12 Chapter 11: Combat Training

Class 1-B had a similar class where Monoma had a similar verbal roasting to Bakugo. He didn't have the same problems, but the class didn't hold back with their feelings about him pushing the rivalry with 1-A when they had only been there one day.

Lunch came and went, and specialization courses began. Midnight popped her head in the room, "All Might requested that we come to Hero Combat Training today. He sent me to get you since you asked to participate as a supervisor or even participant in some classes."

"Did he say why he requested you as well, Midnight?"

"When we aren't around students, please call me Nemuri. I consider us friends. He didn't say why, Inari."

We walked towards the training field and as we walked into sight All Might's voice boomed. "HAHAHA, the other teachers are here." All Might seems to already have gone over the rules because his note cards were in his hands. "I was wondering if our lady heroes could give us a demonstration of heroes vs. villains. One on one."

Midnight looked amused and she gave me a cheeky grin. "Do you want Hero or Villain?"

"I'll take Hero. I think I want to challenge myself against a seasoned hero. All Might, what's the time limit and victory condition?"

"Good question young Bishoujo. Incapacitation or capture of the opponent, or the hero making contact with the objective. The time limit is 5 minutes. The students will have 10 but the pros should have it a little harder. HAHAHA"

Midnight rushed off to prepare her fortress. All Might gave me a brief on the building. It was a three-floor building with a rear entrance and windows on the front facing the street and the side with a fire escape. Roof access was available. Midnight had never seen me fight so I had an element of surprise. If I could get the jump on her then I could finish the fight quickly. Each floor had a central room with only one entrance that had no windows. One of those would hold the bomb.

"BEGIN." All Might's voice rang through our earpieces. The best strategy that I had would be to create a distraction and end the fight before it even began. Midnight likely chose a room that was sealed and filled it with enough gas to knock out Gigantomachia, so a direct approach was not the right choice.

I started forming my stamina into a solid construct. I hadn't done anything but small platforms, barriers, or armor but I knew that I could likely get very intricate. I quickly molded it into a very familiar little form. Two little Bright blue foxes sat in front of me matching Zenko and Yako. I might be able to finish the fight with just these.

I found a small place to hide in the Alley and focused on controlling the little foxes. They checked rooms together. The first floor was clear, and both rooms on the second and third floors were closed. One was a decoy. I pushed my senses to see which one Midnight was hiding in. I found a blue glow on the third floor that was slowly growing dimmer. Not by a lot but it showed that she was using her quirk to fill the room further.

The two little foxes sat ready to pounce, The Senko look alike jumped at the door and latched onto the knob giving it a solid spin and opening the door. As soon as the door swung open, Midnight sent a kick out the door but only two little cute foxes greeted her.

The fox that hadn't fallen from the doorknob latched onto Midnight. Though it would eat my stamina a little, I quickly turned the little fox from the tiny creature into a binding that wrapped around Midnight's torso. The second fox then recovered and did the same to her legs. Midnight struggled for a little while but realized quickly that she couldn't escape. The fight was over.

All Might called the fight and the stamina bindings fell away from Midnight. She wore a look of shock on her face the entire time that we were walking back towards the students. "I can't believe you won the fight without even entering the building. Gosh, that is so frustrating. No wonder you were allowed to get your hero license early." I patted Nemuri on the back.

"THAT WAS A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE. As expected of the teachers of UA. HAHAHAHA." All Might was ecstatic that he was able to give a good example of heroes vs villains.

Nemuri and I hung out with the students in the waiting room watching all the fights. They went exactly like canon except for Ochaco's participation. Ochaco took on Bakugo instead of Midoriya and though Bakugo showed off his extreme talent in combat, Ochaco simply tapped him and threw him around with strong throws and holds.

Midoriya still ended up breaking his arm in the fight against Iida choosing to shatter the floor to stop him from running around. Ochaco simply tapped herself and flew to the bomb before retrieving the downed Midoriya.

Todoroki simply iced the building but then quickly melted it with his fire showing that he did not have the hesitation that he did in canon. Kaminari still fried his brain. The only other difference I guess was that Shinso made short work of Tokoyami and Dark Shadow after he hypnotized both.

Midoriya came back from the infirmary just as the last match was finishing up. He looked a little upset that he didn't get to see more of the quirks but before he could ask about the other fights All Might actually asked a reflective question.

"ALL RIGHT. What was the difference between all your fights, and Kyuubi and Midnight's?" I was so proud of All Might.

Momo was quick on the answer. "Sir, it was almost everything. I do not think that even a single one of the hero groups used the briefs on the building the villains were trapping. Almost every group had some sort of property damage. There were minor injuries in most fights and complete incapacitations or knockouts in most fights. But their fight sir. It was perfect.

"Kyuubi showed that she had excellent control over her quirk and that she knew how Midnight would operate. She created a method to trap and capture Midnight using her own trap against her. She completely disabled the villain without injury to the villain and without needing to risk any personal harm. I see now why she was allowed to become a pro so early."

"WELL SAID. With that, I must go. I expect a one-page paper from each of you by our next class about one way you could have improved the efficiency of your team without just using better teamwork as an example. Give me something practical and explain how it may have changed the outcome of the match.

"All Might, AAAWAAAAAY….." His voice trailed off as he leaped to the sky.

What a doofus.
