Chapter 3 : Chaos management - time branch

' I wonder how Bang is doing ? He is always bothered by Rondo who knew about the anti-matter bomb ' Sadie smiled remembering how Bang's solar system was bought to the forgotten realms where worlds can be saved since they were going to be annihilated from existence .

' Though Rondo plays good music he wanted to end it using the anti-matter bomb as silence ... He can already control disasters very well . ' " Princess your storytelling to yourself again aren't you ? "

" Yeah you should try it too it's just like mumbling to yourself about spells and theories you know " Atryx sighs and drops his body " Say how come you made the forgotten realms ? I heard it was where worlds randomly get sent but after that story with Kairos , I don't think it was supposed to be that way . "

She smiled as Skia left them alone " You're right I wanted to at least do something when I can do it without any effect on the rest ... I can never want to make perfection , it feels empty which is why I loved it when so many unknown things were gonna happen ... it feels like a challenge everywhere "

" Say princess " " What is it ? " " Before I was going to die I was very afraid " " Everyone is at first ... your life is worth so much you didn't want to let it go . " " I thought that too ... but at death's bed I was also thinking "

" thoughts like "I wish I was immortal" so I don't have to care about death , that I should fix my mistake at least "

" Then what ? " " I thought about all the deaths and ruined settlements caused by war and thought to myself ... "Aren't I lucky to die like this even after I lived for a very long time than the children who weren't even born ?" "

Sadie smiles as she hears Atryx's story " The sad part is death took them away from their mothers ... but they're now spirits, aren't they ? " Atryx's eyes widened as he turned to Sadie .

" Really ? " " Spirits are numerous because they don't cling to many things . Emotions like dying in peace do not turn one into a spirit . It is how the person felt before and during death . "

The pond showed a view of a soul coming out of the body via astral projection " The soul of the person leaves their body as they don't cling onto it so when they leave their body they start consuming thoughts that lingered on the world "

Papers , writings and drawings appeared beside the dead baby " It doesn't matter whether it is written by a mindless machine as the writings are sensed to be true by the world's laws . If the drawing was to illustrate how fire burns the world gives confirmation and the spirit absorbs the thought "

" But " Atryx signaled and Sadie continued " Not everything you hear or see can be easily believed everyone has their own point of view . " " At least they're alive and well ... thank you princess for saving the dead spirits who couldn't be saved at the previous timeline "

Sadie patted Atryx's head smiling " Of course, I wanted to at least save all of you but don't think I was the only reason you're still alive " he chuckled knowing Sadie meant the spirit's rebirth by the person's own self that didn't cling into anything ambitious .

" Yeah but still thank you " ' It sounds much better coming from a stranger who understands '

Ti finished her business at Deon's old world and did some traveling ' Wonder if Deon is worried about other things here ' she thought wandering across the fields of grass as she scooped some water and drank it .

' No poison , filtered very well from the mountains and so far this does not have anything artificial ' Ti walked out of the forest and found a modern city ' Should be a good place to find info '

Ti walked to the entrance in a human form holding a forged ID ' Elves huh they might sense my presence but hopefully , this will cover me ' Ti walked through the streets looking around and grabbing a newspaper .

' Hmm , strange no news on the time authorities ' Ti told herself .

Ti was one of the spirits who protected Sadie during the time when she froze time on the world but it caught the attention of a bunch of rule keepers when she completed it and probably more than just that kind of authority over the rules of nature .

She walked around hoping to find her informer " Hello Ti " Ti was caught by hands as she was pulled to an old man " Why did you choose this form you look so adorable like this "

The old geezer said holding the small body Ti has in an alleyway " Geezer can you please let me go " " Despite your appearance , I would be the one calling you a geezer " " Just tell me you didn't see anything wrong ? "

" How about the talk with Rondo " the name Rondo caught Ti's attention as she turned back into her usual spirit form " What did you talk with Rondo ? " " Well he didn't talk much and I already put up a barrier to block sound in case you suddenly came to a realization "

Ti sighs and checks the spell if it will work " So he said about some kind of disaster that would be good to play his music but it is basically the usual kind of speaking so I asked where he said the spirit realm but his instinct doesn't tell him the "magnet" "

" So what else did you talk ? " " I asked if it was the spirit princess , but he didn't answer and left without me noticing anything " " Why do you think it is Princess who is the magnet ? " " Didn't you tell me she was the one who created the spirit realm at the beginning of time I was wondering why she didn't do it at the present instead "

