A nexus point is a decision point at which certain characters make certain decisions that can affect the flow of the future. For example, Anakin attacking Mace Windu at the last second when he was trying to kill Palpatine. This action saved Palpatine and gave him time to attack Mace Windu, resulting in him ascending as the Emperor.

The quests the system gives out will have 'accept' and 'reject' options, and the MC can change the outcome even after rejecting a quest. For example:

"Save Qui-Gon Jinn from being killed."

If he rejects this quest but later decides to complete it, he can still do the quest but won't receive any rewards from the system. However, he will still get the experience gained from kills and such.
