4 Spider-Man in Action Part 2

The day after I met with the 2 police officers, I'm currently swinging and parkouring around the city.

I was still thinking about their offer, and they asked me to join the police with a fair price and I'd be able to do this stuff legally because after a while they'd have to start trying to arrest me and they want any conflict.

However, I'd have to give up my personal information and they'd have to track my movements, which wouldn't have been much of a problem if I wasn't going to be put through tests like a rat. They would have me with a  science team to be able to create more people like me to help the government, at first I was mad but I found out that it was their higher-ups who set this offer, so after saying goodbye I just left.

Looking around the city I found no crime, it may be the fact that I'm looking at a more crowded area so crime would be rare but not impossible.

Suddenly, the sound of sirens goes off, whipping my head around I see a small hint of red a mile away. I swung up a gear used my skill [Web-Slinger] to the max use, and swang towards the firetruck and landed on the left door.

Bang! Knock Knock!

Opening the window the fireman was confused and shocked.

"Hey! Where's the fire!?"

"Ah! Ahum?" The man driving the truck next to this guy answers instead,

"There's smoke north!" Hearing this I hop off and start swinging, eventually, a minute later I'm in front of an orphanage that's also a church. Landing with great speed smashing into the floor, I see a group of people 2 nuns, a priest, a white-haired girl, and a dozen kids.

"Anyone inside?!" I yelled walking to them,

"YES! There were 2 more nuns and another dozen or so children that were at the back part of the church. Hearing this, I didn't ask questions and zipped into an open window and began searching.

"Hello! Anyone can hear me?! Are you still inside?!" Looking around and avoiding falling debris, I plan to not use my web as working in a construction site allowed me to know that any unwanted swings will swing me straight to God.

"Yes! *Cough Cough* We're here!" Hearing a croaky voice of a woman I jumped down to the first floor, as I had been on the second. Landing and jumping over obstacles, and thinking that I should try and gain more skill because I'm realizing more and more about how I'll die and maybe others might die due to my inexperience.

Looking near the Jesus statue I see the nuns and kids, and without thinking twice I grab one of the long chairs that had been burning and throw it out of a window between me and them.

Crash! Boom!

Came from the window as I turned to them,

"Go to the window, I'll take you out!" Hearing this the nuns pushed the children to the window while I stuck my feet to the burning wall and pulled and tossed the children out the window. After 10 minutes, it was now the nuns.

"It's ok, we are quite heavy escape. We'll be behind you." The older woman who could be considered a grandma spoke, and even though her face showed confidence the other nun showed sadness and fear. From what I could understand they seemed to think that their escape would be impossible due to them being adults and possibly weighing a heavy amount.

But at this point my adrenaline was running high so I hopped down and grabbed the younger nun and threw her out like a ball, the older nun was shocked and was about to speak until I grabbed her and jumped out the window.

Landing on the ground and running a bit out with the younger nun to my side, we arrived at where the other children had met the other group and firemen.

Placing the nun down, I was about to breathe a sigh of relief until the white-haired girl spoke,

"Wait! Where Charlie?!" Hearing this I looked back inside and started sprinting, not hearing the words of Stop, or Wait. I jumped back in.

Looking around I tried to find any sign of life. But no matter what I tried nothing helped. Until I remembered that I had gained 200 exp, so I looked at my system and sore something.

[Would you like to level up!]

Not knowing what else could help he thought,

{YES}

[Ding! Level-up has been confirmed! You are now {Level: 2 [160/200]}. Due to your confirmation, you gained 1 point in speed, 2 points in durability, 1 point in intelligence, and 2 points in strength. You have also gained a wheel to spin.]

That's what he wanted, the WHEEL!

[Would you like to Spin the Wheel?]

{YES}

[You have gained the Good Grade active skill, Saviour. [Saviour] is a skill that allows you to have a higher chance of saving someone's life by 25% with a duration of 5 minutes and cooldown of 10 minutes]

Seeing this made my eyes widen as this skill could help in this pinch, so activating the skill nothing happens until a while after I call out again I hear a small whimper. Taking the initiative to run at the sound, I see a kid stuck under a burning wooden beam so I grab it, and start to lift it. Luckily the wood was light due to it being mostly burnt off, I lifted it enough to allow me to stick my foot on her back and drag her out.

Dropping the wood, I pick her up and feel her soft, petite hands hold on with little strength. Begging that this skill works, I begin to run and zip around the church looking for a way out. Until I looked up and saw a hole in the ceiling, remembering I had 3 minutes left I risked it and pulled the roof down to make more space. The moment more room appeared I launched the 2 of us through it, in almost an instant I was free-falling until I stuck a web onto the chimney that barely stood and swung next to the firefighters.

Having felt the girl's hands let go of me a while ago my nervousness was at an all-time high, and seeing that the girl didn't move after being put to the floor scared me. I placed my ear near her mouth and then her heart, I couldn't hear anything. So I began chest compressions to resuscitate her.

A minute or so passed and I realized that the firefighters weren't helping and when I looked around I saw them looking after the other injured and hadn't noticed the little girl's situation. So with new vigor, I zipped to a firetruck looking for the defibrillator. When I found it I zipped back to the girl, ripping her shirt to bits in a hurry I followed the instructions for placing the patches and charged the machine waiting.

Beep! Beep!

Hearing this I stopped the chest compressions and hit the shock button, touching her chest after I didn't feel her heart beat so I continued the process. After a while, I started to get scared and nervous, so nervous I cracked a rib or 2 of hers. But no matter what I tried nothing worked, I was close to giving up until a firefighter came with more equipment and asked me to continue the chest compressions alone.

Seeing this firefighter get to work quickly made me happy, but the girl's situation made the happiness nonexistent. After a minute, the girl still didn't wake up and at this point, the firefighter stated that she was sadly gone. Hearing a few gasps behind me, which I ignored, I backhanded the firefighter knocking them 5 or so feet away knocking them out cold.

I continued the chest compressions begging for anything good to happen, until the countdown of the skill was at 10 seconds.

No matter how hard I tried, she wouldn't wake up.

[9 seconds]

Slowly I stopped doing the chest compressions.

[8 seconds]

Suddenly, I heard the whimpering of the children and soft cries from the nuns, but most shocking was a thump in front of me.

[7 seconds]

It was the white-haired girl.

[6 seconds]

She looked almost dead with tears falling from her eyes.

[5 seconds]

Seeing this made me cry but restored my drive to save the girl.

[4 seconds]

Even if out of false confidence, I tried to save the girl.

[3 seconds]

Pumping in and out of her chest I continued.

[2 seconds]

I lifted my mask over my mouth, to push air into her lungs and then continued.

[1 second]

Still pumping I pressed the button for the defibrillator to charge.

[Skill duration, ended]

Seeing this shattered me, I suddenly stopped. I couldn't. Save her.