" Because she wants to make sure she gets all of the spirits " " That's understandable but doing so attracted more attention , although they never noticed before now that the spirit realm had been revealed to the world ... don't you think the way it was revealed a little bit too high profile ? "

" I don't know about that but how did they react " " Very badly they didn't like it back then even though you were protecting her " " I know but what else was I supposed to do she gave us a second chance quite literally and figuratively . "

" She sounds like a sweet girl " " Yeah she told us some strange stories too " " Like what ? " " That's not important tell me do you know what kind of trouble Rondo thought about tell me he told you where he last went "

" He didn't tell me anything " " So many dead ends " Ti sighed and looks around the alleyway ' wish there was another place we can talk ' " But he did say something about his instruments "

" Right he uses the wind as an instrument that like a flute " " Well this instrument is actually called "baton" , I didn't know what it was " " But he didn't beat around and left " " Actually I asked him and he explained it as an instrument used to direct the instructions in an orchestra "

Ti thinks about what he said " Is he planning to make a mess I thought he only plays along with the disaster not create more to play along " " But he also wants to make sure he gets some claps before he can use it " Ti started to imagine what Rondo wanted " Antimatter bomb he's probably after what brought Bang's world to the forgotten lands "

" Conf is there a spirit here ? " " Hmm there's another spirit here ? " a small spirit carrying a tray bigger than it by holding the tray at one side revealed herself to the taller spirit " Hello Line she is a spirit though I wonder if she is a chaos " " Chaos ? " " Ah right sometimes Conf would think that there is a chaos that disguised themselves as spirits "

" Chaos huh aren't they creatures that don't follow the rules ? " " Yes they fit your bill by the way I think Princess is a chaos too " " Well spirits don't really have any reasons behind our "magic" it's just called that cause it's the closes we can think of them as " Ti confirmed to them " And Chaos is just the same only that they break the very rules or make new ones "

" Yep I'll probably have to look into that but according to my memories of the previous timeline everything went exactly the same way but no matter how I think of it how is the princess so powerful enough that even they didn't notice her " " That's a mystery you spirits might want to solve but I can tell your princess didn't do it other than create the spirit realm and save lost lives . "

" She is kind isn't she " Line said as she cuts the lasagna on the tray and put it on a plate handing it to another human " But aren't chaos a little different than spirits ? " Ti asked " Yes , they are born from unnatural phenomena so don't you think that your kind of spirits can make them ? " " Sounds like you have us the title of creators of chaos ? "

" You could say that but do you know I'm not the only one who thinks like that right ? " " I know that is one of the reasons why spirits are eaten by cacodemons and elysians to try and get that ability " " But you can't really get that kind of ability , can you ? " " Yep after all spirits are not materialistic so even if they take Rondo's baton to start a disaster they can't actually use it "

" Care for some milk ? " Line gave Ti a glass of milk holding it up with two hands " Hey Ti Line isn't as capable as you are right ? " " Not sure I never heard her story or hobbies but I don't mind she's kind hopefully nothing bad happens to her " " Yeah she travels around a lot of times and some spirits keep telling me to follow her to make sure she doesn't get hurt "

" And you listened " " I don't really mind I could do some traveling after all I have all the time in the world " " Yeah you do dang immortal " Ti smiles sincerely with a pat on Conf before she got down from the barrel she was standing on and went back to the spirit realm .

" I think I need to ask Princess about chaos " " Ask her what now ? " " Deon oh my god , stop sneaking to me like that " " Sorry " Deon apologized head looking down " Yes I need to talk about chaos Princess made another timeline with the years before she froze time exactly the same and she merged it without giving us two identities "

" Right she did tell us that " " So wouldn't she create a very powerful chaos from that ? " Deon put his hand or paw on his chin and processed for a while " If she does then she'd have a lot of chaos created " " But she did say she has everything in control " " Including the chaos ? " " Seems so why else would she tell us everything "

Ti sighs and sat down " Remember when Bang completely wiped out his world off its existence ? " " Then it allows more other spirits to appear just like the others " " Mmhmm well I am thinking what if there is an opposing force of spirits " " Like Order ? Some spirits can make Chaos " " And some Spirits can make Order "

" They can ? " " Yes of course Chaos is for those who defy rules then those who follow the rules will create more order but it doesn't mean a spirit can't have both " " Hello Ti and Deon " Trax smirked looking from under them " Oh hello should I address you as tyrant , pixie or just the name "

" I don't care at all " Trax said with a big smile " Course you don't " Deon crouched down to lower his level a little " Trax how have you been ? " " Good some weak giants from the material realm are begging me to give them a shortcut for strength " " By giant do you mean in your perspective or a species "

" It's about them being powerful yet below me " " Then have you found any of those authoritative groups of people who try to make you under them ? " " Ah why should I look for them ? " Trax arrogantly yelled which held meaning even though the volume was loud to him to others it was only slightly louder but it held the arrogance of the tyrant pixie .

