9 Chapter 9

I have to say, the Ultimate Universe's Spider-Man is really awesome, with his hands pulling all the stops.

You know, Spider-Man is not Batman, all he has are superpowers, not money powers.

He can't rely on money to get all his materials, resources, etc.

So its surprising that this world's Spider-Man have such a large fortune on his own.

"You there. It's the same as here?" Miles looked at middle-aged Peter with awe.

He thought that Middle-aged Peter was also such a great existence.

Middle-aged Peter was a little embarrassed, "My place... Well, it's about the same as here, I guess. Just no jeeps or planes . It feels like it's, uh, a smaller version."

The more he spoke, the more his voice lowered to the point that the others have a hard time hearing him.

By this time, the anti-gravity hover lift had landed firmly on the ground, right in the middle of a spider pattern.

Lights came from all around.

On one side was a set of standing cabinets loaded with different shapes of battle suits.

Counting through, there were twelve sets.

And as a fairly loyal fan of Spider-Man (having seen the movie and played several versions of the game), Mark found that he could only recognize about half of them.

For example, one of the suits, which looked a bit like Captain America's battle suit, was called the Electro Proof Costume, which Spider-Man had developed to deal with Electro.

There was also a red and blue suit with a large white spider on the chest, called the Advanced Suit, a popular model from the game Marvel's Spider-Man, which had a very pronounced muscle tone when worn and was Mark's favourite when he played that game.

The other set in red and gold is even cooler, a steel spider suit made entirely of nano-metal, with four steel spider arms on the back, which was originally created by Iron Man for the Marvel Cinematic Spider-Man.

There is also the Spider-Mark 1, which is bulkier, and the Spider-Mark 2, which is relatively lightweight and is designed to be quite bulletproof against heavy weapons.

However, Spider-Man has always been an agile fighter, so he doesn't like this type of battle suit and didn't really bothered to use it much.

Seeing this, Mark subconsciously touched his own body.

There was actually another battle suit on himself, which was the normal red and blue colour scheme, and also this was the everyday choice of basically all Spider-Men named Peter Parker.

So, counting the one on himself, the Peter Parker of this world actually has thirteen spider suits.

—-—

Middle-aged Peter was not too impressed by these battle suits.

At this moment he was standing in front of a table, holding a picture frame in his hand - it was a picture of Mary Jane belonging to this world.

In his world, for some reason, he and Mary Jane had broken up long ago.

In touch with the scene, middle-aged Peter's heart fell a little.

At that moment, Miles went to a standing cabinet and pointed to the spider's cloak and said to the middle-aged Peter, "Peter, look, isn't this the cloak?"

Hearing Miles' words, middle-aged Peter looked back and laughed lightly.

Mark and the others listened with a puzzled expression.

Other than the two of them, the others did not know what the words meant.

When the two had gone together earlier to steal information on the particle collider from Kingpin's lab, Miles had worn a costume with a cape and had been teased by middle-aged Peter, who had told him that no Spider-Man would wear a cape because it was inconvenient.

And he didn't expect to get slapped in the face here.

But Miles' gag washed away middle-aged Peter's sinking mood.

Mark also walked over to a pair of standing cabinets.

"I heard you were just bitten by a spider?"

Gwen walked up next to him at some point.

'Why does everyone asks me that question?'

Puzzled, Mark glanced at the blonde girl and nodded without speaking.

Gwen fluttered her gorgeous eyes and opened her seductive lips once again as she said using her soothing voice, "You said you were a Martian researcher, is it possible to land on Mars on your world already?" (A/N: Yes. I just did that. Fight me if you can)

Mark gave her an odd look, a little confused as to why Gwen had suddenly approached her to strike up a conversation.

And an awkward conversation at that.

But he replied politely, "No, our world is not even as technologically advanced as this one, and research on Mars is usually done with rovers and the like. Why?"

"Nothing, I'm just curious." Gwen said with a bright smile.

Mark was unfazed by this. (A/N: Calm down, degenerates)

Gwen is only 15 years old, mind you.

Although the fast developments of teenagers made her look shapely and mature, as a normal adult with a decent and untainted brain, Gwen looked like a little girl to him at best.

So he isn't a lolicon or whatever.

"I don't suppose that's what you're trying to say?" Mark said.

Gwen had an embarrassed look on her face, "Well, I was actually curious about what you said earlier about Miles. You said that you knew what he was capable of, is that true? But you obviously weren't with us this afternoon."

Mark smiled, "It's true, it may not be the Miles of this world, but I do know what Miles is capable of."

"And you've seen the Miles of other worlds? You've been to other worlds? Could it be that you are a Spider-Man with the ability to travel to other worlds? A Space-Time Spider-Man?" Gwen's pretty eyes went wide for a moment.

Mark smiled and shook his head, "Of course not, I've just, uh, played the game with Miles as the main character."

Gwen: "What?"

Miles: "Wait what?"

It turned out that Miles had also come to the two at some point and happened to overhear Mark's words.

Not only that, but even the others looked over.

They were all Spider-Men with superpowers, and since Mark hadn't lowered his voice or something, they had all heard what he said using their enhanced hearing.

So they too dropped what they were doing and came this way.

"With me as the main character of the game?" Miles' eyes widened, "Are you serious? Is there a me in your world too? A me that's as much famous as Spider-Man?"

Because after this world's Spider-Man became famous, many peripherals related to Spider-Man did come out.

Not the least of which were games and the likes.

So Miles subconsciously assumed that was how Mark knew about him as well.

"That's not it, we don't have Spider-Men in that world, but there are numerous movies, games, etc. that featured Spider-Man, so I know a lot of stories about Spider-Man from various worlds, one of which is you, Miles." Mark patiently said as he looked at Miles.

There was first a silence in the large spider cave.

And then that silence was broken in an instant.
