226 An Arrival (5)

Cherry burst into their house, urgently looking for Jinhyun. She scanned around the place, but he was nowhere in sight.

"Jinhyun?" she called out. "Jinhyun?"

"I'm in here!"

His voice came from the study. She quickly dashed inside to find him poring over his notes. He was preparing for his new song which he would be performing with the winner of Rogues 101 and had been quite busy with it. He looked up to notice her serious expression.

"What happened?" he frowned. "You look grave."

"I have to ask you something," she said, putting her bag on a chair and walking up to his desk. "Over these past few days…"

She hesitated to ask him. What if her theory was wrong? He did not want to raise his expectations too high and disappoint him again. His mother was a sensitive topic and she did not want him to get overwhelmed by all the things he was going through. 

"What are you trying to ask?" he probed.
