I Overheard You
I listened to my father speak on the phone with someone -- and yeah, I knew that it was a woman. The way the conversation had been going -- the way he laughed, the way he sounded was so -- so irritating. He sounded like a boy that had just fallen in love. I checked and found my mother sleeping in their bedroom, so who the hell was he talking to? When I heard him talk, I played with the idea that perhaps my parents had been playing some kind of game -- to spice up their marriage or something -- because their marriage really needed some spicing. However, it was not Xue that he was talking to. Fuck! Why was he even in the sitting room?
