Accidents Happen- 13

•Maria POV•

I woke up with the sun shinning into my eyelids, I groaned and rolled over…

I slowly opened my eyes I was covered up with a pelt. Roy was rested up against a tree, I looked around for Will but he wasn't to be seen.

I sat up feeling a bit uneasy, Roy made me nervous and I wasn't sure as to why…

I glanced at his sleeping face, it was just the same as the man who had comforted me on that bank when I was transported here….

What was different now?

I stood up and dusted myself off, I gathered up my pelts on the intent of putting them in the bag.

Making my way over to the bag I bend down and start packing the pelts back in the bag.

I fell a arm snake around my waist.

"Eep!" Squeaking in shock I turn around to find Roy's face.

He looked like he was in pain, not a normal pain but a emotional pain…

"Maria…" he said softly.

"Y-yes?" I said trying to get him to release me but trying to gently pry his hands away.

"I-…I…" his eyes turned into more dark as I looked into them fear gripped at.

"R-Roy your scaring me." Saying this I get more forceful with my attempts, I was tempted to scream Will's name. It wasn't to that point yet but he was really making me nervous.

His hands refused to release me it was actually getting painful.

"What does that bear have?! Why do you look at him with those eyes." He raised his voice, the pained look back on his face…

"R-Roy! Your hurting me!" I squirm trying to get away my ribs felt as if they would break at any second.

His eyes widened and became clear.

He quickly released me and stumbled away, my ribs ached.

He stared at me as if he couldn't believe what had just happened, he took a step forward…

"P-please don't, I'm fine really." I said hugging my arms around my waist, watching him warily.

He paused in place at my words.

"S-sorry… I must h-have been half asleep…." He said stuttering which was really not like him.

"I-it's okay!" I found myself telling a lie, I found myself wanting to console the guy….

I shook my head and backed up a bit more towards a tree and sat down.

"Where is W-Will?" I said watching Roy as he still was in slight shock.

"He… went hunting early this morning, I got to g-get fire wood… I'll be over there…" he said pointing, he walked over into the thicker area of woods. He wasn't as far as I couldn't see him but, I really didn't want to see him right now…

I rub my hands over where he held me, it was still sore from where his grip gripped into my sides.

I wipe away a stray tear that ran down my cheek, it really scared me… Maybe I'm over reacting? He said he was half asleep… I mean those accidents happen right?

I tried to stop but I kept crying… it was like I was on my monthly with all the emotional stress I was under… my tears continued to slowly run down.

I heard footsteps in the forest when I looked up Will was there with a deer over his shoulder.

He looked at me with a confused face, I got up and ran over to him feeling a overwhelming emotion.

I tackled him, he stumbled back and dropped the deer.

"W-woah!"

He stumbling around for a bit before steadying himself.

•Will's POV•

My face was burning, and I didn't know what to do at all.

I felt stuck in place, my hands shook nervously.

I took a deep breath and slowly hugged her back.

"M-Maria, what's w-wrong?"

To a response she just shook her head and hugged tighter.

//Okay? Guessing she doesn't want to talk about it….\\ I thought to myself wanting her to tell me, but then again I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable….

I brought my self to hug a bit tighter…

I waited for her to pull away, minutes past and she did not, it was starting to get really… awkward at least for me, I wasn't really used to being near females. Their emotions were really mysterious to me, but I learned not to question them to much from my mother…

I heard a cough and looked up to see Roy glaring a death glare towards me…

Then it hit me…

He must have done or said something, he was the only one who was with her….

For the first time since meeting Roy I sent a glare in response. Roy pause a bit, but went back to glaring while setting up the fire wood.

I wanted to confront him, but I shouldn't cause a scene In front of her…

She slowly let me go, and looked up at me with her crystal blue eyes.

They were a little puffy from tears, I gave a gentle smile and slowly wiped underneath both of her eyes. Her face turned a bit pink, as she softly batted away my hands and wiped her eyes herself.

I could sense something definitely was going on with her emotions, I sighed.

She went back to sitting down but her mood seemed a little better.

I picked up the deer and took it toward the fire Roy had started up. He just glared silently into the crackling flames.

I put down the deer and walked to the giant bag and rummaged around for sharp stones.

I found one and then went and dressed the deer.

I shoved the guts in a skin bag that I had found in the bigger bag.

I went to go dump them off somewhere in the woods when I felt a tug on my satchel.

I turned and looked it was Maria her hand clenched over her heart as she looked up at me.

"C-can I go with you?" She said softly, I looked at her then at Roy who was again glaring.

I looked at her and nodded gently.

We walked deep into the woods, she kept hold on my satchel as we went.

Once we got far enough out I took the gut bag off my shoulder and dumped the guts out of it.

Maria had let go of my bag and went around looking at stuff as I shook out the bag.

"Maria."

She turned and looked at me over her shoulder.

"Hm?"

It was then I noticed the marks on her sides, they were slightly discolored from the rest of her pale skin…

I felt a sour anger rise in my throat…

I took a breath and smiled besides that, I had to keep my anger in check. At least while she was around, I didn't want her to see that side of me…

"It's time to go." I said with a smile.

She gave a soft smile in return and jogged over.

Her foot suddenly caught on a root and she crashed into me, I wasn't expecting it and I tumbled down when she slammed into me.

I hit the ground pretty hard, and then she knocked the breath out of me falling on top of me.

I squeezed my eyes shut on the impact, getting back my bearings I felt something soft on my lips.

I nervously open my eyes to see Maria's eyes opened widely in front of mine.

My heart and mind raced with panic…
