As soon as Matvey leaves the room, the shield that Dom apparently sent my way is taken back, and Luka's shadow reemerges. This time, it's loud. It's loud because I wasn't prepared for it to pop back up so suddenly, and now I can acutely hear and feel the fear running through his mind that he may have miscalculated—that this may not work out quite the way he imagined after all. 

Luka didn't expect Matvey to be so short and explicit and rude, which makes me want to scoff and argue with his secrets. How is someone as smart as Luka who has spent god knows how much time with Matvey miscalculating something like that? Even if I am supposedly carrying a baby with Volkov genes, that man is an absolute monster.
