13 Chapter 13

Question:

What is the acceleration of gravity at 40 degrees north latitude?

How many seconds does it take to land from a fifteen metre jump in the air here?

Answer:

From h = gt we get:

t=√2h/g=√2×15/9.8 s≈√3.061224s≈ 1.75s

This means that it is approximately 1.75s.

1.75 seconds, at a normal human breathing rate, might not even be enough time for one exhalation and one inhalation.

However, the thrill of jumping from a height can make your heart beat faster and you hold your breath at the same time.

Also, the adrenaline is rapidly pumping.

And that was exactly what Mark was doing at the moment.

No, it was even more amazing.

The 1.75 seconds felt so long to him.

He could clearly feel himself blink and then see the dust that had accumulated on the ground from too long without anyone arriving.

Could see a few industrious worker ants struggling to carry the body of a small dead spider under a plank of wood.

Then Mark even spun around in the air.

He saw a row of heads poking out of the beams.

Shadow Spider-Man's unreadable face, hidden under his visor.

The way Spider-Ham's mouth was still chewing a hot dog, but his eyes were looking down past his pig snout.

Middle-aged Peter held out his right hand in a firing gesture, as if ready to rescue.

Gwen's gaze was calm, but her fingers were also pressed down on the web shooter

"Fire!" Shadow Spider-Man's voice rang out, snapping Mark out of this wondrous state.

Mark subconsciously pressed the button on the spider silk launcher in his palm.

Phew..

A white mass flew out from his wrist and stuck firmly to the ceiling.

Thump!

Mark's body came to an abrupt halt the moment it was about to touch the ground, but this transformation from extreme motion to extreme stillness was only slightly uncomfortable for Mark and did not put too much of a burden on his body.

But Mark did not notice this.

He was now using the momentary momentum of the spider silk to shoot out and his body was flying upwards.

Boom!

Mark's figure smashed heavily against the ceiling, his limbs subconsciously stretched out.

Then, he climbed upside down in such a stable manner!

His powers, finally activated!

Mark thought that he would be extremely excited, but at this moment, with his body hanging upside down from the ceiling in such an inhuman way, he found himself in an incomparable state of peace.

It was as if this was the world he was supposed to be in.

This is how he should be.

Whoosh...

A figure appeared beside Mark.

It was the Shadow Spider-Man.

His voice was slightly relieved under his mask: "Great, you did it!"

"Yes, thank you," Mark thanked from the bottom of his heart; without Shadow Spider-Man's encouragement, he didn't know how long it would have been before he dared to take this step.

"What about me?" Spider-Ham swished over as well.

"Uh, sure, I'd like to thank you too," Mark laughed.

"And me?" Gwen somehow managed to come along for the ride.

Mark: ". Well, I thank you too."

Whoosh...

Middle-aged Peter also came near Mark.

Mark hastily reached out, "You don't have to say anything, I'm thankful too."

"Hahahaha -" All of them then broke into laughter.

Swish!

Just then, he don't know if it was because the ability had just been activated and used unskillfully or what, but the adhesion on Mark's hand suddenly failed, and with this release, he fell down.

"Shit!" Mark shouted and hurriedly reached out to spit out another web.

With the pull of the web, he was able to get back to the ceiling.

"Looks like you need more practice." Gwen said seriously.

"Well, next, let's get back to that steel," Shadow Spider-Man said, hanging from the ceiling with one hand and pointing down with the other, relaxed.

Mark was rather envious of this.

For the only way he could feel more at ease now, without holding onto the spider silk, was to have both hands and feet on the ceiling at the same time.

Otherwise there was a risk of falling, as he had just done.

With his hands and feet pressed to the ceiling, he turned his head back to look and estimated the distance between himself and the beam.

Then he leapt, his body like a spider with a catapult start, and dropped sharply towards the beam.

And then Mark's hand slapped heavily on the beam and he drew a breath of cold air.

It turned out that he had pushed too hard, causing him to jump a little too far.

Instead, he subconsciously went to grab the beam, and naturally he hit it hard.

Mark subconsciously then let go of his hand.

At that moment, a soft palm reached out and gripped his wrist.

Mark looked up and saw that it was Gwen.

Gwen gave a slight pull.

Mark then used the force to get up onto the beam.

"Thanks," Mark thanked Gwen after letting go.

Gwen smiled slightly, "No need to thank me, you'd better hurry up and practice, cause when the key is finished, we are all going to find that Kingpin together."

"Mmm." Mark nodded his head repeatedly.

As the saying goes, once you've done it, you'll be familiar with it twice.

After the first successful experience of launching spider silk and climbing, the second and third times naturally came quickly.

This time, without even being pushed, Mark made a few adjustments and then jumped off the beam again of his own accord.

Thanks to his previous experience of playing Spider-Man, his proficiency in using the spider silk began to increase rapidly as he got the initial feel for it.

And soon, he found pleasure in it.

His figure flew back and forth through the abandoned warehouse with reckless abandon, even using his increasing passive ability Spidey Senseto find obstacles to navigate.

Flight.

It has always been the dream of mankind.

And now, he too could fly freely through the air with his spider silk!

Even if there was nothing else, this alone was already worth a thousand dollars.

As Mark played happily alone, The group also watched him as well.

Middle-aged Peter commented, "This guy is quite a fast learner, he already got a pattern."

Spider-Ham said, "I think his moves are pretty cool. Oh look at that aerial twist, oh my!"

Gwen agreed, "He moves like a dancer, aerials, not particularly pretty yet, but full of potential. I'm starting to like him."

Shadow Spider-Man shook his head, "Looks good, but too many fancy moves. Barely passable for a novice though."

"Hey mate, don't be so harsh, he's only just starting out." Middle-aged Peter said.

Shadow Spider-Man shrugged, "Well, I thought it was good too. I'll correct him though, it's dangerous and there's no need to be so fancy."

After Mark had been familiarising himself with it for about half an hour and felt that he had largely mastered the web shooter in conjunction with his body, Shadow Spider-Man called him to a halt.

"Hey, Mark, if you keep playing like that, this room is going to be too full of webs to stay in! Get down now." Shadow Spider-Man shouted.
