Star Wars: Desolation

(This is a Star Wars Old Republic novel. WARNING!!! Although I added the r-18 tag, I'm not sure if I will add adult content, or if I do, how much. I do hope you all enjoy!) On the run from vengeful nightsister forces, Ragu, a young zabrak warrior, is captured by a group of slavers who came to the planet in search of some valuable product. Ragu does his best to fight back, but is quickly defeated and knocked unconscious. Upon waking up, Ragu finds himself chained, and kneeling in front of a terrifying figure. Clothed in all black and skin blood red, it is impossible for anyone in the galaxy to mistake the figure in front of him for anything other than what it was. A pureblood Sith Lord.

The Way of The Sith

(Short chapter. I have been so busy I am sorry! I will try to get the next one out faster and make it longer.)

Alina leads her master through the hallways of the Sith academy, heading towards the class.

The Sith academy has a very interesting way of teaching its students. Classes are held all day throughout the buildings on a multitude of different subjects, but at no point is any student forced to attend. These classes are optional for all students.

While this originally may seem like a poor way to run the academy, it has proved itself otherwise.

After 6 months, all students are tested on their skills and knowledge. And if they fail, they shall be eliminated.

The Sith don't need useless rats who don't even have the drive to succeed. Because of this, they allow this system to exist.

The advantage to this system, is that all the cadets can do whatever they deem to be the most effective method to train themselves.

They can specialize themselves in certain areas by taking said classes, train their combat by heading to the gladiatorial arena, or expand their knowledge by spending time in the archives.

It allows poor students to fail, and talented ones to excel.

Alina, can't help but nervously glance back at her master as they walk down the mostly empty halls.

She really doesn't know much about him. She has seen his ruthlessness and his almost demonic fighting style, yet he also chose to spare her, rather than to kill her off.

These polar different experiences tend to give her a foggy view of who he truly is.

"Master. Why did you spare me?" She asks.

"I felt like it." Ragu replies simply.

Alina processes this answer. It wasn't what she expected, but she wasn't upset about it either.

The more simplistic and instinctive nature of her master was not one she disliked.

The two reach the door to the room. Entering the classroom, the two head over to the far back right corner and sit down.

Unfortunately, their entrance did not go unnoticed.

Ragu, who is no longer wearing his mask, is recognized by every student within the year. After all, he was the man who killed another disciple by literally ripping his throat out with his teeth.

That is not a scene that is easily forgotten. Some of the students who are sitting near Ragu even stand up and move to the other side of the room.

Ragu pays them no mind. Sitting in the room, the two patiently wait for the teacher to arrive.

As he does so, Ragu finally has some time to reflect on his feelings. His life has far surpassed anything he ever thought it would.

He has grown powerful, feared, respected, and he is well on his way to becoming a legendary Sith.

However, something that has begun to bother him since he arrived at the temple, was the quality of the Sith around him.

From the clearly slimy and slippery Lord Rathas, to the racist and Sith purist that was Lazarus, he has noticed that many Sith are not like the stories.

They were not warriors who sought out combat for valor or to gain even more power, rather, they seemed more like disgusting pigs that wish to revel in the power they possess by suppressing others.

This was not what a true Sith should be in Ragu's mind.

Originally this thought hadn't really crossed his mind, as the only Sith he had met was Kaida and her father.

He knew virtually nothing about her father, but Kaida herself was a shining example of what a Sith should be in his opinion. She was power hungry, focused, and honorable.

These thoughts are pushed to the side when the door swings open, revealing one of Ragu's least favorite people in the academy from his little interactions.

Lord Rathas. Walking up to a podium at the head of the class, the elderly Sith looks around the room before beginning.

"My name is Lord Rathas, I will be in charge of teaching you all the philosophy of the Sith."

Ragu keeps his grievances to himself. Although he dislikes the man, right now he has to shut up and learn.

As the Sith talks a bit more about himself, Ragu exams the miniature desk in front of him.

The desk has no drawers, but is a simple wooden table with a thin stone tablet on it as well as a book made of a strange paper like material.

Careful not to bother Rathas as he is talking, Ragu gently taps Alina on the shoulder.

She turns to him with a questioning expression.

Ragu then whispers, "Alina. Read for me."

Alina is almost confused for a moment before realizing. She quickly nods her head, accepting her master's request.

Ragu, unfortunately, was never granted an education on his home world. His life has been so full of fighting and physical labor, that education was never an option for him.

With this, the lesson begins.
