73 Chapter 70: The Phantom Menace Episode V

[Judicial Arcology, Coruscant]

(3rd Person: POV)

Sitting in one of the many officer lounges within the Judicial Forces headquarters Adar Tallon wore a disgusted expression on his face.

As did most of the other officers within the officer lounge with him at the moment.

All due to the holofeed's being sent from Naboo.

The officers were angry at the Trade Federation for their actions, but most of all angry at the Republic for not sending them in to deal with the situation.

"This is disgraceful." One officer spoke.

"We're supposed to be the ones who stop shit like this, yet here we are sitting on our hands and knees." Another officer said.

"What are those idiot bureaucrats doing at a time like this?!" Yet another office shouted.

All the while Adar Tallon was losing more and more faith in the Republic.

Wishing there was a better answer than it out there in the galaxy.

--------------------------------

Sitting alone in his room at the Jedi Temple Dooku's already waning faith in the Republic and Jedi Order began fizzling out entirely.

For watching the holofeed's coming from Naboo he felt a righteous furry burn within him.

For he was a Jedi, and was taught they were the protectors of the people.

Yet seeing what was happening on Naboo, and seeing how the Jedi nor the Republic made a move to stop it, solidified in his mind a choice he had been wresting with for a while.

It was to leave the Jedi order.

For if Dooku could not protect the people as a Jedi he would so in another manner.

Perhaps as the Count of Serenno.

His homeworld.

Dooku would very much like to spend more time with his sister, Jenza after all.

-------------------------------

Seeing what was happening to Naboo and it's people Sora Bulq recalled the conversations he had been having with the Sith Lord he had encounter on his family estate months ago.

A situation Bulq still had troubling believing occurred.

Yet the fact of the matter is it did.

And since it did Bulq had been in regular communication with said Sith Lord.

The Weequay Jedi master knew it was wrong. He knew it went against everything the Jedi Order stood for.

Yet he could not stop talking to this Sith Lord, for Bulq found himself agreeing with many his ideas.

That the Republic was rotten and corrupt, that it did nothing to protect its people any more, and that a change was needed.

And seeing the holofeed's from Naboo Bulq agreed entirely.

A change was needed.

Which is why Bulq was going to contact the Sith Lord once again and ask of him what kind of changes he had in mind.

----------------------------

Seeing what was happening on Naboo, and seeing the Republic and Jedi Order not acting, Sifo-Dyas was now more sure than ever in his decision to request a clone army for the Republic from Kamino.

For if this was the start of the coming darkness that would enshroud the galaxy, then the Force help them all.

--------------------------

Watching the holofeed's from Naboo Sidious was greeting his teeth harder than he had in his entire life.

For once again his well laid plans were thrown into disarray.

Of course he is stikk going to turn the current situation to its advantage, but that does not mean he is happy about having to do do.

Not one little bit.

------------------------------

[Naboo, Theed, Royal Palace, Throne Room]

Their entire bodies ice cold Gunray and Haako watched the various holofeed's coming from all over Naboo.

Knowing their Sith Lord friend would not be happy with them.

"Bad, this is very bad." Haako spoke.

"Calm yourself." Gunray spoke. "We simply need to stop the feeds." He said.

"Do not be naive Gunray, we will be lucky to escape with our lives from the Sith." Haako spoke.

Then right after he did so a hologram of Sidious appeared in front of the two.

"It seems as least one of you knows your fate and have accepted it." Sidious spoke.

His voice laced with angry.

"Lord Sidious I beg you, spare us!" Gunray cried in fear.

"And why should I spare the lives of those that continually disappoint me?!" Sidious growled.

A second after he did Gunray and Haako began grabbing at their throats, for Sidious has been using Force Choke on them both.

"I should take your worthless lives right now. But this turn of events can still work to our advantage. So I allow you to continue breathing. But if you do not get the situation on Naboo under control you will wish I killed you right here. Now, stop those holofeed's and wipe out whoever is sending them!" Sidious spoke.

He then released both Haako and Gunray from Force Choke before his hologram disappeared.

Both of them knowing this was their very last chance from Sidious.

So with that in mind Gunray and Haako began making moves to make sure they didn't kriff up their final chance at keeping their lives.

-----------------------

Standing before the Jedi High Council, Anakin stood with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

For they were finally about to give their decision about Anakin's future with the order.

"We have tested the boy, and he has passed." Windu spoke.

"Then he is to be trained as a Jedi?" Qui-Gon asked.

"No, he will not be trained." Windu answered.

"Why? He is the 'Chosen One', you all must see that." Qui-Gon retorted.

"We do not yet know that to be true, master Jinn." A new addition to the council, Ki-Adi-Mundi spoke.

The Cerean Jedi having replaced Sifo-Dyas, who decided to step down from the High Council a few weeks ago.

[Insert Image of Ki-Adi-Mundi Here]

"But his cells have the highest concentration of midi-chlorians of any living being ever recorded." Qui-Gon spoke. "I believe the Living Force itself guided me to him on Tatooine."

"Believe what you wish, our decision stands." Windu spoke.

"The 'Chosen One' he may be, but clouded his future is." Yoda said. "Grave danger I sense in training him in the Jedi arts. Also, too old he is."

"Ridiculous, the Order has accepted older younglings before." Qui-Gon spoke. "Some have sat on this very council." He said.

Referring to master Eeth Koth.

"Our decision stands." Master Tiin spoke.

"Well then if none of you will train the boy, then I will." Qui-Gon said. "I take Anakin Skywalker as my Padawan learner."

"An apprentice you have already Qui-Gon. Never more than one a master may have." Yoda said.

"Then I recommend Obi-Wan for the trials." Qui-Gon spoke. "There is little more he can learn from me, and I know in my heart he is ready." He exolained.

Warming Obi-Wans heart.

"Decide this council will who is ready to the trials." Yoda spoke.

"Let us table young Skywalker's fate for now. We have more immediate concerns. Such as the Naboo situation." Windu spoke. "You and your current Padawan will continue your mission to protect Queen Amidala, as things can escalate at any moment. Especially given the holofeed's about the ongoing situation on Naboo being broadcast all across the holonet."

"Very well " Qui-Gon replied.

He, Obi-Wan, and Anakin then left the high council chamber.

As they did Qui-Gon recalled the conversation he had with Van back on Tatooine.

Making him ponder his future with the order.

For if they would not allow Anakin to be trained then he would do it, regardless of what they said.

-------------------------

And so once again the fate of many were affected by Van's decisions.
