Evan Needed Encouragement

"You didn't forget that next week is Valentine's Day, did you?" Evan raised a brow and looked at his friend teasingly.

"Oh shoot!" Violet gasped. "I totally forgot about that!"

"I thought so," Evan smirked.

Recently, Violet was preoccupied with Chen's family. Ryan's mother wanted them to make a little progress and suggested they go on a date.

Violet would rather spend her time in her bakery but, the elders were threatening to lengthen their dating period if they were unwilling to spend time together.

It was such a headache.

No matter what she did, the elders were not going to budge.

"Thank god you reminded me, Evan. I don't know what would've happened if I had forgotten all about it. I mean, there's the order forms that I've got to fill up." Violet paused for a second and gasped. Her eyes widened. "Oh my god! The order forms!"

Violet realized that she was in trouble.

She needed to fill in the order form and send it to their supplier if she wanted to receive her supplies before Valentine's Day. Some of the ingredients were something that she rarely purchased. Therefore, she will need to allow some time for her suppliers to find them.

"Don't worry about that," Evan flashed an assuring smile. "I'll handle that order form and everything else. You, Violet. You should go on a vacation, relax, and clear your head a little bit. You can trust me. I'll make sure that you will get your ingredients by Valentine's Day."

"Really?"

"Have I ever let you down?" Evan clicked his tongue.

Violet smiled and took a deep breath. "Alright. But promise me you will call me if you run into trouble."

"I will," Evan replied. He walked Violet to Sarah's vehicle and helped the girls with their luggage. Evan stood on the sidewalk and watched as Sarah's vehicle disappeared from his view.

Then, he turned around and headed straight to the kitchen.

Without Violet around, Evan was in charge. There would be a lot of things that he needed to look at.

Evan was working on his cupcakes when one of the staff, Risa showed up beside him.

"You know." Risa peeked at Evan to check on his expression. "The rest of us really think that you should tell Sarah how you feel for her."

Risa and the other staff of the bakery have been watching Evan and Sarah for a long time. They felt that Evan needed encouragement before it was too late.

Evan stared at Risa as if she was mumbling something that didn't make sense. "What are you talking about?"

Risa rolled her eyes. "Stop playing dumb, Evan. We all know that you're in love with Sarah." She turned to look at the others. "Right guys?"

Evan sensed that everyone was staring in his direction. "What?" he laughed nervously.

"You're very transparent, Evan," Brian commented. The kitchen was not that big and it was not difficult for him to eavesdrop on Evan and Risa's conversation.

Evan pretended that he didn't hear Brian's words. He went to take out some muffin trays from the oven and poked some random cupcakes with a cake tester to check on their doneness. Then he dropped the cake tester and looked back at Brian. "Do you think I'm being very transparent?"

It was clear that Brian's words lingered in his mind.

"Duh! How could anyone not notice how you look at her?" Brian pointed.

A faint blush appeared on Evan's cheek.

He was sure that he had hidden his feelings whenever Sarah was around. However, the others were saying that his feelings were too transparent.

Evan wondered if Sarah knew how he felt for her.

"I know for sure that Sarah noticed nothing," Risa said.

Evan let out a breath of relief. He would be happy if Sarah did not know his feelings. Sarah probably thinks of him as a friend and nothing else.

"That girl is kind of slow in this department. She is the kind of person who would notice other's feelings for another instead of other's feelings for her."

Risa let out a chuckle. She did not know whether Evan was lucky that Sarah was a bit slow.

Luckily, Sarah never seemed to notice that there were a few customers who came to look for her. If someone else won Sarah's attention, then Evan would lose her.

Unfortunately, Sarah also did not notice how Evan always followed her with his gaze whenever she was around.

"Anyway... Evan, I think you need to tell her before someone else takes her away."

Evan's expression turned to worry. "You think somebody is going to do that?"

"Of course!" Risa said. "She's pretty, bubbly and smart. And in case you didn't notice, she had plenty of admirers. Haven't you noticed how many guys walk in the bakery whenever Sarah attends the cashier?"

Evan tried to think of the days that Sarah came to hang around the bakery.

It was not as if he did not notice how the bakery would receive a few more male customers each time Sarah stood behind the counter.

Some of them would try to strike up a conversation with Sarah and this girl was not stingy with her smile. Sarah was friendly and would not mind chatting with the customers.

Now that Risa had brought up this matter, Evan realized that he was now in danger.

"You're just lucky that Sarah never took any of them seriously," Risa continued.

Evan kept his eyes on the cupcakes on the table. He had a calm look on his face, but his mind was chaotic. He was panicking and Evan realized that he did not know what he should do.

Risa exchanged a glance with Brian and continued. "Now that Valentine's Day is just around the corner, why don't you take this chance to talk to her?"

"On Valentine's Day?" Evan frowned doubtfully. "No. Isn't that too cheesy?"

Brian clicked his tongue. "What cheesy? It's romantic alright?"

Risa nodded a few times. "That's right. Evan, you did not know just how many girls liked this kind of thing. To receive a confession on Valentine's Day is romantic. Imagine this. Some chocolate, flowers, and a confession. It would be a day that any girl won't be able to forget."

Brian and Risa continued to convince Evan to confess his feelings and Evan began to consider their ideas.
