1 Awakening

In a solar system of a red star, in the planet Krypton. Kal and his family were packing their bags. To run away from monsters as they had invaded the city.

Just before Kal was born; the goddess Cythonna broke out of her prison but a group of heroes imprisoned her. Cythonna was quite a vicious goddess and before she could be trapped she shot out ice that can create monsters.

Kal's father Jor was a scientist along with his wife. They had gone out for a picnic as monsters were not sighted for months but luck wasn't on their side as monsters raided that area. The area wasn't an important place and was has no people living in the land so they were alone.

"Run that way!", Kal's father shouted but he had a calm face. Kal who was a kid did not seem to be surprised by his parents calm face but followed the instructions and ran the direction his father pointed.

Monsters started catching up to them. They were big in size and has spikes on their backs, knuckles and feet. Kal ran with all his might but he could not outrun the monsters so they stopped.

Kal was scared and worried for his parents. A monster ran at them first while the others seem to just watch. Kal's father stepped forward and took a stance like a sword was in his hand. When the monster got near Jor, Jor slashed and the monster was cut in half.

All the monsters jumped in the air towards them but they all froze in the air. Lara, Kal's mother, raised her hand towards the monsters and they were all frozen. Jor flicked his finger and fire seemed to come out of it and kills the monsters instantly.

Both the parents sighed looking at their eight year old son who looked at them in awe.

"ROOOOOAAAAR!", they heard a sound and the calm face on their face turned to worry.

Kal was now trembling as he saw the ice monster. This monster has an ice spear on his hand and he was bigger than the other monsters. His spikes were very big and they seem very sharp.

"That's a new monster I have never seen ones that big", Kal's father said softly to his wife.

It ran at Kal but Jor ran at the monster. He started throwing fireballs at the monster but the monster shrugged it off unlike the other monster. The monster threw his spear at Lara but before it could touch her it just stopped. Jor ran at the monster and kicked it pushing the monster back. The monster punched him back sending Jor flying until he hit a tree breaking it. Jor got up like the punch was nothing more than a fly hitting a mountain. Suddenly a sword appeared in his hands and he charged at the monster.

Another monster appeared behind Lara and but with a swish of her hand the monster was knocked back to a tree and stabbed by the tree's trunk. Weaker monsters keep coming at her and it gets harder for her to keep pushing them back as not all of the shots were lucky like just now.

While his parents were busy fighting monsters. Kal was attacked by a monster of his own. He kicked the monster but it didn't even budge. The monster raised it's arm to hit Kal but it stopped as his mother stopped it but she was hit by another monster knocking her out. One of the monster tried to stab Lara with their spike but Kal ran at it and punched it in the face. Kal was surprised when the monster's head exploded into a million pieces.

Before Kal could move a monster grabbed his arm and another grabbed his other arm. They were about to punch him when red fire erupted out of the sun and hit both the monsters killing them. Kal knew that it was him who shot the fire but he didn't know how he did it but he tried doing again and shot the monster that tried to kill him. The monster did not die like the other monsters.

Jor pierced the monster with his sword but nothing happened. The monster punched him again but he dodged it and slashed his sword at the monster's chest. Jor was surprised to see that only some part of the monster was bruised. He stabbed the part that was bruised and it went through killing the monster. Jor saw that the part was where it's heart is.

Jor ran to his wife and son and stabbed the monster in the heart bit not before seeing his son using his powers.

He called his friends to come to his house and he sent his injured wife home.
