"Come in, Mr. Ren," a woman said. The one that was sitting on the bed beside Mao. She had her hand on Mao's thigh and it seemed to Ren like she was comforting Mao. Ren thought it was all a bit too much but he dared not say that there. However, the way the woman had called his name made him feel like Mao had said more than she was supposed to. This was a small town and people easily knew people. One day could come and Xue would walk in here with the same last name as his and anything could go wrong from there. Ren did not feel comfortable at all but he didn't let that show in his countenance or demeanor. He tried his best to remain calm.
