7 Meditation Techniques

Meditation of Heaven and Earth. Is a standing meditation, The limb position represents certain aspects of the world related to Taoism and balance.

Both legs represent Yin and Yang while the hands represent Heaven and Earth. The human standing stance itself shows 'Balance' in all things.

With such intent, my world one could say.. has changed. 

I could… simply feel Spirit energy in my surroundings. It's like my sensitivity took a whole bucket of sugar and went into hyperdrive.

It's like something similar to… omnipresence? I could sense my surroundings and see 'dots' which is the Spirit energy. But there is… more… 

Energy is like nothing I have sensed before in the heaven and the earth.

The moment I tried to tap into it, it started to descend from the sky into me and it started to fuse with my body!

Same with energy from the ground!

Is my body absorbing energies from heaven and earth?

I wonder what are the side effects of this?

Well, it didn't matter because I sensed how my cultivation started rapidly increasing.

One of the downsides of my Golden Dragon King Martial Spirit is the absurd amount of Spirit Energy I need to advance to the next rank.

It's like trying to fill up a bathtub with droplets of water. Now however it was like I am filling it up with a teacup. Much, much faster!

Not only that but these energies from Heaven and Earth are making me feel… just…better!

~~~~~~With Certain Golden Cat~~~~~~

A certain golden lion cub who was sleeping in her new royal bed stiffed for a second. Her ears stood up to max as she lifted her head and looked at her food provider.

Slowly she saw lines started to be drawn on his feet. Forming into a symbol from pure white energy. Once a portion of it was drawn another started to form in blue colour.

When this was done, white mist started to be generated from this symbol on his feed. 

These symbols didn't stop as another three formed around him, floating vertically around him in a circle.

Then…

Then…

Energies she never sensed before descended AND rose from the ground. Mixing themselves, causing very positive goosebumps feeling wash over. The spirit energy at that moment turned extremely pure! To the point that she forgot to sleep and started greedily absorbing it!

This was not the end as the symbols around her food provider started to pulse emitting sounds like nothing she has heard before.

The symbol which was on the ground started to move up and down with her food provider in the middle of it!

Whatever this was she didn't care. The energy was simply too good not to munch on it!

~~~~~~Later~~~~~~

I stopped meditating when morning arrived. The thing was I felt more refreshed with this meditation when purely sleeping. Though I did feel that I simply dozed off when I released the floodgates of these energies.

It was simply good!

Not only that but I did sense some improvements. I can sense spirit energy easier. I can easily discern myself from the rest. Simply because how… much my energy stands out.

It's like… slapping paint on white paper you will see it easily!

That just how obvious my Spirit energy is.

"Well, aren't you just dozing off?" I snorted as I saw my golden lion sleeping on her back. Drool was coming out of her mouth.

I realised that this feline has stuffed herself full and now she is sleeping!

"Who stuffed you with food? Seriously! You gonna need a diet if you going to continue like this!" I said while shaking my head. That moment I remembered those YouTube videos about fat cats.

Not regal at all!

After seeing how my cat is so full I went out to do my regular morning exercises before going to get some food.

In between all that I meet my cute silver head who started following me like a diligent puppy.

Not only that but she liked watching my exercises.

Eventually, she gathered her courage to ask me to show how to train in the use of her spear.

For that, I took a spear from one of the Palace Guards.

"Most spears have two types of attacks." I started with the basics.

"The thrust with sharp end and the blunt attack from the pole." As I explained I showed to her basic attacks with a spear.

Like thrust and pole attacks without utilising my body. The body used for extra attacks is more advanced.

"Now more luxurious and more beautiful ones, like yours, have extended sharp tip and which allows slash attacks as well. 

However, we will only touch upon that when you have bare bones down." As I finished explaining, my gaze went to her who was looking at me with her big purple eyes.

"...Wow, My Prince you know truly know how to fight with a spear! Yet, you same age as me!" Na'er said with an amazed tone.

"This is nothing impressive. I only showed the basics. Once you are done with the basics, we will spend time on each specific type of attack. 

Believe me when I say that you can spend decades just practising the blunt side of the spear."

"...You could!?" That moment the silver-haired girl asked with a confused look. She looked at the spear I was holding, probably wondering how on earth I could spend years just swinging the blunt side! There is nothing to learn more, isn't it!?

I smiled at her when I heard that. I was the same back then! But, then I saw what THE mad-lads can do with polearms in Tibet.

"Yes, now observe. I am only going to show this once." As I said that I took one of the stances I learned from Luohan monks in Tibet.

The moment I changed the 'intent' she stiffed and took a few steps back to make some space. 

