Chapter 5: The magus path and the demon path
The magus path, also called magical path, is a path for the races, dwarfs, elves, and dragons. The demons tried to corrupt these races and integrate them in their demon cultivation path. They had success in corrupting the dragons. Dragons got a punishment and are extinct on the paper, because they sided with the demons for more power. However, it is not sure if they are clearly extinct. Rumors are still there that they roam the world. Humans, giants were jealous because they had no power to defend themself. For this reason, they created their own path, the cultivation path, as the book mentioned before.They couldn't use the spiritual Qi to cast magic. They also didn't know how to get a manacore. It was impossible for them. In history, there was not a single human or giant that achieved it. They have researched magus cultivation since they were born in this world. The information about the magus path is not complete since there are only a few of them on the continent of Lothian. Elves tried to erase the knowledge about them.
They call themselves magus. Humans call them magus cultivators. The naming of the realms is also very different, but they are equally strong as a human cultivator. Instead of using the spiritual Qi for enhancing the body and soul, elves manipulate the Qi to cast magic. In close combat, they have not a chance against cultivators. Dwarfs, however, use this Qi to enhance their items. The elves were not as good as the dwarfs in Qi blacksmithing. There is no information about their relationship with each other. In their early realms, they need to channel the Spiritual Qi, which takes a lot of time to cast them.
Their cultivation realms are called:
Beginner Magus Realm = Spiritual Qi Condensation Realm
Apprentice Magus Realm = Spiritual Qi Tempering Realm
Senior Magus Realm = Foundation Establishment Realm
Master Magus Realm = Core Formation Realm
Grandmaster Magus Realm = Nascent Soul Realm
Archmaster Magus Realm = Ascension Soul Realm
There are ten magus realms with ten minor stages of a realm. The ten minor stages are divided into four groups.

Beginner Magus Realm
Every elf can manipulate the spiritual Qi from birth. A beginner magus can feel and the spiritual Qi which is omnipresent. The next step is to manipulate the spiritual Qi. In this realm, they can't cast anything though. They can move spiritual Qi particles and store them inside their body and are a newbie at conceptualizing the creation of magic power.

Apprentice Magus Realm
If they are able to feel,see and manipulate spiritual Qi, they learn complicated spells to cast them. It's kinda complicated, like the formations that humans create. They are apprentice magus when they can cast an apprentice spell.

Senior Magus Realm
A senior magus is considered being a senior magus can use the spells of a senior magus. The higher the realm is the more complicated it gets to channel them.They have a more profound understanding of spell theory and its uses in combat.

Master Magus Realm
A master magus is considered to be a master magus if he performs master spells. They get a harsher tribulation than the realm before. If one can create a manacore without dying by the heavenly lightning tribulation, he or she can be considered as master magus.
They are masters of techniques like instantaneous casting, which enables extremely rapid casting of prepared spells.

Grandmaster Realm
A grandmaster magus can use at least two elemental spiritual Qi. They need to destroy their mana core to form a mana soul. They are a master of one spiritual Qi, elemental.

Archmaster Realm
There are several grandmasters on the continent of Gumuldur. The reason for that is that elves are immortal. They can only die in battle or by poison. The second reason for that is they had not faced nearly complete eradication like other races. There are hints that this is not the latest realm. Legends are saying that there would be the entire world of Archmasters if they didn't ascend to the Realm of gods. They have a superior knowledge of this, which other races didn't even know.
They are masters of at least three spirit Qi elementals. The Spiritual earth pills are useless to take, they have no effect at this stage.
Demon cultivation path
The knowledge about the demonic path is erased. Only the names of demonic cultivation have survived. The power levels are equal to the other cultivation paths. There are only hints that elves burned the books about them. Every cultivation manual that existed was hunted down by elvess. There are no descriptions or inscriptions about them. Humans that cultivated their ways would not live long. The elfs created some kind of detection spells to locate them. It doesn't matter where they would hide or how strong they were. They have no chance of escape.

Reeves was startled and was thinking.. "They got hunted like witches in the medieval era in my world. Their power level must be terrifying. It will be hard to annihilate them. I think I understand this world now. I should learn something about cultivation manuals. Let's go to the next floor."
Reeves went to the second floor. It was empty of people. There are fewer books presented. The sections were also fewer and historical books do not exist here.
"Let's have a look at the cultivation manuals."
They used cultivation manuals for an elemental spiritual path. For example, if someone has a fire spiritual root Qi he could only learn a fire cultivation manual. It describes how to use and manipulate the fire Qi. There is also a paragraph about how it would enhance the body and soul of them. However, they can only use one elemental. There are some cases where people have multiple spiritual roots. In the end, they need to choose one of them for learning. It also depends on the sect itself. They divide the cultivation manuals into ranks. If the rank is high, it contains more knowledge about the elemental Qi. So, the lowest ranks are some kind of bad. They contain flaws that could cause bad habits and they are mostly incomplete.
"Hmm, that's understandable, but I need to get some information on how to identify a person's spiritual root."
I searched the whole second floor and found nothing. I went to the third floor. The books here are closely non-existent, but there was a book about this information.
"A book for elders to identify a person's aptitude and spiritual root for cultivation"
They are multiple ways to find out which spiritual root your disciple has. They need to undergo some tests to be precise.
The first one is a bottle of water. If they increase the water volume size, they have a water elemental spirit root.
If you place a leaf on top of the water and the leaf moves on the water's surface, it should be an earth elemental spirit root.
If the bottle of water gets heated, it has a fire elemental spirit root.
If the bottle of water gets destroyed, he is a lightning elemental spirit root.
If the water changes the color, he has wind.
The other method is to get a power measurer stone which elfs used to identify their roots. This method is not common because the stone is invaluable. Humans had such stones in possession before the two great wars. If a sect has such a stone, they wouldn't announce it public. Otherwise they must bear the consequences, sects are fighting until death for this. The reason is simple. The tests were shorter. They could also measure the aptitude of a disciple.
Human cultivators use a different technique to identify their aptitude.
The disciple needs to gather the spiritual Qi in a closed door room. The more he gathers, the better is his aptitude. This method varies in the realm of a disciple.
If there is no Qi spiritual left, he can be considered having a high aptitude.
If there is half spiritual Qi left, he can be considered having a medium aptitude.
If there are more than half spiritual Qi left, he can be considered having a low aptitude.
The mortals with a high aptitude can be sure that they will have a personal master. However, if they have a high aptitude but no spiritual root, they can't be a cultivator.
"This is the information that I needed for Ray. The next thing that I need is the ranking system of a cultivation manual."
A few moments later, I got a few cultivation manuals.
Five ranks divided the cultivation manuals.
Ordinary - can only be used with a low aptitude
Earth - can only be used with a medium aptitude
Magical - can only be used with a medium aptitude
Rare - can only be used with a high aptitude
Epic - can only be used with a high aptitude
I sighed. "I don't know her aptitude and spiritual roots. I guess I'll take fifthteen books low until medium aptitude books with all common spiritual roots. Wind, fire, earth, water, lightning. That should be enough. I don't think she has a high aptitude, otherwise she would be a member of the sect."
I went downstairs to the first floor and searched for Ray. After a few minutes, I found her.
"Ray, I found the books that I needed for you so we can leave the library and start your cultivation path."
"Okay, I want to read more about the races. Can you wait a little? It's breathtaking! Did you know there were once stone golems and dragons on this continent?"
"Really well if you are so excited about it, I'll wait outside and meditate next to the elder. If you are finished, come out and find me."
I went outside next to the elder. He was in mediation, so I sat next to him to do the same.
