Insa was wheezing. The invisible hand was tightening around her throat and she struggled to be free of it. Her eyes were begging Hayoung to have mercy but he had none for her. He was lifting her from the floor until they were eye to eye.

"I know you want to kill that girl," he said. His voice was deadpan and striped off of all emotions. "But your father wants to keep her as our special guest. And you are to treat her like that. Understood?"

Insa fervently nodded her head, fearful of what Hayoung might do if she refused. They may have known each other since childhood but he lacked any feelings for her. Unlike her, who only dreamed of becoming his wife, it did not matter to him whom he was betrothed to. He was a lapdog who only knew how to serve the orders of her father. Hayoung may have chanted the spell to throttle her but it was really her father who would kill her if she failed.
