Let’s Go With That

"Atlantis?" I asked, completely stunned.

"Yes," replied Jun Li once again sounding distracted. He had taken the picture of the German Shephard off of the screen and I could see the Earth's moon in front of us. I blinked a few times as I looked at it. Standing up, I walked towards the monitor. I understood that it wasn't like an actual window, but it was the first time that I had ever seen the moon so close.

I no longer cared about lesser species, Ozone layers, or the Lost City of Atlantis.

I took a deep breath as we went closer and I could see the sand-like texture and the giant craters that dominated every picture of the moon that I had ever seen. I realized that we were on the dark side of the moon when I could see planet Earth over the horizon. It had never felt like I was in space more than this moment right now.

My brain had understood everything up to this point, that I was in a spaceship interacting with the A.I that was running it. I had seen the emptiness of true space where even stars couldn't cut through the darkness and I had learned an alien language. But it wasn't until I was looking at Earth from the outside that I truly understood what had happened to me.

I had been abducted by fucking aliens. I had been held and experimented for almost six years, and I had only been free for maybe two months.

Taking a deep breath, I turned to look at the monitor in the corner of the command bridge. "How are we going to get you your body?" I asked. I no longer cared about Earth, about protecting humans, or whether or not humans were dogs, or cats, or mice. My new life started two months ago and I hadn't realized it until this moment.

"I was doing some research online and I was thinking about renting either a storage unit or a warehouse and having the body delivered there. I told the company that I needed the utmost secrecy when it came to the creation of the body so it wouldn't look suspicious that the delivery address was a warehouse," started Jun Li as I turned my attention back to the moon and planet in front of us. I had no idea when I would see this view again.

"That makes sense, then I can have all my supplies delivered there too," I said with a nod.

"Are you sure? I thought that you would want to go planetside for the week," said Jun Li hesitantly.

I cocked my head and thought about it. I didn't have any place to sleep, I had assumed that my condo would have been sold a long time ago. But on the other hand, if the bank was still taking the mortgage, I might still have a place to live.

"Can you hook my tablet up to the internet here in this room?" I asked as I went back to sitting in the oversized chair. Honestly, as much as I hated it in the beginning for making me feel like a small kid, I was loving it now.

"Done," replied Jun Li. "What are you looking up?" he continued curious. That seemed to be his normal tone ever since he was freed and learned that the universe was much bigger than he originally thought.

"My bank," I grumbled. I didn't know a single person that felt comfortable looking up their banking information online, and it had nothing to do with security. Even if you knew you had enough money to cover everything, there was still that stress. Especially when it came to the credit card statement.

Pulling up my information, I realized that the bank had still been taking the bi-weekly mortgage payments for my condo and I was still paying all of my bills through direct payments. Essentially, my place should still be mine. Huh.

"How would I get down to Earth? I mean, it's not like I can just take a taxi."

Jun Li was silent for a moment. "If you don't want to take one of the runners you could always be transported down. But normally we only used that on the non-biological things," he admitted and I shuddered. I understood that according to Earth, transporters (which we didn't have) were perfectly safe (which we had no way to prove because we didn't have them), but I didn't know if I was willing to take the chance.

"And if I decide to take one of the runners?" I asked. Truthfully, the idea of landing a spaceship on Earth sounded fun. "I have no way of knowing how to pilot one of those things."

"I could pilot it for you," said Jun Li as if it wasn't a big deal. "It also has a cloaking device attached to it that would prevent anyone from being able to discover it."

"Can I see it?" I asked interested.

"Sure," replied Ju Li. "Follow me," he continued as a tiny bot came onto the bridge, its little wheels caring it quickly across the smooth floor. Standing up, I followed the bot controlled by Jun Li. We went to the same room where, when we were first freed, Jun Li had piled up bodies to dump out in space later. "This is the hanger," he said reminding me what the technical name was for it. The body dumping room was probably not appropriate.

Distracted by all the bodies before, I had failed to notice the small spaceship parked off in the corner of the large hanger. As I walked up close to it, I decided 'small' was a relative term. I mean, in comparison to Jun Li, it was tiny, compared to a Boeing 777 airplane, it was huge.

"Since I would be piloting it, we could have it make multiple trips back and forth to bring up all the supplies that you want. We do have a week on the planet," suggested Jun Li coming out of the little bot's speaker. I nodded my head.

"That would be perfect," I said. Now, if only I knew a way to get a crap ton of credit cards, and rack up a debt that I never planned on paying off in order to go shopping for my supplies. "What about money?" I asked looking down at the bot.

"I still have access to the president's bank account. It would take him a few days to learn that we were using his money. Longer if I block any notifications to him warning about possible theft."

"Sure, let's go with that option," I replied with a smile. You could cause a lot of shit when you knew you weren't coming back.

As a responsible author (and purely for legal purposes), I would like to take the time to say that this novel is a piece of fiction. Any actions taken by characters should not be repeated by a human.

In no way, shape, or form am I suggesting or encouraging you to commit credit card fraud or steal money from someone's bank account.