Then I started the series of flurries with the side of the spear. While this was not a polearm staff I can still utilise the spear it has all that I need.

Right-swing, left-swing, spin, upwards smack, downwards smack, then of course leg moves which are incorporated from Praying Mantis style. From knee attacks to spin kicks with the spear.

One of the most difficult moves was when the spear is placed vertically and the body is at the top of the spear holding it upside down.

This was practically showing off. It is showing off but, it's a trap as well. It's meant to provoke the enemy to attack the pole and make the person fall to the ground. 

But the very last movement the monk would smack with a pole while descending with help of gravity. This however can be argued that it's a Taoist move because Taoists are all about provoking and then making the enemy pay for reckless attack.

Not that I care about the intent behind this move. After dropping myself down, I finished with my demonstrations and looked at the girl who was observing. Well, there was a whole group of palace guards and some servants coming to watch what I was doing.

"This is what you can do with the blunt side of the spear," I said to her as I walked over.

"Now. Let me show you the basics which you will need to master." As I said to her I motioned for everything to return to their work.

People quickly scrambled to return to their work.

"O-Okay!"

Na'er quickly nodded a couple of times in a few seconds flat! It looked very cute!

~~~~~~Later, Same Day~~~~~~

After breakfast, and morning training Xue Long took Na'er to Moon Pavilion. 

As always. His arrival was a big thing for the noble boys and girls.

However, they soon were disappointed to learn that they won't be able to get closer to him or even see what he will be doing here. 

The guards made sure that the prince is not disturbed by anyone.

Where Na'er was learning under Tang Yuehua, the fourth prince was cultivating in a separate room. 

It was quite interesting for him because this was the second time he used Heaven and Earth meditation and he could see what is happening in the pavilion. 

So, he simply knew when the lesson for the day was over and it was his turn to start teaching them.

"My Prince are just on time I just finished with my lessons." As Tang Yuehua said that she patted the head of Na'er who in turn looked… drained.

He nodded at her and walked over to the pair. He gently patted the head of the silver-haired girl as well. He could see how tired she was. It appears first thing is happening in theory which is making the girl in question use her brain muscles not her body ones.

'Well, she is a dragon. They are all about brute force.'

"Yes. We can start with my one. Na'er you will be joining too. And don't worry it's nothing taxing like the one you had to endure."

"...It wasn't hard, wasn't it?" Tang Yuehua looked at Na'er wondering if what he said was true.

The girl quickly shook her head. Far too quick to deny it. Thankfully the older lady bought this and didn't argue.

Na'er sighed in relief when no one was looking.

"Well, anyway, I will be teaching meditation art which will help with understanding between yourself and the Martial spirit and the world." 

The pair nodded. Still though Tang Yuehua was sceptical for the simple reason that she was looking for solutions for this all the time before she gave up. After all, she originally came from the top clan in Heavenly Dou Empire. 

The Clear Sky clan has a large amount of old knowledge and yet she didn't find anything. This is why she is quite sceptical that he can help her.

He motioned for them to get comfortable on sitting pillows on the ground. 

"Now, we going to practice Lotus meditation. One's legs have to be like this…"  as he said that he moved his legs into the lotus position.

"Arms like this…" He then showed how arms should be placed.

"First is the first stage, clearing one mind, at this time one should think of nothing related to THEIR earthly needs and desires. One needs to detach from the world. Once this is achieved then one should look at himself. 

Understanding self completely, and accepting what one is, is the key to progress further. Eventually last phase is becoming one with the land. Transcending what is a person and becoming part of the world." He explained the whole thing before looking at the pair who tried to grasp what he is saying.

"Let me give you a demonstration."

As he said that he closed his eyes and has fallen into a trance almost immediately after!

What happened next blew the pair's mind. There was a thin golden glow around his body.

On the ground, around him a golden circle manifested and then the lotus flower started to draw on its own, from pure spirit energy.

Moments later golden mist started to get emitted from the circle on the ground as the pair felt how… relaxing and serene it was to be around him. It's like he is warping space itself with this feeling.

A few moments later he opened his eyes and looked at them. All the effects around him simple disappeared the moment he did it!

"This is the technique, now you two try it out."

The pair of girls nodded dumbly at them. What they saw blew their mind. This was not something simple at all!

As Xue Long was waiting, he noticed it wasn't working as he was expecting. While they were doing it right, towards the direction he has wanted them. However, something was missing.

'Right! The sheer concept of that this is! They grasp what I want but not from the direction it should be.'

As he was thinking about this he could treat this like a technique of a sect or something like that.

'Heh… so not just anyone can do this without my guidance!'

"Okay, stop. Let me help you two how to grasp this."

As he said that the pair stopped and opened their eyes.
