Peter was working on the article for Daily Bugle's next week newspaper. He was making emphasis on Spider-Man lowering the crime index and making the lives of citizens more peaceful. It helped and people started changing their opinions about New-York's new superhero. However, some of them were not supporting Spider-Man's methods, as he was technically breaking the law by killing and injuring criminals.

(A week after)

The newspaper was sold out which led to Peter getting a high bonus once again. He had about 120 000$ in his savings and decided to invest most of this money on the rent of a bigger place so that he can use it as both training and laboratory. He rented a big hangar in Queens not far away from his home and started moving all of his items from the abandoned building there. He continued to train his fighting skills.

(After another week)

Peter's new workplace was finally ready. He bought a metal door with a special panel to enter a pin-code so that nobody would be able to enter without his permission. He was working on increasing the power of his electric web-bombs, as the voltage he used was barely enough to kill the Green Goblin. He knew that he was going to face much more dangerous villains soon, it was only the beginning...

Peter was right because when he was working on his inventions something happened on the other side of a city in the main building of Oscorp. On one of the top floors scientists were testing their new product, it was a titanium prosthesis that was developed by Dr. Otto Octavius. It was a chest harness that allows the user to control four mechanical, tentacle-like arms. The tentacles were very durable, completely radiation-resistant, and were able to extend to more than 7 meters. They were created to make scientists able to work with radioactive substances from a safe distance.

It was one of Oscorp's main projects that has been in development for a long time and was only a few weeks away from being presented and advertised to the public. The product was on its final stage of development and was tested in practical use.

Dr. Octavius put the harness on himself and used it while working with chemicals, he controlled them by the power of thought and was sure that the invention did not have any flaws. Unfortunately, he was wrong...

During this test, one of the tentacles moved to the other side accidentally causing two chemicals mixing. This resulted in the explosion that bombarded the scientist with radiation. The explosion was so powerful that it affected half the floor, walls and windows broke down. Because of the blast wave, some scientists including Otto Octavius flew out of the building...

He was in a panic and did not know what to do, he was also falling faster than others because of the weight of the tentacles. After a few seconds, he realized that he can use his mechanism to try to clutch at the edge of the building. It was much easier than he expected, his tentacles were holding him at a height of about 150 meters from the ground. He also tried to grab the scientists with his mechanical hands but managed to save only one of them, it was Dr. Walters. The other two crashed to the ground right in front of the main entrance to the building.

(A few minutes later)

Dozens of journalists and reporters were there trying to get the information from the company representatives. This accident became a headliner of August and reports were shown on almost every TV channel. A huge wave of criticism and hatred fell on the company and its board of directors from citizens and shareholders. Сompany's share price fell by 4 percent on the same day and heads of the company were thinking of the potential ways of minimizing the damage.

First of all, they decided to fire Dr. Octavius as his invention did not prove to be effective in practical use as it cannot be controlled properly by human thought. Right after the accident, Dr. Walters told the board of directors that the project needs to be stopped. Otto was furious on Mr. Walters as he just saved his life and instead of gratitude he received a betrayal from the colleague. He was working on this project for almost 8 years and did his best to change the opinion of directors. But they did not have any other choice but to fire him. Citizens were sure that Dr. Octavius was guilty of everything that happened as in all of the interviews the board of directors said that he made a mistake in his estimates.

Moreover, the board of directors was trying to find someone who the public and shareholders can blame for the fall of the company after the disappearance of Norman and the car accident with previous shareholders. They decided to make Harry a new leader of the company, he turned 16 not a long while ago, so it was a perfect option for them (as it became legal). They were sure that he would be unsuccessful in his decisions and would resign due to pressure from society in about a month. Directors wanted all of the guilt for the fall of the company to hang on the creator's son.
