The car ride is uncomfortable. All I can think about is what just happened, and I'm tempted to believe it was a dream. But when Dominik catches my eyes in the rearview mirror, I know it was real. That looks says it was real. 

"Listen," Luka says after we've been driving for awhile, and he turns in his seat so he can see us both at the same time. "It would probably be best if you both know that Matvey intends to show up tonight." 

My obsessive thoughts about Dominik screech to a halt. "What?" The stunned question rushes out of me.

"Why the hell now?" Dom's hands tighten on the steering wheel. 

"Ivan told him about Mark, and Matvey wants to make sure everything is dealt with appropriately so there aren't any unnecessary complications."

"It's already been dealt with, though," Dom says. "Mark has been dealt with. You were there."
