Chapter one:

I was born as a sixteen year old scavenger boy on Tatooine and it looked like my life was going nowhere. My mom and dad had planned to pass down their moisture farm to me once they retired. I had always heard stories about Jedi and how I dreamt of being one. I had built my own lightsaber out of some spare parts but it didn't work, so I just imagined that it did. I had always looked up to Luke Skywalker because he was from Tatooine. One day my life changed when I went to Mos Eisley Cantina. I had been out scavenging and found some cool parts to sell. I then grabbed my portions and went on my way when I sensed someone outside. And it just happened to be Mara Jade, an absolute idol to me. She was joined by her faithful companion R2-D2.

I had stayed quiet while Mara Jade walked passed me. She had grabbed a drink then gently tapped me on the shoulder. Can you meet me outside? She asked me.

I then went outside with no questions asked. What's going on? She asked me. I sense that the Force is strong with you and I would like to show you the ways of the Force. Mara Jade told me.

I would love to, I told her.

What's your name? She asked me.

I'm Travis Larowe. I told her.

Nice to meet you Travis. I will be at my ship waiting for you. Mara Jade told me.

The only problem is that I would have to tell my parents.

Hi mom, hi dad. I said.

Hi Travis, they both said.

Look, before you say anything there's something very important I need to tell you. I'm planning on leaving the planet and learn the ways of the Force. I told them.

Both of my parents laughed at me.

You really think that stuff is real like the Jedi and the Force? My dad asked me.

I believe in it with all of my heart and the Force surrounds us. I replied.

You really need to start working on the farm and get this ridiculous thinking out of your head. My mom said.

I hate you! I said then I ran into my room and cried.

That night while my parents were asleep I snuck out and met Mara Jade at the legendary Millennium Falcon. I had left a note explaining how this was my dream and that I'll be in good hands.

Are you ready kid? Mara Jade asked me.

More ready than ever. I replied to her question.

Alright let's go. Mara Jade said. And R2-D2 chirped happily.
