105 Chapter 105

[Third Person's PoV]

🎶🎵 "Follow the leader, leader, leader

Follow the leader 🎶🎵" Peter sang as he led all of the mutants out of the mansion.

Gwen carried all the scientists in her web, while Peter grabbed the webbed-up weapons.

As they stepped outside, they heard the sound of a jet approaching their direction. Peter turned towards Gwen, "They're here."

Gwen nodded with a serious expression as she watched a black jet appear out of thin air and land in front of them.

As the hatch opened, a woman with red hair wearing a black and yellow X-Men outfit rushed towards Peter and Gwen excitedly.

"Can I get your autograph?" She asked with a hopeful glint in her eyes.

"Uh, yeah, sure," Peter replied, surprised by the request.

"Now, Jean, be respectful; they're on duty," a beautiful dark-skinned woman with white hair replied.

Behind her, a 5'3" hairy man with a scowl on his face walked, "So who do I gotta fight?" He asked, taking a sniff around.

"Oh, wow, you're short," Peter blurted out unexpectedly.

"What was that?" The man growled as sharp metal claws escaped from between his knuckles.

"Sorry," Peter quickly covered his mouth, trying to diffuse the tension.

To change the subject, he turned towards Jean, "So, do you have a pen or something?"

Jean disappointedly shook her head, "No…"

"How about a picture? That can be a substitute," Gwen suggested, causing Jean to perk back up.

She took out her phone and handed it to the dark-skinned woman, "Can you take a picture of us, Ms. Storm?"

Storm looked towards Peter and Gwen for confirmation, which they nodded in response.

"Alright, but only one; we have things to do, Jean," Storm said, taking the phone.

Jean got in between Gwen and Peter, making the iconic hand sign, and they followed suit.

After the flash, Jean grabbed her phone, "Oh, Kitty and the others are going to freak out when they learn I met Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider."

Storm sighed and looked towards Peter and Gwen apologetically, "Sorry about her; she's a big fan."

"I didn't know we were that well-known," Peter muttered before changing the subject.

"Anyway, I hope you'll be able to take care of them," he said, pointing towards the mutants they rescued from the lab.

"Leave it to us," Storm replied with a serious expression, "And thank you for your help."

Meanwhile, Wolverine was still glaring at Peter for his earlier comment.

"Anytime. Anyways, you guys better hurry; the cops will be here any minute now," Peter advised.

Storm nodded, "Are they—" she stopped mid-sentence and put a hand to the side of her head.

"The Professor said he isn't able to speak with you guys telepathically, but he offers his thanks, and you're welcome to come by the Private School of the Gifted and Talented if you so wish."

"I see. We'll take him up on his offer later in the future," Peter nodded inwardly relieved, 'Good, the blocker works.'

Just then, the sound of police cruisers started appearing, causing Storm to turn towards Jean and Wolverine, "Guide everyone inside."

Jean stopped fangirling and closed her eyes before sending everyone a telepathic message, which calmed some of them down and led them inside the jet.

By the opening of the jet, two people Peter recognized as Cyclops and Beast stood, guiding the rest inside.

"Sorry for leaving on such short notice; the less interaction we have with the authorities, the better," Storm explained before bidding her goodbyes.

Jean waved goodbye as well, "It was nice meeting you guys!" she shouted.

They watched as the hatch closed before the jet sped away. After a minute, cops and police cruisers surrounded the place.

Peter and Gwen then explained the entire situation to George and Yuri before they swung away with the weapons in tow.

Peter and Gwen arrived back at their secret base. After storing the weapons, Peter went to search for the Tinkerer.

"How did you know the Tinkerer is the one behind the weapons?" Gwen asked curiously.

"He was one of Spider-Man's earliest villains; he studied Spider-Man for a bit before making weapons to sell to the underworld and criminals who were against him.

And since we've been stopping a lot of criminals and their schemes, his weapons sold very well and quickly, which is exactly what he wanted."

Gwen let out a sigh, "We're going to be spending the entire night cleaning the streets of these weapons, aren't we?"

"Unfortunately so, my love," Peter replied with a sigh of his own.

"Oh?"

"What?" Peter asked, looking at Gwen in confusion.

"I don't know, just hearing you call me 'my love' felt weirdly nice."

Peter chuckled in amusement before getting back to business, "Alright, it says here that the Tinkerer ran a repair shop as a front for his real business, and his real name is Phineas T. Mason. The name of his repair shop is Phineas' Fix-It. Aria, run a search and see if all the information matches with what we have."

"So tell me, did you find either of them hot or attractive?" Gwen suddenly asked, causing Peter to stop what he was doing.

"Seriously?" Peter asked, bewildered.

"So you knew who I was talking about immediately?" Gwen said with a smirk.

"Well, for one, who else could you possibly be talking about? The scientists we just met? And second, why are you setting me up for failure?"

Gwen just went and put her arms over Peter's shoulders before pressing her face against his, "I'm only joking; it was just to tease you."

Peter looked at her with some suspicion.

"So you can tell me, honestly, who you found hot between the two?" Gwen said casually.

Peter scoffed, "Yeah, nice try, missy. Let's just say when it comes to ice cream, I almost always choose chocolate."

Gwen playfully slapped the back of Peter's head, "Peter, seriously."

"Blame yourself for wanting to know, okay? I'm free of blame."

Gwen rolled her eyes before Aria interrupted their moment.

"There are some similarities but also some differences as well. For one, the Tinkerer in the other universe is an android, a man turned machine, while in this one, it's just an old man," Aria said as she pulled up two images.

"What are the chances of this man being responsible for the distribution of weapons?" Gwen asked, still pressing her face against Peter's.

"It's honestly pretty high, based on the footage I was able to gather and study. There have been people with criminal records coming and going from his store."

Peter nodded, "And where is he right now?"

"From what I was able to gather, he hasn't left the store yet, even though it's pretty late. That leaves us with two possibilities: one, he has other exits in the store which he uses to leave, and two, he spends nights tinkering away in his store till morning comes," Aria informed Peter, causing him to nod.

Peter let out a tired sigh, "Well, what are we waiting for? We have a Tinker bell to catch."

A/N: So I've started really reading all of the Marvel comic books from the F4, Ant Man, Thor, Iron man, all in the order it's supposed to be read, and as I read I kinda wanted to put this fic on pause, or maybe even rewrite it. The feeling is just slightly, so don't worry I'm not gonna.

Funny thing actually which I just read today, the X-men were called the X-men, because they had an EXtra power, or so they put it lol, which I just found hilarious and so stupid 🤣.