" You really enjoy yourself " Ti said taking a seat and Trax hopped on another stone yelling out " Of course I do , I don't care what are the consequences it's their fault they can't handle me " " Yeah just don't make a mess on the spirit realm " Deon begged the tyrant .

But he got Trax to form a disgusted and angry expression " Haaah ?? As if I want to this place doesn't have good fighters at all Princess doesn't fight close combat at all I admit that her capability of fusing two timelines is great but it doesn't mean I hold her on a pedestal higher than mine "

' Yep arrogant like he was told as ' They both thought looking at Trax as he talked ' " How about you tell me anything that would be interesting ? " Trax said laying down with his foot up in the air " Nah we got nothing fun but there is one place you'd like to go " Ti intrigued Trac and whispered the words " Ho good job then I'm off "

Deon looked at Ti trying to guess what world she was referring to " Don't mind he won't be in our way for now at least " " So what took you so long at the material realm ? " " I spoke with Conf about Rondo he is planning to use his baton to command the music or in our sense natural and man-made disasters he probably plans to get Bang's anti-matter bomb "

" For the audience applause ? " " Oh no for like silencing his orchestra " " Wow and I was thinking of something much worse than that "

" Open me a portal " Trax laid on the small boat that can give him space to lay his body that could stand on a human child's two palms . A portal opened on the pond as his boat ride the waves setting his path " I need a weapon " he looked at the branch in front of him and smirked he took the branch snapping it from the end " This should be good enough "

The branch was around twice the size of a toothpick but due to his size the length was fine and so was the shape " Make way for me " he arrogantly ordered as the portal aligned the water levels so his boat can pass like it was on the same sea .

He smiles with his eyes looking up at the sky of the sea " What a pleasant sea " his eyes caught a butterfly as more flew above him " Huh what a magnificent show " he enjoyed watching the light show the butterflies made for him using the sunlight " keep entertaining me till I reach my destination "

Trax commanded as he enjoys the show which became even more beautiful as more butterflies flew to join ' Good thing Ti gave me this information ' he smiled and sniffed the air of some material " Enchanted woods ? " he tilted his head a little and looked in front of him seeing that his high speed yet smooth boat was interrupted by a ship .

Trax sighed as he lay down and a giant wave slowly rose to push the ship upward while the wave made a hole by pushing the water very quickly when the flow of the water was parallel to the sea so Trax's boat can pass " How thoughtful of you " Trax drifted to sleep as the ship and wave's shadow created a night like condition and the butterflies shined like stars and the moon .

The passengers of the boat were lucky that Trax wanted to sleep as the wave made sure that the water flow allowed their ship to land safely on the water " What was that ? " the passenger of the boat were too shocked to understand this phenomenon " Everyone do not panic there was no sea monster it was a spirit passing by "

The word "spirit" arouse gossip but the wind silenced them in case they accidentally disturb Trax . Even though the wind silenced their gossip they could still hear the snores of Trax ' So the stories were true strange things usually happen when a strong spirit is around '

They all talked to themselves as Trax drifted to the shore of the island and the waves woke him up " Hmm Carnage was right about a short nap " he smiles and got off the boat looking at the island " Huh ? " Trax felt something that he could sense in the spirit realm " An elemenium huh ? "

...

Sadie walked through the Time authorities . While she may be a spirit she can concentrate her powers to order since while she made her own chaos she also made order and the authoritative powers of higher places respect order a lot which is a short term for the rules of nature .

So naturally , the members are all Order ' Hmm they really did manage to keep the butterflies from flapping before the time freeze ' Sadie knew about the time authorities because they themselves helped her unintentionally when she wanted to avoid the butterflies from flapping .

But she didn't like their methods so she used them as a dangerous enemy radar and stopped any changes in the timeline before the change could happen . But right after she fused the timeline and broke her spell the authorities have been trying their best to eliminate her existence .

And additionally , destroy the spirit realm which shouldn't have existed and many other butterfly effects made by Sadie . The forgotten realm was one of the most important ones just like the spirit realm .

This is where Sadie transported matter and souls that can no longer exert influence on the timeline even if they were gone like planets destroyed by an antimatter bomb like Bang's . She went to the sacred timeline feeling like this was just like the marvel series she watched .

