1 The Day

Going to office and work and earn money was my biggest dream. I wanted make my parents proud. I wanted to give them all the comforts in life and make them happy. Finally the day came. I was selected from a well known multinational company in Mumbai.

My first day at office. I was very excited as well as nervous. I introduced myself to few people and made some friends. Everyone were busy with their work. My team lead approached me and said, 'hey'.

I said, 'hello, sir'.

'don't call me sir. You can call me Manav. Everybody call others by their names not Mr or Ms', Manav said confidently.

'ok sir. I mean Manav'

He handed me a bouquet of roses and a card which read as 'Welcome to the company' welcomed me. I smiled and thanked him. I placed the bouquet and the card on my desk. I sat on my chair and smiled to myself. I was happy, really happy to be in a company. A big multinational company. Well reputated company. Suddenly, out of nowhere a lady shouted my name from behind. I turned around and looked at her.

'What are you doing? you haven't even turned on your PC. Stop dreaming and do your fucking work you moron', she shouted and left.

With teary eyes I turned back and switched on the computer to start my work.
