Absurd, Totally Absurd

Rossi walked back and forth in a dizzying pace all over her chambers located in the second floor of the huge Wringcaster Palace.

They have never encountered a human before and she is not so certain as to how their parents, the King and Queen of Rosemoor, would react. Moreover, Irene the mortal seems to be a good person so she is worried about her welfare should anybody learn about her existence in Rosemoor.

An anxious servant approached Rossi from behind, "Your highness, please calm down." Rossi then snappily turned to her, looking disturbed.

Rossi observed that the fixtures and everything in her chamber is floating in the air, her powers resonating with everything around her. Letting out a deep breath and motioned her hands to put back everything to the ground without breaking something.

She then walked to the balcony while a female servant followed her behind. Rossi faced the servant with a worried expression painted all over her face, "Tell me. Have you ever encountered a human before?" Rossi had the kind of look on her face, hoping that the obedient servant would say yes to appease her anxious heart.

Noticing that the servant is hesitating to answer her question, she added. "Come on. Tell me about it,"

"I-… I haven't, Your Highness. I don't even know if they really exist or not." The little girl's sight is fixed on the floor to avoid Rossi's piercing gaze.

Disbelief is written all over Irene's face, almost as white as a paper. Earlier, Rossi looked into Irene's eyes to look into what she has been through, who she is, and where she comes from so that they will know how to help her.

Astounded by how Rossi knew her life in detail after that, she asked how she did so. Rossi was left with no option but to tell her what they are as well as the background of where she is right now.

"So you guys are some sort of a… mythical or magical creatures with powers? Your brother Amiel saved me that night and brought me to Rosemoor because he thought I might die if he let me back alone in the dense woods after saving me from the seas?" Irene massaged her temples and shut her eyes close to digest the most absurd thing she has ever heard during the entire 20 years of her existence.

Rossi clasped her hands together and nervously gazed at Irene in front of her. She knew that there is a high possibility that Irene would not understand their existence in Rosemoor having gotten into her memories and most mortals don't believe in them.

"Yes, Irene. You are a mortal and we are Rosemoors. We have gifts and powers which is the only thing that distinguishes between us two beings," She explained in the simplest way possible so Irene could understand.

Right after Rossi's composed rationale, Irene burst into hysterical laughter until tears formed in her eyes. She has never laughed so hard like this before and she is thinking these people may be lunatics.

That maybe they belong to a cult that is separated from the society for too long that they created an imaginative world among themselves and even have 'power'.

'Pure absurdity', Irene thought.

"You must be in a cult," Irene caught her breath and wiped her laughter tears away, and then took a sip of the blue tea in a transparent glass cup in front of her.

Even though she is talking to weird people, Irene loves that being in this place called Rosemoor allows her to wear fancy dresses like the ones she wore before when she starred in a historical movie.

Placing her palms on the table, "We are not a cult, Irene. Doesn't it surprise you how much I got to know things about your life in extreme details when I don't know even your name in the first place before I looked into your eyes?" Veins in Rossi's throat became visible and her face is staring to turn red, she never knew it would be this frustrating to convince a mortal about them.

Shaking her head, Irene let out a guttural laugh which resounded in the entire room. "For all I know you guys could be my avid fans. Let's say I believe you but why didn't your brother save and treat me directly in the woods if he also has powers?" She placed the teacup back on the saucer and adoringly looked at Rossi, "So he didn't have to bring me here in your 'Kingdom'?"

Rossi barely have any patience left for proving their existence to Irene. Never did it occur to her that a particular instance would happen in her life where she has to explain these things.

"He doesn't have any healing powers! In fact, his powers does the opposite!" Rossi explained.

Irene mischievously raised her eyebrows and decided to go on with the absurd story, "Is that so? What are his powers then?" She mockingly asked.

Rossi impatiently exhaled, "Destroying. My brother is not the type of person to save someone, Irene. He is not." This time, Rossi's once calm and composed expression turned to a dead serious one.

She added, "Allow me," Rossi's eyes turned to a once gold orb into a white one. Rossi it would be best to give Irene a vivid vision of what Amiel is used to doing.

In the vision, Rossi stood in front of Irene. She turned to her and extended her arms for her to guide the series of events that Irene is about to witness.

A bright and full flame illuminated the vast area which made Irene turn her head away and cover her head with her forearms. She saw the lens of Amiel's eyes turn fiery red and a ball of fire forming on his palms.

"My brother who saved you is an incinerator. He destroys unruly beings who cause chaos and harm in Rosemoor. Irene, he destroys. It is not in his qualities to save someone." Rossi smirked and went on directly to lead the horrified Irene.

The next thing they saw was Amiel on the night of the incident, "These were the people who abducted you, right?" Rossi asked. Utterly interested, Irene nodded her head and then proceeded to witness the drastic event that night.

In between the tall trees of a dark and stormy night, Amiel stood straight and erect as he showed a blank expression on his painfully pleasing face before throwing huge balls of fire to the men who tried to shoot him.