' But to think that the higher-up is not only a powerful being of order but even stronger having multiple sets of memories . ' Sadie knew the history behind the time authorities very well .

The being of order was a fusion of countless futures and all decided on one future before becoming one . Of course , it didn't mean anything to futures where this person didn't exist or didn't become a similar person . But just because the boss denied the possible futures it didn't mean there was now just a single timeline .

Thanks to this boss creating a single timeline for the worlds they existed in , but the fusion reach through different worlds fusing their futures into a single timeline too . This was obviously not something Sadie finds morally attached to . Since fusing timelines could erase the existence of people not just killing them but erasing their existence .

' If I reference the Loki series then there might be someplace where they hide the chaos which they can't recycle to create order ' that's right there are some babies which are made from corpse . Though the life cycle of a butterfly is the same .

Sadie used her cover identity by infiltrating the authorities as an order of similar strength . The authorities misunderstood Sadie and they never knew what she looks like as the spirit princess since spirit's never kept a photo of her . So when she blended in no one suspected her and gave her high authority .

" I want to interrogate the prisoner " Sadie slipped her card and walked in as she saw a gaseous form behind the glass ' Poor thing I can't let you stay for any longer ' Sadie felt if there were any gazes other than the chaos in front of her ' You'll be fine " she used an ethereal mind voice on telepathy and the chaos froze not knowing who it came from .

" It didn't work " Sadie left the prison and went to her workplace where she detected travelers and sent forces to undo their actions by sending the travelers back to their time and a cleaning group to gather the chaos energy .

The time authority is one of the branches of the major authoritative force . The roots would be the chaos management a society full of order beings who respect the rules of the world . If chaos and order were to have a faction war then the order would win since they are united while chaos was in a mess .

The spirits were the biggest creators of both order was created when a problem in nature was fixed just like Sadie who created another timeline but didn't change the course until after her spell and fusing both timelines destroying one possible but nonexistent future .

When she fused the two timelines she fixed the time before her spell which allowed some order to be created . But she never created either of the beings since she couldn't create a full chaos or order being but only the energy of each opposing force .

Sadie walked to her office which had many rewards and a frame of her little body caring the rewards like an accomplished girl's scout ' It would be bad if they keep harassing Chaos so much ' she didn't like the fact that some chaos was turned too slave by the chaos managements .

She sighs and looks at a frame of her photo in others' eyes they can't completely see the whole picture as they can only see Sadie smiling holding a paper windmill but in her eyes , she saw her big family .

She smiles and looked at another with the same traits as the previous with the cover of the picture as an empty festival but with the filter , it was the spirit festival where spirits gather to tell stories or write about them .

' Hmm they're happy after I freed the spirit realm ' she smiles as she felt the guilt of keeping the disinformation of her spell hidden to keep them from changing the course of events before her spell ' Maybe it's a good thing to let them know ' she looked on the glass window that showed a big view of the authorities operation .

There were many kinds of chaos that were captured from the resulting distortions . Another note to remember about the Order's biology is that as long as nothing strange happens order will keep growing in population and strength .

' I'm sorry I wish I can help ' Sadie held her tears as she looked in the direction of the powerful chaos ' But now I can help ' the prison door broke after the guard change and the chaos inside left . Right after it did the rest of the chaos started to run amok .

Sadie went to a telephone and called the boss " Sir !!! " Sadie acted out a panicked voice as a calm one sounded from the other side .

" remain calm I was already informed that a Chaos has been set loosed " " I would like to request assistance in my negotiation with the spirit princess " she heard silence and the mood of the call took a change " Do you know what you are talking about " Sadie swallowed her breath to contribute to her acting .

" I know I didn't mean to erase the trace but I did it because I wanted to make sure that it doesn't give any escaped chaos a chance to leave but now I understand that the offer would be beneficial "

Since Sadie's cover identity had plenty of contributions to the authorities she can at least voice out her thoughts and has the greatest possibility of getting into contact with the spirit princess in the eyes of others .

" Tell me about the offer " " She wants to bring the chaos to another realm she created and is asking us to not interfere with her invitation " " And your thoughts " " I can't tell I don't know if this was her being kind or if she was gathering forces or "

" Let her be " " But sir " " Spirits don't care about conflict if she can help clean the mess it would be good , I know a spirit's nature more than anyone here "

Sadie nodded " Then you agree with her decision ? " " Yes she won't be a threat to the chaos managements she can clean this mess up but we need to find out how the chaos escaped " " Then may I leave it to the other managers ? " " You can you deserve a break " " Thank you "

Sadie's plan wasn't to help the chaos at all but to make sure that the chaos will always escape no matter what so she can keep sending portals to the time authorities and take the chaos away .

