The end of the beginning!

When the Dean says she will answer any questions that are asked. The first one to ask is Claire, "Dean I heard that this year's familiar choosing ceremony is going to be different from the previous ones. Is it true? if it is, can I know the reason why?."Without hesitating and with a straight face Claire asks this question to the dean.

Familiar choosing ceremony? What are they changing?.

It seems many students don't know about this and it seems like all of them are confused and looking forward to the dean's reply...

"Hmm, yes that news that you heard is indeed true. This year's familiar choosing ceremony will be different from the previous ones. Usually, the chosen ones were given a familiar when they reach year 4 in the academy, but this time all the years including year 1 to year 4 will be given familiars at once. This is the first time something like this has ever happened and many big people are showing up to watch this ceremony including the new king and queen, but the reason for this is a secret for now and it can't be revealed." said the Dean to everyone.

Everyone was shocked to hear that but in their mind, they think that having a familiar so fast is nice and cool but in reality, things won't go without a reason. It's just that this childrens can't understand that, the way how they are now. Each individuality wants power and they will achieve anything to do that, it's not a bad thing to gain more power, it's just that the more power one has, the more responsibilities fall on their hands...

Familiar:

Familiar is also called or pronounced as mana beast which a mage uses to fight. Mana beast can release their potential more when they are paired with their partner. When a mana beast gets a suitable partner they tend to make their partner stronger than they already are. Having familiarity is important for a mage. Usually, familiars or the mana beast are sponsored by the academy to the chosen ones, but the mages can also bring their own familiar with them. Familiars can be helpful when you're fighting against an opponent more powerful than you.

Them giving the familiar so fast has got something to do with the monsters in these legions, is something not going right?. Aether began thinking about this and I think he got some clue.

After that Olivia asked a question to the dean, it seems like the year 5 chosen ones are coming back after their training. Olivia asked whether is it true or not to the dean.

"Ahh, yes it's about time for them to return. It must be by this week if I am not wrong. They will come to assist you guys and explain about the familiars and watch the ceremony too."

Year 5 ahh, I heard that there are the strongest in this Academy besides the dean and some teachers. I hope that they won't cause me trouble...again Aether's attention drifted from worrying about the monsters to worrying about himself, sigh! life surely is hard uhh...

The year 5 does not stay in the academy often. They go out to get some real-life training. They often go out of the academy and fight with monsters to get some real-life experience. The year 5 chosen ones get even more experience in combat since they get real-life experiences and they also might be called the Elite of this Academy.

"Ohh! it seems like we can learn many things from them," Olivia said with an exciting face.

" Hmm, that's right," says the dean.

After that, everyone finished their meals and goes back to their dorms and only Aether and the dean were left.

"Thank you for today's meal by the way," says Aether while smiling at the dean.

"Ohh, now you want to tell me huh!" the dean laughs and asks Aether "Aren't you curious about the reason why the familiar choosing ceremony is like this?".

" I am curious but I think I already figured it out."

"As I thought so, the activities of the monster have increased this past few months," says the dean to Aether.

"Hmm, this is surely gonna be troublesome. By the way, why are telling this to me, dean?".

With a smirk on her face, she replied "Just felt like it."

Aether started walking and as he walked he replied "Don't put your hopes on me, I am nothing but a non-mage who can only create mechanisms."

The dean smiles as Aether have left, then she says "that's the reason, why I am putting my hopes on you Aether. Become strong, everyone has something they must protect and you too."

Then the dean takes her leave too.
