"Sonic! Sonic!"

"Mister Sonic!"

Sonic cracked one eye open and looked at the three children who stood next to his bed. One was his little adopted brother, Miles 'Tails' Prower, the boy next to Tails was a badger cub named Calvin Alder, and the one next to Calvin was a bear cub named Keith Vega. Sonic had forgotten that Tails had a sleepover with his new friends that he made during Tails' first week of the third grade.

"Good morning big bro!" Tails greeted the teenager.

"Mornin'." Sonic returned his sibling's greeting. A car horn came from outside making Calvin sigh.

"Calvin! Keith!" Sonic heard a man's voice who Sonic recognized as Keith's father Tobias Vega. "Time to go!"

Tails turned to wave goodbye to his two new friends. "Bye Keith, bye Cal."

"See ya on Monday kiddos," Sonic said while also waving goodbye to the two cubs.

Once Sonic heard the front door shut, he pulled Tails over so the yellow furred fox cub was also on his bed. Sonic yawned obviously still tired and stretched a little while still laying down. Tails nuzzled his big brother while resting on the blue-furred teenager's belly with his own head on Sonic's chest. Sonic's ringtone went off and Sonic grabbed it while keeping one arm wrapped around Tails.

"Hey Knuckles," Sonic said.

"Sonic, you've really got to get to Angel Island right now!" The red echidna's voice came so loud from the other side of the phone that it made Tails jump.

"Calm down Knuckles, what's wrong?" Sonic asked.

"The...just get over here and see for yourself!"

Knuckles hung up after he said that. Tails glanced over at Sonic who was just as confused as he was. Sonic pulled the blanket off of him and grabbed his socks and shoes. Tails was about to do the same but was stopped by Sonic.

"I don't think you should come over this time bud," Sonic told the cub. Tails frowned while still looking up at his older sibling.

Sonic sighed and pulled Tails over. "Come on little bro, I need somebody to make sure that Eggman doesn't try to destroy the city again."

"Ok." Tails gave in with a small smile.

Sonic returned the smile and kissed the top of Tails' forehead. "Love you, little bro."

Sonic left right after saying that leaving Tails on his own. Tails grabbed Sonic's blue blanket and pulled it up to his chest and laid down. Nuzzling his head into Sonic's pillow, he stared at the door.

"Love you too, big bro."
