As soon as we walk past the bar, Angelique sees us and begins heading our way from across the room. The hand Dominik had on my back drops, and I think about what he said in the bathroom—that he would touch me as much as I want. 

But appearances are still important. I'm still Kisa here, and the familiar flame of jealousy starts licking its way up my chest again at the thought that he can't let Angelique know about us. She has to be kept in the dark just like everyone else, and that means she still thinks she has a chance with him. She is still free to try persuading him to sleep with her—whatever the hell that entails. 

Maybe because Ivan is no longer here, Dominik's shield from shadows is no longer in place. I can tell immediately as she approaches and gives me a polite smile. 

"Hey, sorry to bother you," she says with a nervous grimace, glancing my way again.
