Chapter Thirty-Eight

"You done?"

I asked as Kanan came back from the ship we were selling the Rodian to... Or the information he carried, I didn't really care.

"Yeah, we are ready to leave."

I nodded, sighing and turning back to head deeper inside the Ghost. I have been thinking for a while now, and the plan: Get my biological parents out of prison and disappear... had a lot of problems. Dissapier to where? I could probably make new identities for them and smuggle them off lothal... If I deleted their information on the databases of the empire on lothal, and the planet I would take them to, they could live quietly... but would they?

I don't really think so.

"What are you thinking about?"

I snapped out of my pondering when Kanan asked me a question and just shook my head to focus back on the present instead of the future.

"What I'm going to do to keep my parents laying low once I get them out instead of them projecting protests through the radio like they did before... At least before I find my brother."

I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose in annoyance. The Jail could have broken them, but that was not very likely. They were the people that would use that kind of experience as fuel to their cause...

"Well, take it one step at a time."

I rolled my eyes. This wasn't my first time dealing with problems.

"I'm stuck in the middle of the staircase because they are stubborn, not because I don't know what to do on the next steps."

He hummed but did not say anything as we both entered the main room of the ghost, where Sabine was drinking Coffee... Caf.. Space coffee.

I walk past her and into the hallway and into my room. Grabbing the projector from the table, I projected the prison layout and sat down on my bed, holding the divide with Force in front of me to get a better look from above.

My eyebrows knit together as I frowned, this place was not as well protected as the last prison I broke into but it was... okay, would hold up against civilians.

I had five contingency plans in case some things failed, I had another plan to fall back on.

My finger tapped at my knuckle as I held one hand over the other, my eyes narrowing in the effort to come up with a better plan, but so far, nothing.

I sighed as there was a knock at my door and I waved a hand absently at it, opening it with Force. Zeb walked in, looking at what I was doing for a moment before walking closer.

"Need help?"

I glanced at him and nodded, bringing a spare chair so he could sit. Might as well, brainstorming with two people was better than one.

[I got the files, I'll make sure they get the forged identities as soon as possible, it's the least I can do with how much you are paying me.]

Vizago said as he was looking at a tablet in his hand. I nodded, my mask in place as I turned off the transmission and slumped in my bed. I was so fucking done with this shit.

Taking off my mask, I rubbed the bridge of my nose, narrowing my eyes slightly and exhaling a deep breath. Standing up, I walked out of my room, my hands in my pockets. I did not want to overthink it anymore. They were in a civilian prison, nothing too hard to break in and out of.

I walked into the pilot hatch, narrowing my eyes when I did not see Hera. But Chopper was there... I got a really good idea.

I crouched down, placing a hand on the droid's head.

"Hey, Chop, you want to come with me to break in and out of prison?"

Chopper whirled around.

[I'm in, when are we going?]

I chuckle, standing up and waving him over as I walk out of the pilot hatch and head to find Kanan or Hera.

It did not take long, there were in the main room, Kanan was playing a holographic equivalent of chess with Sabine, only instead of pieces, there were monsters.

"Kanan, Chopper, and I are heading out for two days, also we will need the phantom, you mind?"

Chopped rolled up next to me, swirling his head to stare at Kanan.

"Yeah, yeah..."

He mumbled, waving a hand, trying to focus on the game. Shrugging I walked off to get into the Phantom, levitating Chopper up and putting him inside the small ship, and sat down in the driver seat.

Starting up the Phantom, I detach it from the ghost and fly off, leaving the ship behind, along with Kanan, who would have to explain why two members of the crew were missing, with the second ship.

"You know... I just want to know why you aren't asking any questions...

I ask casually, setting up the autopilot.

[I don't care, I just want to knock some meat bags.]

...Understandable.
