Chapter 9: A fierce battle (1)
At the elders hall
The sect master saw some Nascent Soul lamps getting destroyed. He was startled 'Why do so many Nascent soul lamps break?'. His talisman glowed up.
"Core elder Webb, how can I help you?"
"Sect master, we have an enormous problem. The hidden assassin sect is killing our disciples who aren't within the range of our barrier formation. Even Nascent soul elders are getting into a battle! Over five elders have perished! One more information that alarmed me is, they have already encircled us. They sealed the entire area around us!"
The sect master roared. "What?!" 'Finally he is showing his true colors. I thought he would attack later!'
"Has someone been sent for the negotiations?"'
"No, sect master!"
"It seems like something's off. If they don't attack us directly, they must plan something. Is there any information about who helps them?"
"No, sect master!"
"I will convene the council of core elders. If I interpret this correctly, we are on the brink of a catastrophe. Thousands of disciples will die if we do not immediately implement countermeasures!"
'fortunately, I have already taken precautions. This old geezer will never find our legacy!' The sect master used his council talisman to inform all core elders at the same time.
"To all Core elders I call you to order in an emergency meeting of the council. A dramatic situation has just developed!"
One after the other, the core elders appeared from all directions. Not even five minutes, they all appeared. There are five Core Elders present. Except for one, all are old companions of the sect master. The exception is Silvers Webb.
"Thank you all for coming. We are on the brink of a war that we probably can not prevent. The defense barrier must be strengthened. Unfortunately, we have to evacuate. I am sure the sect master spacewalker from the hidden assassin sect has successfully ascended to a higher stage or an entire realm! I don't know why he wants to make an all-out war against us, but one thing is for sure. In the last few months, I have noticed that there are spies nestled up in the position of elders. This is a structural problem where I could not find a solution. This task will have to be solved by the next generation with all its consequences. As my last mission, I would like to evacuate as many lives as possible. That means I will stay here until my last breath. I ask you not to get the wrong idea and take revenge. My time is ending anyway. Unfortunately, because of my incompetence, I have not found a successor. The grand elders have to break out of their formation so that the others can escape. I will spend the next hours reaching my peak. I therefore can not give any further orders. Are there volunteers to reinforce the barrier to buy us a little time?"
Core elder Webb spoke up. "Sect master, let me do the honorable duty! I must buy my friends time to get to safety!"
The other four core elders responded. "We will stay with you until your last breath. We were born here, grew up here, and together we have fought and built this home with hard work and tears! We will never let them take our home away should we die, so be it."
"Are you guys sure about that?"
All nod with unanimity
The sect master replied with a sad expression. "Well, then I will announce it to the elders. The bells will ring in 30 minutes, by which time you should all be prepared for the worst."
All participants quickly disappeared from the room. The sect master looked outside and briefly saw the stars shining brightly. 'I hope you survive this, Black Reeves. You are the last survivor of our family. Even if you didn't know it. I had to keep it a secret or we would have died sooner. Unfortunately, I will not live to see your journey. Who knows, maybe your new personality will help you to rise higher. You have their blood. Your destiny is not here on Spirit Earth, but in an even crueler place. It is a miracle that we survived this.'
15 minutes later. Reeves' talisman glowed. "Hello Webb, how can I help you?"
"You need to pack your bags and leave with the Ray right now! There is a tunnel that leads out of the sect into the mountains!"
Reeves' face became serious. "Does this have anything to do with the hidden Assassin sect? Where exactly do I have to go and how much time do I have?"
"Yes, you need to go to the waterfall, which split the sect up. You have 15 minutes. I don't know when they will attack, but it can happen any moment!"
"15 minutes! I need at least 30 minutes!"
"Reeves! Hurry... The ... is... seri ….s... it... no…"
"Hello?'' 'The communication is blocked!'
'I need to go to Ray fast! I can not warn Ray damn!'
The sect bell rings

Suddenly, chaos reigns outside. Everyone ran around in a panic. "Let me through here. I have to get through here!" Reeves went into a panic.
In the background, you could hear it booming. The sound comes closer and closer the more time passes. At some point, you could hear it in all directions. A loud bang, a quiet bang.
While on the other side, the invasion began.
"All groupings into combat position!"
Kazadoom stood up and whispered to himself, "The time has come" while smiling towards the barrier.
When Webb arrived, he was shocked to find that some elders were trying to kill each other. A wounded man shouted." They are traitors! They want to drive us all into the dark! We need support and help! Why does no one hear me? The communication has been interrupted!"
Suddenly, a loud bang was heard. A shock wave rolled over Webb. With an eardrum burst, Webb slowly tried to come to his senses, but fell to the ground. Fainting.
'The enemies have broken through the defense line. Reeves, Martell, Ray I'm sorry.'
Fights arose here and there. Desperate cries were heard everywhere. There was a smell of blood in the air. Reeves got up the mountain near his cave. What he did not know was that the enemies had broken through.
Reeves screamed as he slowly approached his cave, "Ray! Ray!"
Ray noticed nothing. She was just in a critical time to progress into the third minor stage of Spiritual Qi Condensation Realm.
Kazadoom shouted back. "Damn it, don't yell like that! I must find my target and concentrate, otherwise I'll take care of you first!"
Reeves looked up and knew he was an enemy.
Kazada looked twice before he said something. "Wait a minute, you look exactly like the picture I was given. Great, let's have some fun."
Reeves thought. 'What is this black aura that surrounds him? He does not seem to use any of the standard elements.'
"You don't seem to talk that much. This is even better! You truly are perfect for my collection.
Without thinking too much, Reeves attacked.

