three more years.

The reason behind the death of Zakurai, was due to the fact that he was not only her primary protector, but also her enforcer. Unlike Darth Vader, he was not as sturdy. While many knew what a Dark Jedi, let alone a Sith, were capable of. That didn't stop them from doing what they did.

At one point Morna Kee takes a hit for Sloane and is mortally wounded, dying in her superior's arms. Sloane herself having been shot in the pelvis, but survives and is no longer capable of naturally making her own children.

Kade who had witnessed this event from the cabinet of the galley, was the only reason why the woman survived. He was only three years old at the time, but he had a natural affinity to the force. It was often believed that Kade and Lyra could talk telepathically to one another since birth, or perhaps even before hand.

Their learning and coordination, teamwork and dedication to one another, was seen by the time they could crawl. When one made a mistake, the other learned from it.

Kade had used his bond with his sister in order to call for help. Sloane's personal advisors and Armitage Hux came to the rescue, though he was still just a boy. Despite Sloane being his adoptive mother, Kade was awarded for his loyalty with a medal, going above and beyond the normal capacity of his youth.

Armitage was protected by Sloane, he was in her debt. In so, he protected her children from his father as he trained the Order's next wave. Though it didn't stop him from being aggressive or from disciplining them for not meeting his quota.

However on top of the training in which they were given by Armitage and his father, the twins were taught everything Sloane knew. She instilled her ideals into the children, and they accepted her words and her thoughts.

Even though they roughly remembered the face of their mother, it was gradually replaced with that of Sloane's. Their admiration for her, soon became their shared dedication. A bond between two, became a bond between three.

Soon enough her children were passed onto other higher ranking officers in order to learn strategy, economics and other militant skills on top of the public civil subjects present in any other school.

The three of them shared a room, they didn't live in the barracks like the other children. Though they weren't spoiled either. This may had even been much harder than living in a barracks as they were living with their Supreme Commander.

One could only imagine the stress from both parties, having to treat your own children as soldiers and probable future enforcers. Their connection through the force hadn't been sensed easily, they didn't make use of the force except for drastic or dramatic instances.

It wasn't until they were twelve years old that their dreams were plagued with nightmarish visions. Death and destruction, entire solar systems being destroyed by an unknown weapon. The person on the throne wasn't their mother and everything that Sloane had been working on was tarnished in the name of power, darkness and terror.

The very things Sloane wanted to avoid, the very things they were taught was wrong with the previous Empire. It had only become worse.

Having learned everything they could from their adoptive parent, their tutelage remained under that of Armitage Hux and his father. As they got older so did Armitage. The more they learned of themselves, as did Armitage. The fact that the two were learning faster than all of the other children combined, made the Huxes wary of them.

However these two had very different reasons. Armitage Hux was beginning to have interest in Lyra, but his aggressive personality and notions weren't acknowledged. She was becoming a weakness that could be used against him. On the other hand her brother was a threat, protective and always in communication with his sister seamlessly, they were always together.

His father believed that they would one day replace him, though he was unawares that his son was planning on replacing him in the near future. Hux was fifteen, they were ten.

The world they knew was relatively the same, except their ideals were completely different. Their motives completely different. The twins wanted to protect their mother, enforce her ideals and bring about a new better Empire in the unknown regions.

Hux wanted to lead, dominate and control the Order. He wanted the be in command. He wanted Sloane's power, just like everyone else who had grown up with the idea of power instilled by Palpatine and his followers.

At twelve years old the twins discovered a planet on long range scans, Rakata Prime, which was a tropical world littered with debris from a long forgotten war. It looked to have been a war between the Republic, Jedi and another unknown faction they knew nothing about.

Upon landing they found hammerhead cruisers, much larger than the ships that had been once used the Rebel Alliance to Restore the Republic. The Imperial Youth started an archeological dig, the goal was to learn more about the Republic preparation in destroying its newest iteration.

The planet was covered in a darkside aura, negativity. However there was one bout of light in the dark. They entered a cruiser and discovered corpses of fallen Jedi and Sith alike. The lightsabers were intact, still operational. However what called to the twins was the small triangular holocron and several kyber memory crystals.

The holocron was made primarily of dark metallic material with a red kyber crystal visible on the inside through the many inscriptions on the pyramid shaped artifact. The object whispered to them through the force, instructed them on opening it. It was as if something wanted to be free from its shell, its prison.

Quickly the children were introduced to the true nature of the force. The spirituality of belief, midichlorians, sources of power and the truth pertaining to the darkside and the light. The guardian of this holocron, it's guide, was once a Jedi who followed both paths of the Order and the Sith.

His name was Revan Shan, a Dark Jedi who turned against the Republic in order to unite the Galaxy against the true Sith Order, only to fall soon after redeeming himself; in turn saving the Republic and Jedi Order respectively. They wore a mandalorian Mask, armor and robes. his past and face was shrouded in mystery, yet his wisdom which had been shared with the children was immense.

However as soon as this holocron had been opened, it brought about their awakening. The aura sensed from the Guardian brought about the attention of something, someone, much darker and sinister amongst the Imperial First Order.

The Imperial Youth stayed on the planet for two weeks, in which the two of them continued to study the holocron. They didn't take it slow. They needed to learn all they could about the force, they had no choice but to memorize all the lessons and to record them on their personal datapads.

Once all of the information was taken from the holocrons, they used a Sith saber to destroy the holocron. A truly dark weapon with a red blade and a devious aura.

The twins soon after began to experiment with what they learned and used the force to take the lightsabers apart. They collected the pieces in little sacks and put them in their satchels.

One year later, the two of them wore the classic Imperial Uniform, dark-grey in color while their mother wore white. Their uniforms decorated with the cadet rank insignia over the left peck and an Imperial mantle over their shoulders to display the First Order's new symbol.

This mantle was to symbolize Knowledge and Power of the First Order under Supreme Commander Rae Sloane. However as she continued to change the ideals of the Order, switch its focuses. The more friction and tensions were created with the conservative members of the Order, as well as their brainwashed children.

Sixteen years after the decisive defeat at the Battle of Jakku, the twins made their first lightsabers out of the black and white chassis's of F-11D blaster rifle carbines of the First Order. Through their knowledge taken and memorized from the holocron and its memory crystals, they created pure white kyber crystals as they attuned them through the force. This gave their new weapons a silvery, firy, blade. Their confinement fields adjusted to give the weapon's all-around-edge the form of a flat physical blade measuring three to four feet in length. It was reminiscent of the Darksaber when it came to the shape of the hilt, but the blade itself was thin when it came to the width.

It symbolized purity, Sloane took it upon herself after discovering their gifts to increase her influence over the junta. She claimed they were to be the symbol of might accumulated by the Order, but the dark entity known as Snoke had other plans with his political debut...