In this way no matter how the time authorities assume that there was someone helping them and catching them , the chaos can always leave since their escape was made on their own . It would be much more beneficial for Sadie if the time authorities were to abolish since at one point their soft ways will be destroyed by a tyrant .

' If only they were harsh to the time travelers instead of the chaos ' Sadie sighs and uses a tool to open a portal through space-time and appeared beside an indicated portal to the spirit realm " Leave that tool behind " " Do it "

Sadie acted her part shaking her legs and dropping it as a spirit caught the device and ran off " I have nothing to communicate with the outside world " the portal widened to Sadie's cover identity's height and the last thing the top manager of the time authorities saw was Sadie entering the portal and the portal closing .

" What ? " the boss reversed time on Sadie's computer and found the deal gone from existence " To think even she erased that what exactly is in the contract to make it so confidential " they ( The boss is a being of multiple identities thus the pronoun used is they ) also reversed time on Sadie but found nothing .

" Don't tell us " ' The deal was to take her past away ? What benefits does it have ? ' sadly Sadie planned to leave the authorities now that she herself has completed what she needed and took her past away as her office was emptied .

The boss got a call and they answered it " Hello " " Sir how about using the empty office to promote a new manager ? " " Yes do that " they sighed thinking about what had happened .

Meanwhile , Sadie was celebrating with herself eating a kebab with a smile ' I finally did it now the chaos will have somewhere they can escape to ' she looked at the water cup in her house and dropped a little tea leaf as the chaos realm appeared and the small wave widened the vision .

She smiled watching the different forms of chaos running amok ' At least they don't have to listen anyone anymore ' then she saw Rondo still in the spirit realm " yeah he seems to be having fun "

Sadie drank the tea as the leaves dissolved and thought of what Rondo would do ' I have one thing out off my shoulders ' Sadie looked at the spirit realm through her window and smiled " I hope nobody hunts any more spirits ... It's really scary for something so big to ruin this peace "

Sadie closed her eyes and saw a giant figure " What happened ? " the light coming from it was too bright and she looked under it to see a platform but the figure was floating above and then she looked at the bigger picture showing a scale and at the other side was another figure .

" What is this ? " she saw a giant hand grab the stand and another hand pointed it at Sadie ' I feel like I'm being tested ' the scales trembled and when she looked up she saw a giant figure like a statue but instead of stones , its body was like a view of the universe .

The scales trembled even more as the floating figures at both sides touched the stand of both sides . Before she could see the results she woke up with her head jolted out of her resting hands .

" Ugh when did I sleep ? " she looked at the tea leaves she used and realized they were for a good night's sleep hence the name "good night tea leaves" " Spirits are so fun " Sadie heard something fall out of her table and picked up the knife .

" From Skia : Thank you for helping us I hope the tea leaves help you rest for a while ... Thank you " Sadie found went to the tea container and stuck the letter to an empty spot and smiled ' If I knew I should've drank it after falling on bed '

Sadie chuckled and then took the tea container to bring it to her bedroom ' Hmm I wonder what else I should do I already took care of the time branch of the chaos management which was the biggest one , especially after my spell '

There were other branches of chaos management the time authority was the time branch and the rest were reality cleaning up the effects of things that shouldn't happen , space to close the portals that were left open and the current space laws were not strong enough to close it and etc .

They were like the enforcers of the natural laws which is why some portals are closed so there won't be any errors in space-time which may lead to time travel , banishment from the dimension , transmigration , loss or gain of abilities , et cetera et cetera .

Sadie was fine with that until a certain branch grew out that had the job of capturing the chaos for the other branches which she solved by making the chaos capable of escaping their hands and this kind of event will keep repeating .

She would cut off this branch of chaos management so she had saved the chaos from enslavement and even gave them a home " It's so enjoyable watching the chaos move so excitedly "

The chaos had too much potential to just lay around so they are now creating a lot of things and destroying things " I need to make sure life and death don't get them too crazy " Sadie laughed looking at the chaos who were like naughty children with their own set of skills .

" Rondo I made a realm full of chaos " she opened a portal and a crack appeared outside her house " Bye princess " Rondo rushed out of the crack and ran into the portal as Sadie waved ' Spirits are carefree no matter the appearance '