'This Qi corrupts the environment. That means he can only be a demonic cultivator!'
Kazadom laughed. "I think I don't need to take action. My friend will be far enough for you. Bolton, finish him for me!"

Reeves cut Boltons arm down. Bolton didn't scream or react that his arm was being cut down, Bolton attacked further without any complications. Reeves was shocked that nothing happened to his fighting power at all.
'I need to do something. My Qi is getting less and less. I think I need to use my trump cards and use the martial arts from Martell, otherwise I'm for sure dead.
I threw several daggers on purpose, not at the enemy.
Kazadoom looked surprised at Reeves and said. "Huh? Are you already out of strength?" While the daggers were flying directly to him on a dead spot, hitting him four times!
"Ahh.. you… can control your flying weapons? Ah, it burns, you will pay for it!" Kazadoom stopped the bleeding by using Demonic Qi.
Kazadoom joined the fight. It was now two versus one.
Reeves used his newly movement martial arts to jump away every time they got too close. He couldn't block both at the same time. Kazadoom said with a complaining tone, "Stop jumping around like a bunny !"
Reeves was totally sweating 'I can't hold him any longer!' Out of nowhere, heavy swords fell from the sky!
"Bloody Sword formation!"
Kazadum and Bolton were trapped in the sword formation! It was no other than Martell!
"I'm sorry Reeves. I couldn't come earlier. There were several Nascent Soul Elders hunting me. You hold long enough against a demon cultivator, which is close to the breakthrough of the demon king. We must kill him immediately because he has necromancy, spiritual roots!"
Kazadum laughed, "You actually thought that I would come alone!"
A sneak attack was hitting Martell. The formation disappeared. An Elder appeared and attacked Martell. "I will take this enemy, young fellow! It was a good idea to follow you, Kazadoom."
Reeves greeted his teeth 'This is not good.'
Ray broke through the third stage! The ground was trembling every few seconds, as if someone was fighting outside. She picked the talisman up and tried to activate it. There was no response.

Stones were coming down from the cave! "What is happening outside? I can't contact Reeves! If it goes on, the cave will collapse!"

A part of the cave collapses.
'I'm sorry master, I need to go out otherwise I die here.' She opened the cave and saw the fight between Reeves and an evil-looking man. Kazadoom didn't notice her. Reeves, however, did.
'This is the most unfavorable time ever.'
Kazadoom noticed his face changing into a worrisome face. After a few seconds, he found out that this has to do something with this girl at the back.
"Oh, I have found something wonderful."
"Don't you dare! Ray flee!"
She was stunned. After she realized she could die, she panicked and tried to run away.
"What are you thinking? Chasing innocent people while being in a fight. I think I need to teach you some manners!"
Reeves was going all out now.
"Die Demon!"

The fight was furious. Reeves slices through Kazadoom's face while he destroys the dead body Bolton into pieces.
"Ahhh my face! Ah!"
Kazadoom used his Dominic Qi and attacked Reeves in the face. "Eat this!"
He was blasting his Demonic Qi at Reeves 'I can't see anything anymore, shit I need to get out of this.' The Demonic Qi wasn't going away. Reeves felt a pain, something piercing through his back and then a piercing into his stomach. He coughed blood. A skeleton attacked him while he couldn't see anything.
Kazadoom used his Demonic Qi again to stop the blood loss. He slowly comes closer to Reeves.
An evil laughter was echoing in the background. "How does it feel? It's burning like hell, right?
Black Reeves killing you would be a shame, but what you did to me today can't be unforgiven. I'll give you two choices. Your first choice is to kill the girl who is running away and you will swear your allegiance to me to pay your debt! The second choice, I kill her in front of you. While doing that, I'll cripple you and let you live a long life until the day I take pity on you."
Kazadoom kneeled with one leg and mumbled in front of Reeves. "You have five seconds to choose." Kazadoom marked something with Demonic Qi at Reeves body.
"Please.."
"Let her life."
"Blacky, black, you are not in a position for negotiations!"
"Can you see the wounds in my face? Only thanks to my Dominic Qi, I could stop the bleeding. I'm now counting to 5."

"Time is over. I guess you choose the second option. That's sad." After his monologue, he pierced at Reeves' spiritual roots.
"Ahh" 'If I were only stronger. Dying twice in a short time sucks. My strength is slowly going away. He destroyed my spiritual roots!'
Kazadoom went in the direction where Ray fled.
'Why am I so useless I can't even protect my first disciple? Ray! I must save Ray!'
Reeves standing up trying to help ray. 'I can't die without trying!'
A few seconds later, Kazadom found Ray still running away. A skeleton caught her.
"Let me go! Reeves, help me Reeves!"
"Oh dear, don't struggle, I'll bring you to Reeves!" He ties her and puts her on his shoulders.
"No, let me go!"
"This meaningless struggle."
Out of nowhere, Kazadoom got punched into several trees and let Ray fall down.
Martell with a bloody body appeared again. "Are you okay Ray?" While asking, he unchained Ray.
"No, we need to flee! Fast, he is dangerous!" Ray was crying and trembling.
"It's okay, hide somewhere. I'll finish him. After all, I'm a realm higher than him."
"Why are you all coming out of nowhere!" While Kazadoom was complaining about his situation, he pushed the dirt and wood away.
Kazzadoom looked at Martell "You are still alive. That means you killed the elder. That's impressive. However, your body condition seems a bit bloody."
"Hmph, look at you. Your body condition is worse than mine and you still make jokes."
