91 Hurting and Healing

I'm dressed again when Dominik comes back in the bedroom. He is no longer on the phone with Luka, and I can tell by his expression that he's uncomfortable with whatever came out of that conversation. 

The topic of that conversation is obviously important, but the thing that steals my attention is the wave of protection Dominik comes in on. Even in this cabin where there are no shadows, his presence has a powerful effect on me. 

"I want you to know something," I tell him, because I can feel his troubled emotions. "The whole fated thing you mentioned, I feel it. Even with all of the craziness that we're facing, I have never felt safer than I do now, and it's because you're here. We are meant to be here, right now, in this terrible situation. It isn't a mistake."
