102 Spider-Man 102

[Third Person's PoV]

Peter continued typing away at his computer with a serious expression.

Gwen, noticing this, asked, "What are you doing, Peter?"

"Bringing down their entire family. Did you know they've been involved in illegal businesses and shady deals since the guy's grandfather started their business? The more I read, the deeper it goes, Gwen… they're human traffickers. From his uncle to his aunt and cousin, they sell human beings for whatever purposes," Peter said, his voice growing colder and filled with disdain.

Gwen furrowed her brows as she examined everything passing through the screen, which displayed purchases, messages, and locations.

"I see…" Gwen muttered through gritted teeth, "It's no wonder he thought he could take advantage of Felicia and do as he pleases. He doesn't see people as people but objects that someone could buy and discard."

"Have you located most of the addresses?" Gwen asked as she retrieved their suits.

Peter didn't reply immediately, but after a few seconds, he nodded his head. "Yeah." His hand shot back without looking and caught his suit.

As Peter put on his suit, both of them started to leave their hideout. "Call your dad. I don't trust anyone else but him to keep the survivors safe after we rescue them, or keep the bad guys in check and prevent them from escaping."

As they exited, Peter's eyes flashed with blue lightning as he propelled himself off the ground using his electricity.

Gwen, seeing this, let out a sigh. "He's really angry, huh? But I can't blame him. I feel the same way."

Gwen's eyes grew colder as she did the same, using a blast from her ice abilities to launch herself after Peter.

They swung through the night with great efficiency, as it had become second nature to them. People out in the night cheered and waved toward them with enthusiasm, especially seeing how determined they appeared.

They knew the reason they felt safe walking the streets at night was because they had Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider watching their backs and ensuring their safety.

Some cars or trucks honked a greeting as they passed by. Normally, Peter and Gwen would have stopped to appreciate the gesture, but their minds were solely focused on one thing: the mission.

Gwen immediately called her dad. After a few rings, he answered.

"Hello? What's wrong? I thought you were going to a party?" George asked from his phone.

"Are you alone?" Gwen asked.

George, hearing the wind in the background, immediately sensed something related to their secret identities was up. "I'm in my office alone. What's wrong?"

"We've discovered a human trafficking ring. We're going to need some help securing the people being held," Gwen explained urgently.

George's face scrunched up slightly. He wanted to stop her, his fatherly instincts demanding so, but he knew she wouldn't listen and would charge ahead anyway. "Alright, I'll be on my way. Send me the location."

"Alright, I'll see you later," Gwen said, ending the call.

Peter and Gwen turned invisible as they approached their destination. They quickly arrived at a three-story white house with a blue roof.

Surrounding the place, Peter and Gwen searched for any openings where they could enter. After investigating, they spotted a door leading down to the basement at the back of the house.

Gwen whispered, "Do you think they're down there?"

"Wait, let me check. I've been practicing something," Peter said, closing his eyes.

Peter heightened his senses, tuning out the surrounding noise and slowing down his perception, focusing solely on one of his senses. He sensed the electricity inside the house until he started detecting an outline of people further down. His eyes snapped open.

"They're down there," Peter said seriously.

Gwen looked at Peter in confusion. "What did you do?"

"Thanks to my electricity, I'm a bit sensitive to their frequencies, so I'm able to detect bio-electricity, though I need to really hone in on it. Also, there's someone else in the house, just one person," Peter informed her.

'I see… I think I should be able to do the same with my abilities, but instead of detecting bio-electricity, I'll be able to detect heat signatures,' Gwen thought to herself.

Peter shot webs toward the cellar door and yanked it open with his super strength, causing dust to escape from underground.

Gwen didn't bother using the stairs and jumped downstairs, with Peter following right after.

As they entered, Gwen had to hold herself back from throwing up or going into a blinded rage.

There were people of all ages and races, each tied in cages that resembled those for animals. Some were as young as five years old, while others appeared to be teenagers.

As Peter clenched his fists, they glowed blue with electricity, but he calmed himself down and focused on freeing the captives.

Peter and Gwen squeezed the locks until they broke apart, yanking open the cage doors and starting to untie everyone gently while reassuring them.

"Are you superheroes?" asked a young girl with messy black hair and missing front teeth, looking at Peter and Gwen in amazement. Her face was dirty from her ordeal.

Peter smiled at her, his eye lenses moving in a way that indicated a smile. "Yes, I'm Spider-Man. See the symbol on my chest? And that lady over there is my partner, Ghost-Spider. What's your name, little lady?"

Before the girl could respond, a man dressed in black appeared with a gun near a teenager's head.

"Oi, you must be those freaks, the spider couple. What the hell are you doing here? This isn't a place for you to enter," he said, cocking the gun and pressing it harder against the shaking teenager's head.

Peter and Gwen raised their hands, exchanging a look before swiftly shooting their webs. Peter's webs aimed toward the teenager, while Gwen's targeted the man.

Upon landing, ice began to spread from their impact points, enveloping both the man and the webs, rendering him incapable of escaping his frozen cocoon.

While Peter pulled the teen to safety.
