Chapter 14: The Exorcist

"We? Maybe you're blind or something but those brats can't stand up to me."

Owen and Trent stood in awe as Dave pointed directly at them.

"Who said I was talking about those boys?," Ted said with a smirk. As soon as he finished that statement, two others showed up behind Dave from out of nowhere. They were both hooded and no one could see their eyes because their hood was blocking them. They both charged at Dave. One of them tripped him with what looked to be a green transparent staff, while the other slugged Dave to the ground with all of his might. When they stood to look at Dave, he looked like he was struggling to get up. The man or creature, that wanted so bad to kill Ted, Owen, and Trent, was defeated by his opponent. Once he gave up and blacked out, Ted then spoke, " goodnight, Mr. Spirit."

"Nice work, guys," Ted said as the rest of his team took off their hoods. One of the guys who took off their hoods was really tall with brown curly hair. The other was just a little shorter than Ted with short hair that was colored blue.

"Thank you for distracting him long enough. It wouldn't have worked if you didn't," the tall one said.

"Well it wasn't easy, Len. Still had to save some people," Ted said.

"Well I think you are too slow you old fool. Almost on your third Century aren't ya?," the shorter one said. The shorter one had a much higher voice than Ted and Len.

"MIKKA! SHUT UP! IM ONLY A CENTURY OLD!!," Ted shouted. Mikka then giggled at Ted who seemed a little angry.

"Whatever, you are still the oldest one," Mikka said. Mikka then looked over at Martha who was laying on the ground while breathing heavily.

"M-Martha? Are you okay?" Mikka said a concerned voice.

"Mikka...so you are saving me this time...still cutting your hair short I see," Martha said in a weak quiet voice.

"And you are still teaching, huh?," Mikka said with a light smile.

"Is Owen okay?," Martha asked as Mikka looked at Owen and Trent, who were walking up to them.

"I have a feeling that he is fine," Mikka said with a smile. When Owen got to his now weak mother, he embraced her. Her skin was pale and started to feel cold. Tears started forming in Owen's eyes. Mikka then knelt down to look at Owen.

"So you are Owen, huh? You are Martha's son," Mikka said.

Owen then nodded as tears started falling from his face.

"I saw your blade from afar. You are a brave kid," Mikka said with a smile.

"C-cant you save her?," Owen asked. Mikka started to cry and then she spoke, "I'm afraid not...I'm so sorry...the best thing now is to get her to a hospital, okay? Then she will feel a lot better...you'll see."

Owen then nodded. All of a sudden, a man appeared behind them. The man was tall in all black clothing. He had a cold stare as though he has been through a lot. Like he seen every messed up thing in the world and learned not to show emotion. In a cold deep voice the man spoke, "you are not finished here yet, Mikka, or did you forget," the man said. Mikka looked up into the cold eyes of the man behind her. His blank expression, his pale skin. He looked rather old, but rather fit. He stood up straight looking down at Mikka. Mikka then stood up.

"Alex, you don't have to be rude we are going to do it," Ted said.

"Ted, maybe you can stop slacking and get to work. You still need to defeat this spirit, don't you think?," Alex said.

"What do you think we are doing?," Len said.

"Think you are here messing around with some kids and victims and not completely deal with the very spirit that hurt them," Alex said. Alex gave all three of them dirty looks then walked over to Dave, who was on the ground. Blood oozing from his would. Black blood dripping from his mouth. Blood shot was his eyes. Breathing heavily as he growled at the man in black. Alex then glanced at Ted. He pointed at Ted.

"You! Congratulations. You just made this process ten times harder. Did you really have to amputate his left arm? How do you expect me to drive out the spirit now?," Alex said as Ted shrugged at him in anger. Alex turned back to the man on the ground clinging to life.

"I guess I will have to do it the long way then," Alex said to himself.

"Why does he still need his left arm?," Trent asked Mikka.

"He needs his hands or something. I don't know. I really don't pay attention to that type of stuff. Its pointless," Mikka said.

"But he seems so different from you guys," Trent said.

"Well of course he is. He is not part of us."

"Then who is he."

"He, my friend, is an exorcist," Mikka said.
